Thanks for all the replies guys! I have no idea on the brand of oil, Its what ever nissan use. Its a tight a drum the car has little wear on it which you would expct being so well looked after. Only thing I notice is its a bit ticky when idling.

Sorry thinking about this, the oil will have been full when serviced (right to the top line?), so its at this level after around 3000 miles if im measuring correctly

oh oil is still golden which was changed around 3000 miles a go.

its got 49k on the clock full history and the last owner drove it like an old man! It may be me not reading the level right. oil pressure is around 20psi when warm on tickover. The other thing to not the ground had a slight decline so this maybe will have effected it. im talking ever so slight. I will check again. Is it better to do this when cold, maybe the oil hadnt fully drained back into the sump?

Hi Guiys, I know the 296hp engine is known to use oil. Question is what is normal? Im struggling to workout if the oil has dropped, Ive had it 1400 miles now, im sure it was level when I bought it and now look likes its used maybe 1/8 on the stick. I drove it this morning, left it for ten mins then checked the level.

400 Miles / Tank around town? I doubt I'd get that even if I got out and pushed! Only had it 7 weeks but when I bought it I reset everything and I drove it on a slight run from Manchester to sandbach home then mostly back road blasting the mpg settled around 26, after 1000 miles I reset it again, I use the car to go to the gym 4 times a week which is ten miles around trip and occasion short trips, sometimes for a junction or to up the motorway. Im rarely stuck in traffic and the guage is showing 25.7mpg. My 290hp focus st used to show 22.9. Is my car a freak? oh and the last two times I tanked it it shows 387 miles to empty,

My car does around 380-400 miles aroud town, showing 25.7 on the gauge. You should easily do 30 mpg if not more at a steady 70.

So what should you put in them when there warm? As by the time I ge tto the garage the tyres will be hot. I have been trying different settings, popped 37 in when hot other day but feels very light so going drop them down a touch

Should the tyres be inflated to 35 when warm or cold?

Had my Z for almost four weeks and due to this forum I have done the following: 3 stage machine polish and then wax. All the interior has been done also Removed the massive aerial and replaced it with a Honda one. Changed out the air filter as it looked black, replaced with a performance cosworth unit. Replaced all three wipers for the more modern looking Bosch Aero units. Rear tyres were Vredsteins and seemed a little low, tried to purchase two of these for the rear but they are no longer made so I went with Michelin Pilot Super Sports, this hurt the wallet! While it was in for tyres I got my mechanic to send all four wheels to Prestige Wheels in Stockport to be refurbished. They have been acid bathed and powder coated, they really look amazing now! I also got him to remove the rear CV joints as I could here a click every now and then when moving off from a standstill, he stripped them down and regressed everything using marine grease and its completely silent now. Its booked in for a full alignment check on Sat. So heres the pictures! Day I bought it, paint flat: After a polish: new boots and result of the wheel refurbishment:
