  1. Lightcliffe Nissan (BAD), back from holidays jump in 370z and it wont start, battery is flat. Phone Lightcliffe for advice to be told no technicians in today and I need to phone RAC. RAC came out and started car, checked battery and said it was knackered, car is 2 years old and has 5k on the clock, phoned Lightcliffe again and they said that they could not sort out a battery until Tuesday. After a heated discussion with 4 different people and them also speaking to the RAC man (who had a battery) they said I had to take the car to them and leave it, there technician would check it out on Monday. I took the car down to be greeted by the master technician and another technician, these same people who were not available earlier. I was given a VW UP as a courtesy car, only fumes in the tank, to say that I'm pis--d of is an understatement. The dealer principle and sales people all have decent cars plus they have 2 GTR's and 2 370z's (used) on the forecourt. Quick to take your money but absolutely no customer services, avoid at all cost.
  2. If given the option Then I probably would go on the course. This is more of a heads up for those like myself, that did not realise what these mobile cameras can do. The paperwork is completed now I just have to await the punishment, been told different things by mates, £60 & 3points, £60 + costs & 4 points, possible course and then someone mentioned £1000 & 6 points
  3. I got a letter from the postman today, it contained a letter from the Police what did I learn from this! that the Z accelerates very quickly from 50 - 82mph (60 zone, not in a built up area), that you can get done for speeding whilst overtaking (large wagon), that even though I saw the camera van it was on the opposite carriageway and I was going away from it, that the laser cameras they use can catch you for up to a mile last speeding fine I got was in 1990 so a bit disappointed.
  4. Cheers all, thanks for the advice, I will give the megs a try at the weekend
  5. Hi Ewan27, I'm based in West Yorkshire I have not tried detailer/clay as I don't have or have ever used it, I may have to buy some at the weekend and give it a go. cs2000 I could not believe it, it has been on the car for less than 8 hours but after wiping it off it left a dull stain in the paintwork, you do not see it looking down on the bonnet but when you look across the paintwork, I will try the clay at the weekend.
  6. Went to the coast today, came back to the car to find a seagull had left a large deposit on the bonnet I tried to wipe it off with an autoglym wipe but it was too baked on, when we got home I soaked it in water and wiped it off. Unfortunately it has marked the paintwork, I tried polish but nothing, I tried a little t cut and polish again, the mark is not as bad but is still there. Any tips on how to sort it out, it is a Le mans blue 370z (I do not own a polishing machine) Cheers.
  7. On my way to Bridlington this morning around 09:00hrs I spotted a 350z just coming on to the roundabout as I was turning off, anyone on here
  8. Twice in one day, around 09:30 this morning on your way up to King cross lights, I was one of the 2 old guys jogging down the road towards SB, I had a red t shirt on. Then this afternoon, sorry I did not see you until the last minute I was in my own little world
  9. Yellow 370 GT, parked well away from everyone else in the Morrison's car park in Illingworth, 19:00 last night !

    Window Tints

I've recently looked into having my glass tinted, I'm led to believe that the law states that both front side windows must allow 70% light transmission. Having spoken to very reputable local company offering this service it appears that the OEM side windows on the 370 are pretty much on the legal limit! This is not uncommon on new cars. I was also informed that my insurance could be invalidated by the application of a tint film, it can actually prevent access through the glass in the event of a RTA. I cannot see window tints affecting our access if you are involved in an RTC, on the fire appliances we have glass punches, glass saws & battery powered saws (used on the windscreen) plus many other tools, if all else fails we have Holmatro and Weber, these turn most cars into convertibles within a few minutes
  11. Ok thanks for that atkin666, looks like a trip up to Malton later in the year !!!
  12. Cheers and thanks for the advice, a couple of things to think about there. Atkin666 if the car needed any updates or had any fault codes could you rectify these, also will I still have the roadside recovery that I have if serviced by a Nissan dealers.
  13. Hi, Just after a bit of advice, my 370z will be due it's P2 service in December. I was in my local Nissan dealer yesterday so I asked them how much and what it included, £305 oil & filter, air & pollen filters. The car is under 2 years old so still under warranty, should I stick with the dealer (Lightcliffe Nissan), Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with them, Are there any good independent garages that you would recommend and can they carry out any updates that maybe needed and finally is the price reasonable ? Thanks in advance, Colin
  14. From one Colin to another, thanks for that
  15. Hi, does anyone know if this affects all 370's or only the 2009/10 models, I have a 61 reg and have just phoned my local dealer (Lightcliffe Nissan), they said that there are no recalls for my vehicle
  16. Thanks for the links Gudzy, can't do the Wales trip in May, some of those roads in the other link look very nice. I have done the Ripponden road many times, not a bad stretch except for a few bumps and the sheep.
  17. Hi, that would be me, really enjoying the car just need some better weather and good roads. On the subject of roads can you suggest any good ones locally to go burn some carbon out of the exhaust if you know what i mean. Where abouts in HX are you Aliensurfer ? Gudzy, I was out for a walk with my wife a couple of weeks ago, we walked behind you as you had your head under the bonnet, I did think about saying hi to you, but then thought you might think i was a bit strange
  18. Hi Johnny A, or anybody else who has had this problem, did you have any joy with Nissan or the dealers ? I have the same problem my car. It has 2500 miles on the clock and I find it annoying and embarassing when driving in slow traffic in town. Iam wondering whether or not to contact the dealers and ask them to have a look at it
  19. Hi Guys, thanks for the replies, I have sorted it. I had highlighted a choice under speed camera warnings, cant remember how it was worded but something like (on chosen routes), I have now turned this off and my warnings work again
  20. Thanks for the replies, yes it is a 370z , I think you are misunderstanding me. Being a male I enjoy pushing buttons and making adjustments before I fully understand what I am doing. The system did used to warn me to speed cameras, even when listening to music it would interupt to say that I was approaching one. After playing around with the settings, as you do, I must have set something that I should'nt have
  21. Hi, Can someone please offer some advice, whilst driving along my local roads I used to get a verbal warning from the sat nav (even if I was not using it) that I was approaching a traffic camera. Yesterday I actually used the sat nav to find a destination in a city that I do not know, lots of speed cameras yet I did not get a single warning. I have checked the settings and the traffic camera warning is highlited (lit), I have driven through my local cameras today and no warning was given. We have only had the car a few weeks so still learning, I have looked through the handbook and cannot find any other info other than what I have done above. It is a 61 plate with connect premium, am I missing something ? Thanks in advance, Colin
  22. Thanks for that Colin, not a must have but would have been nice to have, my Audi used to have it and it was useful in summertime, cheers, Colin.
  23. Hi, I have a 2011 coupe, in the handbook it says that the electric windows can be operated by using the intelligent key, I do not seem to be able to do this. I have tried to re initialise the windows as it says in the handbook but still no joy, am I missing something ? cheers, Colin.
  24. Thanks for all the welcomes, yes Bockaaarck she is very nice
  25. Hi Gudzy, yes that would be me, on my way to Pye Nest.
