  1. Its not that the bell housing adapter plate is too thick and so you're not getting full disengagement of the clutch and therefore not full return on the pedal?
  2. Suppose you can only compare times at same venues as running on different surfaces are like different tyres for 1\4 mile runs. We always just wanna go faster though! All setting are personal of course but I'm softest of 2 on the front and hardest of 3 on the rear with Eibachs, I know you're on different bars so not sure where we're at with comparing the two. The oem bars must be very soft though as changing them does make a huge difference. The SPL arms allow up to -4 degrees (measured on car dependent on ride height) and allow an extra degree on caster but they do come at a price! I personally think if you're wanting to improve the front end for track work you can justify the price as they contribute so much to aiding front end grip. SPL have just changed to a billett arm (V4) for the 350z, not sure if that's bumped the price higher or maybe there's some deals around on the V3 arms as a result!?

One thing I really enjoy about track days is seeing and hearing the cars under load on circuit......not just revving in a car park or at a show Sharing the track with such top end stuff at places like the 'Ring and Spa it makes even out laps, cool down laps fun and even when you're on what you think is a quick lap being overtaken like you're standing still isn't all that bad either sometimes.........just as long as its not that Rover metro at Cadwell again that is!!

  5. Got to be done.....chassis mods are what make the biggest changes to any car! I went with solid top mounts all round, reduces all the flex from oem rubber items and allows dampers to do there thing flex free. Feel your pain, good parts are lots of £££
  6. 12.2 1/4 mile time while spinning the wheels through 1st and 2nd is a very fast time! Totally agree on its just enjoying a day out with the car and friends that important! For me there's never any champagne spraying after being out on track its all about having a good time! Re chassis set up, definitely think next on your list to improve things further is the front upper arms. Adding caster adjustment gives you increased negative camber on the outside wheel as you turn in to the corner which makes the tyre bite in more and combats further the understeer! With such a heavy car its never gonna go completely if you're a bit keep to throw it in to a corner but smooth wheel inputs on turn in, so's to not transfer the weight too quick and overcome the grip, get the front hooked up then drive out under power and let it lean on the outside rear is what I try for. Get on the power a bit early and it can push the front wide instead. Stiffen the rear anti roll bar and firm up the rear shocks gradually till the rear begins want to play if it wants to understeer too much.

  8. It's definitely better than sitting on the motorway! No probs, if its only a couple of us at least its easy to keep together.....never lead a group before!
  9. This has some nice routes on it, you can go through Warwick (it is very nice) but its probably easier to just hop on/off the motorway to bypass it. Up to you though not sure what time you'd like to get there? When you've finished up at the Museum this little figure of 8 is worth a run round
  10. Yeah although if there’s time there’s a little loop around Gaydon that’s worth doing brings you out just south of the museum. I’ll map it later and see what you think

  12. Do like the pic at launch with nose up, ass down stance showing weight transfer pushing the rear tyres into the ground!! What 1/4 mile times did you achieve?
  13. If you get a bit of pressure then gone I would say the seals have gone in the master cylinder.
  14. Well if you ever fancy making some blue paint shiney then give me a call, I'd like to learn from the master! I really struggle to get a good finish when washing cars! That quite a step up in size mate! Wait till they're wrapped in new sticky rubber too be different again!!
  15. Well done Ross.....elec/wiring faults are the worst in my world, glad you got that sorted. Re clutch.....not sure what the Nissan method is but mine has always been crack bleed nipple, depress clutch pedal, lock off nipple, release pedal (repeat) making sure you don't run out of fluid on the way. But annoying with the clutch as the pedal wont return so needs pulling up every time but that works a treat. Does the fluid drop as you depress the pedal? Are you getting any feel/weight to the pedal at all?
  16. Another few pics from dropping into what remains of Circuit Reims. Been meaning to visit for a while now so felt good to finally make it. The place has a great feel about it and you can imagine how it would've been buzzing on race day as the like of Clark, Moss, Hawthorn and Collins came blasting down the long long straight between the grandstands to take victories there! There is a foundation that are restoring the facilities and doing a great job of balancing cleaning it all up but making sure the history remains,

  18. Totally agree with you! The Dutch seem to have a lot of know how when it comes to suspension, I went with Motion Control Suspension because of Jerome van Gool being behind it. Being local and friends with one of the best in the business round the corner from you who are making you a bespoke setup is a right result!! You'll have a great setup with them on board.....look forward to seeing them
  19. Thanks! Its come along way when I look back at it all Cheers! I've never been to Spa, I did a bit of homework on it before I went but every car is different so you have to feel your way round. Its got a great mix of corners through out the lap, few late turn in lines due to late apex's and corners where you sacrifice on the exit of one to better the next etc which all keeps it interesting and fun but also makes you come away feeling like there's so much to learn and so much speed left to have...........the perfect excuse to go back!
  20. Was a bit of a last minute decision to go as the dates were perfect for dropping in coming home from hols driving to France, so glad we did it as it is great circuit.......just book it and go! Car felt good round there just a shame few corners are right between gears so more than not I left it in the higher to go easy on the car as its so far from home! Not the place to break something! Sneaking a down shift to 4th to take Eau Rouge would be hitting the brakes at indicated 135mph ish Agreed! Its a great car........reliable too Cheers, was that Me or the track! I try to drive smooth and the fast double apex left if taken right is just one steering input which feels pretty nice! Track is super smooth too, couple of bumps and some curbs you use others to miss......did I mention I had a great time and its a great circuit! To be far I think that one was on an out/in lap........there was actually a massive speed differential on the day which meant clear laps where rare which was a shame, but it was OK
  21. I had a DE for a couple of years before buying my current HR car.......quite an upgrade isn't it! Intrax suspension.......great choice! I very nearly bought these myself, be good to hear how you find them. Enjoy the new Z!!
  22. Just a quick post as I've just got back from my 3000miles road trip finishing with Spa track day. Spa delivered on being a great circuit to drive......its not the 'Ring though.......Eau Rouge is every bit as exciting to fly up as I hoped it would be! Really didn't realise the run into it was so downhill though, camera's just make the place look flat! Would love to go back again as soon as I get an opportunity as there's so much more I left in terms of speed through out the lap, just needed more laps and not a massive thunder storm with torrential rain fall mid afternoon!! But then that's Spa and I guess I got the full experience with some wet laps in too! Brake ducting did the business with no issues as I had at Donington and Spa does test your brakes! Couple of high speed stops plus downhill braking zones so was very happy with that.............just a shame my rear discs have decided to squeal like a pig! Discs are quite scored etc so I think I'll give them a skim and see if that sorts them. RS42's on the rears have always been quiet in the past! Doing this kind of trip really makes me rate the Z for being able to deliver at doing everything plenty well enough! Was quite a lot of traffic........but here's a couple of clear laps I got
  23. That looks like a nice circuit! I ran Ohlins DFV's for a few years on an Mitsubishi Evo 5, fantastic suspension. Never known anything on road better at soaking up bumps and imperfections like they do. On track they do perform very well also but are limited by having single adjuster for compression and rebound. The KW's will offer 2 way adjustment but then just aren't as good dampers as the Ohlins are so there's pro's and cons.............I personally think I'd have the Ohlins over KW V3's every time. If you haven't already, uprating the anti-roll bars, bushings and installing adjustable arms through out so you can have proper track geometry set up on the car will make a massive difference to the car's handling..........as much if not more so than just swapping suspension alone Obviously its best of all to do it all!
