  1. Actually it's 2 airbags, bumper, both wings, headlights, bonnet, rad and mountings as well as everything around that and then possible damage to the engine where the rad was rammed into it. And then the loss incurred when you come to sell it after it's been written off, didn't seem worthwhile. I would have bought the car back to break it if I had somewhere to dump it but I don't :(

  2. Thanks everyone for your kind words, as said by you all the important thing is that she walked away without any serious problems :).

Sorry to hear about your car and good to hear your missus is ok.

Its a heavy car but I've always thought of it being a solid car. I would much rather have a wack in my Zed than my old Mk1 Micra.

Interesting you say this because shes now borrowing her dads old Mk1 micra to toddle about in

Sad to see .... But very glad to hear everyone is ok .... If a tad shaken up from it I expect :(

On a better note , there was a zed for sale at " simply jap" show on Sunday

    ... Night blue , frost leather , 57 plate HR , 45-47k ( can't remember) sat nav £9950 , there's a pic of it on here from the show.

Forum member ..... Can't remember who though !

Don't suppose anyone knows anything more about this, sounds like it would be right up our street.

  3. Hi all,

Our old Zed has been recently written off and we are in the market for a new one to replace it.

Were after a HR engine with <50k on the clock which has been well looked after with a full service history and GT pack.

Anyone who has one or comes across one please let me know :)

    Many thanks

  4. Hi all,

Sad times for us as our Zed has been in a horrible accident. The Mrs was driving to work and the long and the short of the story is that a van did a U-turn in front of her on a NSL road not knowing her and another car were there and (entirely legally and appropriately) overtaking him as he slowed down. Insurance are still messing about over liability but it wasn't her fault. The main thing is that she walked away fine bar some minor cuts and bruises. This is what the car looked like in the end:

Obviously the car has been written off!

I have to extend massive thanks to Andy and Mitz at CS, who allowed us to recover the car to them and sourced some alternate wheels and tyres so we could keep our rays with recent MPSS all around, and a stock exhaust to replace our now retrieved Miltek system. Also for your sound advice throughout this process which we have never been through before.

We are obviously sad to lose the car that we cherished, but we will not be gone for long, we are on the hunt for a nice low mileage HR instead. If anyone knows of one please let me know.

    Goodbye Zed :surrender:

  6. Hi all,

So I seem to have spent all weekend on giving the Zed a "proper clean" so I thought I'd share some pictures :). Also Im pretty sure Mitz and Andy at CS don't believe I clean my cars as I don't think they've ever seen them clean in 2 years so documented proof required :).

No intermediate shots as I totally forgot but the process was:

    Interior:

    Brush down the carpets

Megs interior detailing spray all round

Glass cleaner on the glass, dials and mirrors

    Hoover throughout

    Wheels:

Washed with wheel brush and Bilberry wheel cleaner

    Iron X

    Chemical guys wheel sealant

    Megs Endurance tyre gel

    Exterior:

Megs Gold Class car shampoo wash with lambs wool mitt

    Iron X

    Tardis

Machine polish with Megs 80 speed glaze

    Poorboys White diamond

    Collonite 476 wax

    Exhaust tips:

    Megs metal polish

Chemical guys wheel sealant (?who knows if that helps or not)

  7. :scare: glad you or your zed weren't hurt! Lucky.

Cheers BBK, yes that's very much the main thing

Ed, good to catch up with you again yesterday, if you need the tyre do let me know and I'll get it ordered for you... :)

Always good to catch up Mitz, thanks mate but I'm all good I think :)

  8. Hi all,

So Tuesday night I was driving back home along the M69 and had a rear tyre shred itself at 70mph :scare: :

    IMG_0968_zps2cda1d7e.jpg

Luckily it was fine and no one was hurt, changing a wheel on the hard shoulder at 11pm by iphone light wasn't much fun though.

Turns out it was a nail, think it had deflated the tyre and it was running flat and just killed itself.

The strange thing was the car felt fine, and all respect to the Zed when the tyre gave up there was a lot of juddering and noise but it kept running fairly straight and didn't try and kill me!!

Anyway just thought Id share my little adventure

  9. Just renewed our insurance. The Zed was £760, which is not bad I don't think. Mrs is 30, 15000 miles/year, 4 years NCB (protected), Business usage for both her and me. In comparison on my 1.8 civic with 5yrs NCB (im 28) it was £500.

I think our post code is pretty dodge as well.

  10. Yeah I get this a lot, mainly because the Zed is the Mrs' car not mine, every little while ill bug her to let me take it for a day/go for a drive etc. Then I go back to the Civic and I'm like "your not the same, I wish you'd just sod off". I expect this is how people who have affairs feel!!!!!

  11. +1 here for the milltek if you want to keep it as near to OEM as possible, had a cobra on ours for a bit but the drone at A-road/motorway speeds was annoying. Sounded good with your foot down though :)

Also I can recommend CS if you need anything Mitz and Andy were great sorting ours out.

  12. Don't know what anyone else thinks but looks a bit pricey to me. Really like the wrap though and looks tidy.

For comparison we paid 8.5k for our 05 GT spec with only 31000 on the clock over two years ago, and we paid a little over the odds for it then I reckon.

  13. Well the Zed is the Mrs' car - her previous was a 1.0L S reg Nissan Micra 3 door, in silver, I don't think I have a picture of it! Weve had the Zed over 2 years now and we both still love to drive it. Shes planning on upgrading to a GT-R in a few years.

She seems to have a thing for Nissan's :)

  14. I had some rim blades on my civic after I got the alloys refurbed, cleaned and everything exactly as they said didn't drive it for about 3x as long as they advised on the box and the first time we got to motorway speeds two of them flew off.

Rubbish basically, don't know why from the USA - Halfrauds used to sell them
