  1. Supercharge a 370z maybe? I mean, if you've got 25k to spend the worlds your oyster really. Id be tempted with £25k to supercharge the 350z and then buy a Jag XF as a second car lmao. But in all seriousness, theres alot of cars out there. Wouldnt a Ferrari 348 tempt you? Not the best in performance but its the class and prestige!
  2. Didnt want to start a new thread, so Ill post my question here! Would you say the Sat nav/connect premium is a must when you look at a 2nd hand 370z? I had a browse at a few local cars and none of them had the sat nav. Still not going to purchase until april so I can sort funds out to get an exhaust/remap and window tints instantly along with paying insurance upfront, but if the Sat Nav isn't really something that should make or break buying a car, then I can pretty much go care free. The other thing is, I have a lifetime free update 7inch screen truck satnav which I use for work and has films, music etc stored on it so if I need a satnav and can attach my truck one to the vents or wherever. Is there anything aftermarket you could put there anyway? Cubby hole seems pretty useless to be honest!
  3. I went and got a brochure on the 370z from my local Nissan dealer. I was talking to one of the salesman and he was onabout, if your buying new; buy a Nismo because its just a 3k more than the normal and you get the prestige of it. But if your not fussed on the bodystyling, theres no real incentive to buy one. Its not the level up they thought the Nismo would be and 2nd hand is one of the best ways to purchase one.
  4. those phone cases are awsome! Tell he is a fan of Initial D!
  5. My only qualm with Marquez is, he is only in the lead because Lorenzo missed Sachsenring and injured himself. pedrosa has always been a nearly rider but he too is carrying that collarbone injury that he has broke how many times? Marquez is fast and on the fastest bike.
  6. Clarkson will change his mind like the wind. Remember when he said all modified cars break and are useless and rubbish?
  7. Great price. Abit too low surely for such a beautiful example! if I was in a position today I would snap it up. All the best!
  8. lol! I cant wait to get one. completely different animal!
  9. Name: Bruno Make: Dog! Model: Akita wolf/golden retriever crossbreed Age: Unknown. Was adopted by my family in 2009, supposedly aged 5 but vets said he was more like age 8. so he is around 12 years old Likes: sleeping, eating, cuddles and fuss Dislikes: me moving on the bed as he takes most of it up, rain, showers/baths, my brother and my best friend!
  10. Cheers mate! Ill keep active on here and probably ask as the time gets closer. Depreciation doesnt bother me because I know Ill have it until around 2020. And ill have a missus by then so she can buy a bloody family car!!!!
  11. no local tesco's with Momentum?
  12. Yeah I've noticed that. though give it 8 months I bet the prices will decline a £1000 or so. Makes it abit easier for me!
  13. Cheers for the replies. Ive upset the RX8 forum to the point where some are saying 'hurry up and sell' because ive said its not worth spending £1400 in effect to buy exhaust/intake/decat/remap for mere 20bhp. It doesnt change the car or the problems it has. oh well.
  14. Thats fine because to be honest, I dont really push the RX8 really. Depreciation is something I couldnt care less about, taking half on finance means im comitted for 5 years anyway which Im happy to do; because theres literally no other cars comparable out there IMO. On le RX80C forum ive already said it, Nobody cares really which is how it should be! Though I know some club events I wont be welcome at as a few other members who have sold up to other cars such as GT86 are left wondering how it will all work. I get what you mean about some thinking nothing can be better. You get the old 'turbo the 8' and 'nothing will ever handle like it'. No I wont waste money turbocharging and yes things can handle better. Ben is on here who owns rotary revs, bought a 350z convertible, looks gorgeous and I cant wait to see it. Better than the 8 IMO even if the interior isnt as good as the 8. Its like the power thing, its got enough power or remap as its about the delivery and the torque curve and how you can use it. Bollocks. If a car is slow its slow. If it doesnt have the power, it doesnt have the power whether you improve delivery or not. Its not gran turismo 5, you dont get 19bhp from a filter, 37bhp from an oil change. I get some people like to think the car they own is THE best but.... sometimes its just annoying because in frank honesty I see the RX8 merely as a Civic Type R competitor, though i get shot down for saying that quite abit lol. But yeah. I must admit, i love my RX8 but I thought it would be better than it is. I always thought the 8 was the same as the 7 just N/A and after a while its left me wanting more. As a first sporty car though its the best thing you could start with, because then you can feel the desire for more torque and power, then with that comes the experience of heavier cars and harder handling. The 8 I guess holds your hand alot, its very forgiving because its got the power to get you out of trouble but not the power to get you IN trouble, if you get what I mean.
