That Nismo one you showed looks like OEM import directly from Nismo Tochigi Factory. That also goes on the new Nismo as standard? Im guessing 6 Pot Brakes up front? Looks are deceiving it looks an inch bigger than 370 Nismo brakes.

Z1 probably have a deal with Nismo to supply and sell them

They're Akebono 4 pots up front with 15inch rotors.

Having recently (last month) done Snowdon, kudos on doing that with all that weight. I don't exercise, at all, and 7kg of camera gear on my back was too much for me 🤣.

I went up the Pyg and done the Miners. Really wanted to try Crib Goch, but glad I didn't. If I went back, I'd do it without any extra gear and make sure I trained beforehand.

Just have a cold shower before you go, you'l be fine. ;)

  3. It all depends on how you define “best”. And possibly how you define “car” if you want to be pedantic (which I usually do, admittedly).

That list of Nismo trimmed cars is a fairly broad range, so the label of “best” needs to be defined. Which is isn’t.

“Best car with a Nismo badge… in the last decade”

Remind me when the GT-R Nismo came out again?

GT-R Nismo was introduced in 2014. It was a truly appalling car, as literally (literally, literally. Not figuratively literally) everyone has always said. Including Nissan. And Nismo. And GT-R...

Also introduced within the last decade were:

    Juke Nismo

    March Nismo

    Note Nismo

    Sentra Nismo

Others still in production within the last decade (because it doesn't actually stipulate...):

    370Z Nismo

    Patrol Nismo

Mighty fine cars, every one. It's a mightly high bar. If you exclude the GT-R, obviously.

    ;)

  5. A quick scan of Auto Trader shows that all other things being equal, manual cars are still commanding a premium over autos, so the desirability point, at least generally, is clearly not "just a myth".

Whilst general trends are as irrelevant as other people's personal preferences or opinions, the fact does remain that the OP should be able to save a bit on initial outlay if they opt for an auto.

  6. Don't know about the measurement (and I'm too lazy to go check, frankly) but the standard S2000 "stubby" aerial fits, so if it fits that it should* fit the Z.

What I will say though, is that the mounting point is black, so I think it'll look odd fitted.

*Disclaimer, I take no responsibility if, for any reason (including, but not limited to, it being bigger or smaller in any way) if it doesn't.

EU has no issues buying convertible. So maybe Nissan should consider a convertible version for Europe lol. Only see it possible with a different EV model entirely.

Can't see them bothering to introduce a convertible if they can make, let alone sell, the standard hardtop version.

Then again, they've surprised me by bothering with a Nismo trim under those conditions, so who knows.

  8. Just as well no one's really buying it then.

From the numbers I've seen, they've only sold 942 in the US by the end of Q1 '23 accoridng to their own group reports. From what I can make out (albeit from less reliable sources - I got bored of looking before any official numbers for Japan) they're not shifting many more there either.

    but 20hp and auto only?

Dan, it's like you didn't even read the article.

    It's not just 20hp.

    It's a "noteworthy" 20hp!

I bet you feel silly now.

  10. It's the Government; assume they're going to charge you. Even if it's not in 2025, it wont be long after.

This was always going to happen. It was never a case of if, but when. Also, spoiler; it'll only ever increase in cost too.

  11. What differentiates Goodwood FoS from just about every other motor show - and the reason why many manufacturers are now choosing to reveal new models there - is that you get to see the cars do more than just sitting on a stand.

Dan is mostly right - it's busy, it's expensive and it's become a victim of it's own success.

However, I disgree that there's little to actual see (although there was less to see this year as Saturday was cancelled) - there's plenty to see whatever flavour of vehicle appeals (2 wheels, 4 wheels, historic, modern, road, race, rally, and just about everything in between). As said though, it gets busy and the hillclimb (especially the shootout on the Sunday) is the main draw so it's difficult to get a good spot and still be able to see anything else. As with any motorsport, you're going to see more of the hillclimb (and rally) runs on TV at home, but you'll miss out on everything else there.

Ultimately it depends on what you want from a show and setting expectations.

So glad that our OC is nothing like those other groups.

I suppose that's part of the beauty of a Zed.

It's not about outright power as there are so many faster choices out there.

But it has enough all round capabilities to put a smile on your face during daily driving

There's a slight irony that a 370Z appears within the first 30 seconds of the video...
