  1. Outstanding skills, Well inpressed
  2. Thank you, who would have thought my initials would be so apt
  3. I built a garage to protect my Z from dust, not sure if i'm taking paint protection too far . My work colleagues have found this very amusing !!
  4. Can you hear the fuel pump when you first turn the key, sounds like fuel isn't getting through? Just a thought.
  5. Alex said the same, I'm swapping out the engine, it's the best option in the long term What I will do is strip the old engine down to see what was wrong and build up some VQ experience at the same time. At least that way when I'm left with a box of bits it won't matter!! Thanks for replying.
  6. Hi Alex, Thanks for the pictures. Do you have a number that I could contact you on? Thanks Jason
  7. Thanks Alex, I've had the screw driver to the ear and it sounds quite loud at the front top front right of the engine so that could be a tensioner issue. However, when I got under the car it sounded loud there too but couldn't pick up anything with the screw driver trick. I have an 07 rev up engine, I'll take it to the garage and see if they can better locate the sound but may have to consider the replacement option. I'll PM you reference that if that's Ok. Thank you.
  8. Hi, I've had my Z for just over 8 years now and its just started knocking!! :( It's a sad Z day. I've kept the oil at the top mark since having the car changed the oil and filter, checked the tightness of spark plugs but it's still knocking. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_khbXaHwcr4&feature=youtu.be
  9. I've ordered an insert. I'll report back when its in.
  10. I did read that thread and was still confused! should have followed your advice ZMANALEX. I'll check out that thread adaptor thanks for the link
  11. So, after searching the forum for the thread size I opted to follow the M12 X 1.25 advice. It turned out to be the wrong choice as I actually have the M10 x1.25 thread .. Grrrr. I now have a rather cool Top Secret billet gear knob all the way from Japan sitting on the shelf whilst I work out where to find a thread adaptor. I did think about sending it back and exchanging it but its not how the company operates so I need to adapt and overcome. Any ideas where I can get a thread adaptor.

  13. Hi Mate, PM sent regarding spacers.
  14. My engine developed a high pitched buzzing noise a little like an electrical bee stuck under the bonnet. The noise became louder as the engine warmed up and was driving me insane. I decided to take it to Nissan in the belief that they may be able to diagnose the issue quickly and without changing lots of things first, how wrong was I!! £500 later I have 2 new idler pulleys and new belts all of which did not fix the buzzing engine noise!. The technician stated on his report that the resonating noise (electrical buzzing noise to me) was possibly coming from the Oil Filter area and was most likely blocked. As I couldn't bear to hand over another £100 I carried out an oil an filter change myself and can happily report all is well in the engine department, just not in my wallet.
  15. Thanks guys, I know its a gamble to take it to Nissan with the risk of paying mega money and to be honest I wouldn't if I knew of a better place near Bristol. I had a great garage in Durrington where I used to take my Skyline but i'm too far away now. Still it's good to see the Nissan guy was honest on this occasion and I came away with a little faith.
  16. Happily moving through the stop start traffic to work on Thursday and bam No Gears!!! As I stood admiring the lines of the 350 from the safety of the kerbside whilst the rest of Bristol traffic made its way around a new obstacle I couldn't help but think ... This is going to be EXPENSIVE. I got the car recovered to NISSAN where the foreman explained in detail how he has had to repair numerous 350 boxes!! and it costs thousands. To be honest I felt bloody awful. I had to get a bus home too so my day was totally @*!#. Anyway in came the dreaded call.... I have some very very good news came the voice, a nut had fallen off and jammed the box. £160 latter we were on our way and the gears feel so tight and precise now The technician said though that the gearboxes on the z are very noisy and it is a characteristic as is a noisy thrust bearing? any of you guys experience this... a very relieved Jase
  17. Hi mate, the steps really look the part, were they easy to fit? im looking to get some in the neare future.
  18. Car had a new clutch and flywheel before i bought it. Fitted around 30000 miles. I'm no expert but i'd expect a little more life out of it. I had the same one in my Skyline up until she went at 101000 miles on her. I thought the Z would be as tuff.
  19. Thanks for the advice guys, It normaly happens form 1st to 2nd, or 3rd to 2nd. Cars an 07 plate with 46000 on the clock. I had a skyline before and 2nd was a nightmare until warm then it was fine. I will try the oil remedy but just wanted to make sure it wasn't a gear problem. I'm a little happier now i know you guys have a simular experience.
  20. So Guys, Iv'e had the Z for a couple of months now and i'm looking for a little comparison. Is it me or are the gears a little stiff to select. I have an audi A4 and in comparison there positively easy to engage? I have had the car looked at and nothing seems un toward. I'm thinking its standard for the Z. Any feedback would be appreciated. Jase
  21. Thanks again for the welcome, no probs Tattman I need to take some pictures asap and get them on the site. So far the Z is doing ok, Been back to the garage to have steering aligned and got a bit of ticking noise coming from the rear drive shafts which they wont do anything about also getting 1st and 2nd looked at as they can be difficult to select. hopefully when those small issues are addressed it will be sweet as !!
  22. Thanks for the warm welcome, the new website looks great.
