  1. I presume you mean me Dave Funnily enough Jenson Button is the only F1 driver i have met, far away from the circus of F1. I used to be a skipper doing charters on luxury super yachts and Jenson was a customer one day. The guy was chilled, relaxed, very personable and had a good laugh with him, in no way at all did he seem arrogant, he was surprisingly chatty and actually showed an interest in a lowly skipper, him and his group made me feel very welcome and trust me, i have seen a lot worst from wealthy no bodies. We all have opinions on F1 drivers (rightly so) or any other motor sport protagonist but to preach about their personalities is just opinion and nothing more!
  2. I think one thing is for sure, there isnt one of us who "knows" Vettel, so anyone making presumptions about his real personality is quite laughable. We will only see what we, the press or he want us to see. For me i saw enough when he threw all his toys out the pram and disobeyed team orders, during and after the race! He "might" be the nicest the guy in the world but from that incident i thought he was a c*ck!
  3. Anyone for a Webber - Vettel first corner incident Cant see Webber backing out of it

    Nismo GTR

After NIssan privately hired the Ring for a whole day for one test Nismo GTR rumours are abound of a lap time approaching 7mins 10secs to 7mins 6secs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it achieves that its pretty spectacular.
  5. Well thats 3 of us who have come from Rx7's that i know of on here Good luck luck with your search, i think you will really enjoy the 350z experience, i certainly am

  7. ...carried out by a well respected specialist. Re-Worx, Hayward Rotary, Rx Motors, Powergains, WGT, Dragon Performance. Plenty of info on fduk or mazdarotaryclub not all respected ;-) but agree 100% with the above Glad you are having a look around on here Andy And yes agree, but seeing as there seems to be bun fights surrounding any specialist mentioned on fduk/mrc, i thought i would just list the popular and well known ones

    DPE Wheels

So many awesome jdm wheels i have never seen on a Zed, you certainly dont need to spend £7k+ plus to be individual, a decent colour on some nice wheels will do that, so long as you avoid anything Rota has copied and you will achieve that unique touch in my opinion of course What about being really bold and getting some nice wheels copper plated Not seen anything like that on a Zed, nor anything else over here to be honest

    DPE Wheels

Personally i think you could get a lot nicer for a lot less from the usual jdm manufacturers.
  10. Uk cars apparently sell for a lot of money to Europe, but yet to actually see it happen, be cautious of rust too on uk cars. Good luck and buy with your head and not heart on this one, your plans could come crashing down around your ears with a small slip up on a Rx7.
  11. Unless its a uk car its not even worth that buddy, 60k is rebuild territory anyway, how many miles has it got overall if its already been rebuilt and done 60k???? . Rebuild @ £2000+ depending what you need, if you need rotors or housings expect that to jump to £3k+ Also another caution, if its been stood or not driven regularly, petrol has a habit of sitting on and deteriorating water seals, rebuild time again
  12. From much experience stick to an un molested twin turbo, if you buy anything else you will have MAHOOSIVE problems selling it and probably end up breaking it down for spares, singles are just not selling and knowing your frequent change history i am sure you wont want a car that doesnt sell quick. Make sure you also have documentation of recent rebuild and very recent (like within a week or two) compression readings and good history, also make sure this all ties up with the car you are buying. Also make sure these compression readings and rebuild have been carried out by a well respected specialist. Re-Worx, Hayward Rotary, Rx Motors, Powergains, WGT, Dragon Performance. Plenty of info on fduk or mazdarotaryclub
  13. I am with pretty much everyone else, whats the worse that can happen, you preferred the zed, sell the s2000 and buy another zed

    Speedo

Just found this which sounds like my exact problem. http://www.350z-uk.c...ts-hot-outside/ Will try removing the speed converter first. Am i also presuming an uprev can change from kmh to mph or will Uk clocks will automatically read in mph??

    Speedo

Guys my JDM speedo (and computer readout) fluctuates at idle intermittently. I installed a new speed chip converter to get to mph but still suffering this problem. How are you other guys getting your mph reading, mine was a chip from sva parts, the only place i could find and also, has anyone else had this problem? Thanks
  16. Two weeks and two fires, what are the chances I know he got smacked in the side but Jeez, Seb got fully punted in the side last year and managed to do very well in the race without a hint of failure. I will bet he cannot wait for the season to end
  17. Can you do a before and after weight on individual parts Neil, perhaps a gross weight after, would be very interesting?
  18. I didnt weigh the decats or exhaust before i put them on although should have done as it would be interesting to see the saved difference. Going to target 1400kg or less, will return to weighbridge once i have some track wheels and audio out.
  19. Silenced decats and stainless exhaust.
  20. Half buddy
  21. I guess it depends a lot on what you are used to or come from, Civic is lighter. My post was more out of surprise as i thought they are listed as a fair bit over 1500kg. If anyone else has weighed their zed please share and list brief spec
  22. Would be great if we could make this a sticky if its a popular thread I keep hearing a fair bit about 350z's being heavy, so being curious i popped to my local scrap metal dealer and asked a favour if they would put it on the weighbridge. I was impressed, 1460kgs, its a JDM with brembos, heavy old 19's and tyres and loads of audio (amps and subs), spare tyre out though. So i reckon with some nice light track 18's and tyres, sub box out i could get 1400kgs, maybe a shade under with some lightweight buckets. To put that into prospective, a Rx7 weighs 1280kgs and thats regarded as lightweight, road car wise, so 120 kgs more imho is not monumental at all Half of that could be the difference between me and a fatster Be curious if anyone else has done or would do the same
  23. I am guessing it would not pass if it had decats as its a mot fail and the fact he needs a spacer suggests its some form of aftermarket cats. I would try a tin of Cataclean before you do anything drastic and perhaps identify what you have for the masses to offer more help/
  24. A Mot is pretty much invalid as soon as you leave the test station. I would pull up to the test station in my Rx7 (500+ hp), adjust the fuelling on the Apexi so it would pass basic emissions, drive it in, pass, then before i went anywhere adjust it back to its normal map. I have just decatted my car, i put it in for a mot, mot passed, deacts fitted A years worth of motoring before i have to swap them back.
  25. Poor thing If anyone knows where this is would love to try and save the wheels from the crusher
