Thanks for advising and I would have thought that commuting would also encompass SD&P if the options are as you mention. Commuting being of course a more risky proposition if you are travelling on generally busier roads at peak times.

Thanks for the enquiry and it could be a whole host of reasons why our underwriters were unable to provide a quotation.  It could be your age, driving record, home address, lack of driving experience of similar grouped/performance cars etc, etc.

Yes I think you would struggle to obtain affordable insurance at the moment for this type of vehicle. With regards to short term cover I'm not aware of any of the short term providers that would probably offer cover.

Have to ask im on a limited mileage policy of 4000 miles

 

now you do not cover me for track days so how does this work with limited mileage as your insuring me for 4000 road miles? not that ii have come close in last 2 years anyway

 

Distance covered on track would still count towards your limited mileage. I appreciate the insurance does not cover for track use but there is no practical way of proving what mileage was done where etc.

Also im not sure who the girl was i was speaking to but was she talking from a script when telling here about the uprev she kept asking me what stage my ca rwas mapped to was it stage 1 or stage 2 or 3 etc she couldn't quite grasp that this isnt a golf or a focus with a revo tune

Unfortunately not all of our staff are car enthusiasts. Whilst not every member of staff may have the exact knowledge of a specific vehicle they will have access to supervisors / team leaders who would be able to assist in quoting the risk correctly.

Full Classic Car Insurance is based on more than just vehicle age. There are various other factors such as it being a second vehicle, garaged, limited mileage, social domestic and pleasure use only etc.

Second Vehicle

garaged ( would on a private drive count or is it only classed as classic if locked up)

3,000 miles a year

and

only for SDP

Changed insurance company this year as per normal story, insurance keeps going up and normally to lazy to bother to change insurance company. Well this time Chris Knott lost a loyal customer and Adrain Flux came in a lot cheaper with all mods covered so happy days, until next year when the premium keeps magically going up

They stated it was because she hadn't got enough experience in modified cars. The Z is my first modified car too. She's had a Golf GTi but nothing else of that ilk.

Whilst a number of our schemes would require previous experience for performance RWD vehicles I'm surprised we could't offer any kind of premium with an alternative insurer.
