  1. Had a closer look when ordering there, you claim the offer from black circles, pay for the MOT then send them a copy of the pass certificate and Black Circles refund it minus £5. Aparrently. Posted the prices I got here.

    Pilot super sports

From www.blackcircles.com (they have some association with Tescos). Michelin Pilot Super Sport 245/45 R18 Y (100), Reinforced £197.71 x2 £395.42 Michelin Pilot Super Sport 225/45 R18 Y (95), Reinforced £196.08 x2 £392.16 Additional Fitting Fee £5.00 1 £5.00 Total cost: £792.58 Plus I selected the MOT for a fiver deal so paid another £5 with the order and after I pass the MOT due next month I can claim back most of the fee from Black Circles.
  3. I've been trawling for opinions myself for a couple of weeks. General consesus seems to be MPSS are the preferred option. FK453s are not too bad as a cheaper option but may wear a bit faster. Can get a full set of MPSS on blackcircles.com for about £787 so I'm probably going with that. They also have an MOT for a fiver promo going so bonus!

In Belfast by the way so no CostCo around.

I only need fronts for the MOT but going to do all 4 - that's what the prices above are for. If I'm not getting ripped off then I'm happy enough to stick it on the credit card and pay it off over a few months knowing I have a great tyre at a fair price.

I'm looking at the minute and torn between FK453s at £579 or splash out on MPSS for £787. I'm no race driver and this is a BIG spend for me but the consensus seems to be that the Michelins are the best but most expensive option. Guess I just want to know if this is a normal price for MPSS or if it's way too much (from blackcircles.com and marginally cheaper than the price from some local tyre shops, who I don't really trust).
  7. Spacers arrived, got great service from CS! One box (still sealed from factory) was missing bolts, CS had some across the water to me in record time. Offered plenty of advice on other things too. Sound.

    Spacers fitted!

Aaargh! Mine are in the post! Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait.
  9. I'd like in on this too, please. I don't detail but would like to start taking better care of her. With no knowledge of what I need, this seems like a good in road!
  10. Cheers Richie, I'll definately try that. (I'm starting to develop hearing problems caused by my current solution of maxing out the sterio!)
  11. Don't imagine the OPs still about to advise on a good course of action for this. Having owned my 04 zed for 8 months I finally tracked the intermittent rattle to the alarm led. The slightest touch of a finger stops it but I don't fancy using blue tac or glue on the dash!
  12. The info below is more focused on drink driving offences but it seems that if you have a previous conviction but it is now 'spent' they are obligated to ignore your response, so whether you lie or not can't be taken into consideration; they are obligated to ignore it completely. Same should apply to convictions of speeding offences, so taking the conviction will likely only effect you for 5 years max. http://www.financial...convictions.htm How long before a conviction is spent is a different matter. If you get a fine it is 5 years. Most commentary seems to say if you get a disqualification and a fine then the 5 years for the fine trumps say a 12 months disqualification. However, this is NI legislation and England/Scotland/Wales may differ, Table A and paragraph 8 in the below seem to contradict this; http://www.legislati.../1908/article/6 "A fine or any other sentence subject to rehabilitation under this Order, not being a sentence to which Table B or any of paragraphs (3) to (8) applies. - Five years" " (8) Where in respect of a conviction an order was made imposing on the person convicted any disqualification, disability, prohibition or other penalty, the rehabilitation period applicable to the sentence shall be a period beginning with the date of conviction and ending on the date on which the disqualification, disability, prohibition or penalty (as the case may be) ceases or ceased to have effect."
  13. Have a look at the exterior lining of the wheel arch for damage.
  14. The little bodywork placeholders where other models have headlight washers aren't placeholders, they're pop-out headlight washers! Yelped with joy at the discovery of a new button last week.
  15. Hello & welcome. I'm a newbie too, will keep an eye out for you about Belfast!
  16. Have exactly the same on my 04. Just had a bodywork guy price £300 to fix with no guarentee it won't come back. So, priced a new bonnet at the local dealer...£332+vat. Was expecting much more than that. New hood would still need painted and lacquered though.

    De-smugged

Haha. A new exhaust is on my list. But I actually like the sound of the standard one! Perhaps its because I'm new to the whole nice-car-scene. Must get someone to rev mine around a car park so I can hear it from outside. Not many tunnels in Belfast

    De-smugged

Past a moded celica in my 8 year old stock 350z a few weeks back in heavy traffic on the Westlink in Belfast. Had a massively smug grin on my face as I dropped a gear to give him a whiff of my exhaust note (I'm a relatively recent owner). Within 20 seconds a GT-R cruised past me on the outer lane. He stole my smugness. Temporarily.
  19. Oh yeah, nearly forgot, a new passenger side window motor is on that list too!
  20. A gunmetal grey one came in a turned right along the Titanic dry dock earlier this week. Has been back at least once. I sit at the window beside the barriers. My team mates, who have been complementing me since my purchase back in May, all pointed and laughed out "ha ha, common as muck". I do like the gunmetal grey though.
  21. I went from a 1.4 Fabia to a zed. Absolutely love it. I also had the luxury of time when buying mine but eventually went back and bought one of the first ones I looked at. Don't rush, hold out for a good one and you will love it.
  22. Stubby is definately on the list, but want a plainish one that still gets a decent signal. What do spacers do? Are they to push the wheels out a bit? Going to see a local bodywork guy tomorrow about a couple of blemishes on the bonnet. And I'm told by my mechanically minded friend that the front discs need done within a few thousand miles (and that it'll be expensive!). After that the non-urgent list is... Leather (got a die in the post today, thought I'd ordered the whole kit). Stubby. Z Badges. Replacment gear knob (it's a little worn, want to replace like-for-like) Sterio 3.5 jack mod. Exhaust (still has the factory fit, it's an '04 and has been patched once by a previous owner). Tyres (early next year some time) Wheel refurb (maybe when getting tyres done). Some pricey things (for me) at the bottom of that list. Any other big jobs I might end up with on an 8 year old?