  15. Yeah I get what you mean Gman; The RX8 has great handling but its not got the power to push it over the limit very easy, unless your over 7.5k revs, you cant get the back end out as theres no torque or power. Would you say the 370z is more busy behind the wheel? The RX8 was almost care free, you know it would do X speed easily and you wouldn't have to bother just point and go so is the 370z more of a 'be alert' and be ready to feel and correct as soon as possible, tease the car not just go aggressive and think it will 'just' stick? I quite like the idea of being more aware and active behind the wheel to feel the car; I think I must have gotten used to the RX8 so quick, because its not.... well the sense of speed isn't as thrilling and the handling is now predictable, ive learnt the car and I've even learnt how to heel-toe. I know the exact speed I can take each corner on the way to work and theres no fun spark anymore. Its relatively casual and care free whereas I want something which can keep me on my toes. But ofcourse, driving within reason and not being silly. Just something with more power, torque more edge to it. Sipar; since I've had the RX8 ive had a loose earth somewhere so ive constantly had a buzzing noise and even a whine like a supercharger which is louder than the radio on 13! So noise intrusion is nothing to bother me, especially with a gorgeous zorst and engine note!
  16. Cheers guys. In a years time, Ill probably reconsider my stance on tyres as inevitably prices come down. As im in no rush, im happy to continue saving so I can do things immediately as opposed skrimping. Glad to see the twitchyness is often imbeciles as opposed to the actual car! Im not afraid to spend money on tyres, especially as I went and spent £800 on a set of AD08's for the RX8, though I would lean towards the Michelin supers as A) Better in the rain and Ive had Michelin on all 3 cars before the RX8 and swear by them. Its also nice to see a former 8 driver! Never liked the R3 Mazda6 family smile and the seats are terrible! I agree that the RX8 is pretty much a maximised standard package, only thing you can do is spent stupid money to get power which you could buy a better vehicle for, or try make it sound nicer. All I did was the aero kit and the exhaust then a rebuild with D585 coils. Simples. Im pretty much sold on a 370z already. Put my first £350 away towards the down payment. figured if I can put £350 a month away, by April I would have around £3000 ontop of hopefully £3500-£4000 for my RX8. Even then I might wait a few more months and get another £700 then venture out with intent! No PS13Silvia, I havn't been out in a 370z. Hell Ive never ever seen one in real life either. Im happy to wait till April so its my 24th birthday in March, insurance goes down more, get my 3rd years no claims on my 6th year of driving (lost my no claims in 2010, pulled out and hit a Kia Sedona at the side AND the back. Whilst I was parked in a parking bay and didnt even have the keys in the ignition. Just as dodgy as it sounds)
  17. Ok guys! Been a lurker for a while about a 350z. Whilst looking I noticed that the 370z's are around £15-£16k for a manual 6-speed with the GT pack (noticed a lovely Yellow edition at £16.5k). Anyway, my current car is an RX8 which I love. I dont do alot of millage and most of it is in town, but the 8 makes me want to go out and explore the country roads and have some fun, do some car shows and just generally drive. Does the 370z give you that feeling? Im not adverse to running costs on fuel, hell I get about 18mpg/45 miles per quater of a tank of Momentum/Nitro+ out of my RX8, from what I've read the 370z has better MPG than that. Im after a fun two seater sports car, which is involving behind the wheel, which I can learn about from doing a couple of handling days or whatever, which can change from being a relaxing drive through town into a beast on the country roads. I often change my car every year or so, my history is 1996 punto, 2001 megane, 2006 C4, 2006 RX8. I want something truly modern, powerful, relaxing but can be a handful beast when required. A car to commit to for a fair amount of time. Id be taking the car out on finance after dropping around £5k as a down payment, so it would be a car I firmly live with for a good 4 or 5 years. My route to work is a short trip through town, onto a dual carriage way and a lovely country road; around 15 minuets drive. The 8 is warmed up by the dual carriage way and I can have a drive that puts a smile on my face. Ive read that the car is twitchy, probably by people who never owned it, is that true? It wouldnt bother me, it would be something I want to learn about rather than think im Hamilton and just blast it thinking I know everything. I wouldn't be purchasing the car until April next year so it will probably go down abit in price, as it gives me time to save a good amount of money for the down payment but also to go and put an exhaust on, as I think every bit of advice i've ever seen recommends it. I want to do it right and not rush straight in. So what would your advice to be? Definitely get the GT pack on a car. I dont want a black or grey 370z purely because I want the INGS front lip, Tarmac sports side step and probably a black diffuser and something on the rear to contrast with a colour. I wouldn't change the tyres until they are done for to be honest as I wouldn't push the car for a while until i'm comfy and acclimatized to it. Thanks in advanced guys.
