So I've been with Adrian Flux for a year now on a multicar policy for two modified Golfs, been very happy with them and their customer service even with an inflated rate on the GTi as the Mrs has only been driving for two years.
However, just picked up a 350Z which is obvs a lot more beastly than the GTi and needed to carry my NCD onto this one. Adrian Flux came strong out the gate with a quote of 800+ and Admiral have pretty much halved that!
It beggars belief that AF don't have access to the same pool of underwriters, so are they trying to squeeze me too hard? Either way, Admiral have got my business this year. Maybe next year AF
Hi.
I'm sorry we could't help on your new vehicle. Admiral are their own insurer so we wouldn't have any access to there insurance.
Please do feel free to try us again next year.

Dan.

Ok no worries. Sorry we couldn't offer anything better but thanks for giving us a try though.

Shame the renewal price this year has gone up ( no surprise I guess )
Will be looking elsewhere once again sadly.
Hi there,
If you wished to message me your full name / postcode I can take a look.
Yes there have been rate increases for a variety of reasons - not least the change to the Ogden Tables (regarding serious injury claims) and insurers putting rate increases up.
Thanks,
Dan -

Hi Kev,
Thanks for the question and it's not quite that straightforward.I believe if you are buying a Category C or D Total Loss then the purchase price will be significantly less at the outset than a non-written off one.
So if it is again stolen or written off the settlement figure will reflect that reduced valuation.
It can't reasonably be expected by the purchaser to be indemnified for an amount in excess of what the vehicle is worth. That's effectively the insurance 'contract' - placing the insured in the same position they were following an accident as they were pre-accident.
I hope that this helps.
