    My reason for asking was I have some personal cars covered on my traders policy and registered on the MID, if someone had this new cover provided by yourselves I would assume they would be covered to drive one of them fully comp going by the stipulations you have stated?

    I can only confirm the stipulations of our policy, I would recommend contacting the provider of your trade policy and asking them to confirm if the driving other cars third party only extension will cover them to drive a vehicle listed on your policy.

    Quick question Dan, if a car was insured under a trade policy does that still count as the vehicle being insured by someone else?

    It would depend on each individual insurance company and their policy wording as to whether or not you are covered.

     

    At the very least the car would have to have sufficient insurance to show that it appears on the MID database.

     

    Most insurers stipulate that the car must not be owned, hired or leased to the individual; they must have permission of the actual owner of the car itself. Some insurers also stipulate that it can't be a courtesy car or a car being leant by lent by an employer or partner.

     

    So to summarise, I would say it depends on the policy and to check with the insurer.

    Hi guys and girls,

     

    Hope you don’t mind a new thread. Adrian Flux Insurance now offer a new extra benefit which is available to add to a policy called FlexDrive. In short, if you have the ‘Driving other cars’ extension on your policy, which will only give you cover against third party risks, this ‘top-up’ policy will increase the cover to a comprehensive level giving up to £20,000 worth of cover for the car you are driving.

     

    I'm not trying to give it the hard sell here - I just thought with it being unique as far as I know in the market, it was worth talking about.

     

    It does have some restrictions; you must already have the driving other cars third party only benefit on your policy (this doesn't buy you the extension), the car must be insured, not belong to you, or be registered at your address. It can only be added to an Adrian Flux insurance policy.

     

    The policy is perfect for someone who has friends or relatives who are ‘in to’ their cars like you and I. Using someone else’s car with just third party cover is always a bit awkward, especially if something happens!

     

    It won’t suit everyone I know, but for people like you and I who love their cars, it could be very handy. At £24.99 a year it’s very reasonably priced.

    Insurance renewal

    Sucks that my insurance renewal falls in the most expensive month of the year!

     

    Searched around a few places, spoke to Adrian Flux and Prestige and they were wayyyy too expensive.

     

    Re-quoted with Admiral and together with my daily runner Polo, cheapest they could do is £1500...I'm guessing this is bumped up due to the 6 points I picked up in Wales :(

     

    Going to check with Sky and Chris Knott tomorrow as well to see if they can do any better.

     

    Any other recommendations?

    Why is the 350Z so good on insurance?!

    I am 50 with 30+ years but was overseas for 4 years so lost all my NCB - £550 with Flux due for renewal in a few month so who wants my business ?

    Thought I would share with anyone else interested in purchasing a Z at my age, adrian flux was able to cover me for as little as £1600 with 2years no claims, which when you take into account the car, I believe is a bargin! Would highly recommend them over elephant (my previous) who wanted £1300 to take me to the end of my policy (6months). Also would like to note their customer service is fantastic !

    Insurance mix up!

    okay so I'm about to dive into buying my first zed after receiving a quote from my current insurer Adrian Flux, however when I go to retrieve the quote they tell me that they put down that I had owned the car for 3 years! I'm 22 with 4 years NCB and it went from £1200 on my own to £2500+ with my mother on the policy!!! kind of disgusted but nothing I can do I guess!!!

     

    Does anybody have any recommendations for me?