  18. lol! Been a member for a few month! Sat in my friends FD and I just couldnt get combfortable. Thought I could hack an old interior too but, as much as the performance is there I dont think I could hack an interior like my old renault! Im also a member on scoobynet; just keeping my options open lol!
  19. Looks great dude. You will have to show it me when I bring the 8 up!
  20. Well theres a huge difference between spending £1000-£4000 on a £6000 car to make it better, as opposed to spending £50k or more to buying a car. If you can afford to spend £80k on a 370z and heavily modifying it then you wouldnt have qualms about buying a Ferrari in the first place or a GTR. Its about what money you have in the first place. 'A £30k car can never be made as good as a £100k car', is the £30k car buying a brand new car, or the original RRP of a car IE a 350z and buying it second hand at £6000 and comparing it to a brand new £100k car? Thats a different ball park too. But theres a difference between spending a few thousand on a Saxo or Civic when you could buy a 350z for a few grand more, as opposed to bying a second hand 350z and spending a couple of grand on that as opposed to shelling £40k more for a second hand GTR. In that sense, a few grand on a 350z will improve the car in many ways. To the level of a GTR? No. but give yourself a £10k budget and you'll have a supreme vehicle thats not lightyears away from a £50k second hand or £100k new GTR
  21. You cant use an RX8 to its full capacity on a road, but my point is what is the point of having such powerful 100k cars when you cant use any of what makes it £100k? You cant use nigh on all cars to its full capacity either. but Id rather buy a 6k car and use half of it than use a quater of a 100k car, ontop of being personally, too afraid to crash a £100k car as opposed to a £6k car on a trac. So in that case, a £30k car has relatively the same capability as a £100k car on public roads, which then means its just as good performance wise as a £100k car because a second in 0-60 or whatever isn't going to make any difference on public roads.
  22. I think its abit of silly statement really. I mean, if your spending £100,000 on a car say a GTR, you will naturally have the car with the optional extra's you want, accessories you want. So where do you go from there with a GTR or Ferrari? From my knowledge, its very hard and/or very expensive to modify a Ferrari or a GTR. But on the other hand take a 350z, its much more accesible, there are more parts and things you can do to modify it. I dont believe many of us would modify a car to make it like £100,000 car. I believe we modify a car to our taste, to how we would like it to be, to look and stand, to be the colour, the be changed to our acquired taste. Many Ferrari's etc are custom tailored to the buyer with optional extras and so forth. Its about putting your own spin on the car, your own mark. Realistically nobody is expecting a 350z to beat a Ferrari (just like I dont expect my RX8 to beat a 350z). Its about being the proud owner of a car that you live and you want to make it different, your own. Often its about improving on a base line. Fine tuning handling, smoother power delivery, improving engine performance. Optimising the vehicle. Something which on many £100,000 cars you cant do because its mostly at its limit anyway. On a more general basis, I often wonder if said cars like Ferrari's or GTR's are worth the money. £100,000 for a car which most of the time you will never be able to utilise on a public road. At that cost I wouldnt want to take it to a track either, so really, what makes say a GTR £30,000 more than a 350z? Yeah its faster, yeah it has a brilliant onboard computer system, but what is that speed going to do on a public road? The computer system im sure you can put a Nexus tablet into the car like half the RX8 guys have done and they have a system that's cost them about £500 and does all the reading etc that the GTR system does. So really, what makes it £30k more? The design and planning? Manufacturing? To me, I dont see it. It could be a design marvel, but I dont see a £30,000 difference in design. Same with Ferrari, I know they use THE best materials and manufacturing etc, but aside from the badge and prestige, I dont really see a point in such high price tags for cars like that. The fact that 350z's 2nd hand are between £5k-£13k mostly, and what you get for your money far outweighs many vehicles on the road, similar to my RX8 with a rebuild for £3500, you can buy a 2007 Citroen C2 more expensive than that. Running costs aside, its a weird world regarding cars and their values. End of the day, spending 100k on a car might get you some looks and admiration, but when you cant utilise 80% of the performance in the car anyway, what is the point? is there really £90,000 difference between a well looked after 350z and say a brand new GTR or £50k difference to a second hand one? To me, never in a million years. It might be better made, but not £40k-£90k better made. So really, a £30k car doesnt NEED to be made better than a £100k car, because on public roads and some fun track day flirting, theres not £70,000 between the two vehicles in any way shape or form in my eyes.
