  1. talking of insurance then - if you remove the locking nuts ???? Never been asked on any of my policies if I have locking wheel nuts or not. I'd presume they're an extra measure, not a required one.
  2. current F1 regulations forbid basically all forms of imaginative thinking and/or breaking the mould.
  3. Everyone leaves their locking nut key in the car, normally in the dash, centre console or the wheel well with the other tools. It takes half a second to put someones window through and grab from one of those locations. You check your car over and think nothing has gone missing, the thief must have been disturbed. Two weeks later, after you've stopped watching the car like a hawk, you wake up and the car is on bricks. I'd rather they just stole the wheels so I only had to claim on my insurance once.
  4. Crashdonado has been fined for speeding in the pit lane during FP1... two times! One of the times was nearly 31kph over the limit
  5. Mcguard nuts have a "rotating hardened steel collar" on theirs so the reverse thread sockets and oversized sockets don't work, they just spin the collar.... Supposedly. I just mashed the top of the locker down to essentially crimp the collar in place.
  6. Get some vasalene out... Nissan part: 26398N (350Z CAP-BOLT) They aren't cheap! http://www.courtesyparts.com/26398n-cap-bolt-350z-z33-2003-2008-p-14116.html Obviously that's in the US, but the price should be similar in sterling.
  7. I take the opinion that if they want your wheels, they'll take your wheels. I'd rather someone stole my wheels and I had to replace them, than someone smashed my window in looking for the locking wheel nut key and then stole my wheels. Not used lockers for years now and never had an issue. I was put off when my mcguard key broke and a guy at my local tyre place got them off with no real issues, or special tools, despite the fact that mcguard nuts are supposed to be some of the best around.
  8. That's not entirely accurate, as a large proportion of the list are paying to be there. Crashtor Maldonado is a prime example of that, sure he may take home £3,000,000 but it's not Lotus who are paying him that. Koboyashi paid a few million to drive which was gained through crowd funding.
  9. With that design the drivers would get horrible reflections, you'd need something a la le mans cars which are more bubbly. Also, they've covered the top intake with the canopy Or something like this:
  10. are they literally a bolt on part? Or would you need to start notching things etc?
  11. So why did you buy a porsche again? faster things for less money
  12. RedBull are going to be the works team for Renault next year
  13. Buy a KandN oil filter and it comes with a one inch nut on the end. Even better Was not aware of this! Doh
  14. I've heard you need to install it to the hard drive for best performance
  15. I'm running a welder, it's only an issue when parking or mini roundabouts really. My LSD was getting more like an open diff when it was hot as I needed to change the oil but I had a great offer for swapping my spare open for a welder so I just did that as it was free. Still NA, I'd love a supercharger but money is the issue
  16. That's what Bizz has for his steering angle on the LSZ, IIRC he said it wasn't actually that impressive what it added, so much so he's planning on making his own kit I believe. Edit: Having said that, it's not a bad price for a punt if you do need it. This is my standard lock, never measured it though, so I can't help with how much it actually is:
  17. Stab the oil filter with a massive screwdriver and twist, job done
  18. I started to learn in a completely standard 350, wobbly suspension and all. As Docwra says, the standard LSD is pretty good, just make sure it has decent oil in it Obviously it depends on your skill level, but I personally wouldn't say big steering lock is high on the list for the Z as it's not bad to start with. I'm certainly no pro, but I've never found myself struggling for lock.
  19. Just noticed alex, what do the boot mounted brake disks do?
  20. Just weld it. For the cost of a case of beer you'll be done. What do you currently drift?
  21. Yes extremely rare, but what about the DoLuck aero kit (first in the UK) That's nice too, I just wouldn't want to smash it up I know the wheels would be strong
  22. Neither do copper ones http://www.livescience.com/40174-magnetic-therapy.html
  23. If you're happy with it than that's all that matters, I just personally wouldn't rush to buy one unless it proved to be a must do mod.
