    Egged!!

The protien in eggs is good for paint but the shell scratches are not..................... Sorry it happened but it could have been worse, someone mentioned bricks
  4. You can buy a nut splitter for about £5. The ring of the splitter goes over the seized nut, you then turn a mandrel which has a cutting edge and it splits the nut and the nut just drops off leaving the stud/thread intact. They look like this and do a great job. http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalo ... GcQ8gIwAg#
  5. I recall that halogens die immediately and xenons die slowly with clues such as colour change and output, colour change coming first, although it seems odd that both are on the way out out at the same time? There has been some recent news about how much X are brighter that H so I reckon bulbs................ http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-16215106 Let us know what the outcome was to the problem please. Mick
  6. Yes it would be really good. I keep links to some threads here as a sort of database of 'how to!. Just a one liner would do.............. ........."the fault was in this case because of a, b, c.............. It would save people a lot of time.
  7. Hi, I look at loads of posts about problems people encounter and lots of responses about possible solutions, things to check etc. but I have not come across the results of the fault finding. It is a bit like reading a book and finding the last page or chapter missing. Am I wierd to think this and now get flamed It would be really nice if the threads had a conclusion. The person has taken the advice or not, cleared the fault and comes back and says what it is down to................. What do you think?
  8. Hmm. I am not bothered by snow etc. or even the people who cannot drive on ice etc. I am really bothered about the tons and tons of salt that get thrown down round my location in East Sussex. The council have already started dusting salt. Today I plumbed in a Meaco dessicant dehumidifier in the garage and I am keeping an eye on the weather and the salt dumping which will determine when the car goes into hibernation with its little battery maintenance plugged in. Well done to those who drive through the winter but I will just use the Isuzu Rodeo and trundle along

  12. The bit with the floor tiles was dead funny. He was soo annoyed with the damaged floor tile, but even more annoyed at the one that had been replaced and didnt match the colour!quote] I think that bit was put in to reveal his OCD or underline to the market the attention to detail in everything they handled. It did pop into my mind ~~ if it bugged him so much why didn't he do something about it ; I favour the marketing impression............
  13. Try to if spotted in time - I have only seen two in the last 10 days! Today, in front of me 06 plate gunmetal 350Z about 1.30pm turning onto the M23 northbound from A272 at Bolney. Gave a h/light flash.
  14. I think the just pressed the 'go' pedal and didn't realise they would become airborne
  15. Hmmm, thanks rabbitstew for the update but no explanation why they took the Evo for a 'spin'
  16. Yes I know it is an old story but I came across it today when I was doing some research who had a similar experience recently...................
  17. Oh dear, police joy ride Evo and crash............... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... s-car.html

    Fuel Stability

Just starting a car up every 4 weeks or so does not work. From experience I spent 5 years rebuilding an Armstrong Siddeley (1952) Whitley (18HP !) After sorting the engine and associated I then went onto to other things and run the engine up to normal temp every month. Over time problems developed in the carb and other fuel associated items. The valves also got tacky. I have no problems about electrics I just don't want to mistake about screwing up the V6 bits with stale fuel and oxidised bits! Hence the post...............

    Fuel Stability

Hmm complicated. Air helps the breakdown but also it seems that the fuel actually breaks down with a full tank to the brim and the air vent capped for storage. Came across this: http://www.musclecarclub.com/library/show/storage.shtml If you type in fuel stabiliser on Google there are dozens for car use. Basically I dont want to fill the tank with vroom fuel and then find when the salt/ice goes I then have to drain the tank and deal with varnished (from stale fuel) engine parts. What to do?
  20. Hello...... when the ice, salt and snow arrive here I will store the Z in the garage. Where I am (hill top) when the weather is bad tons of salt are scattered and even drivng the 4x4 last year was tricky in 3 foot of the white stuff. I have spent quite a bit of time reading about degradation of unleaded fuel. Has anyone used a stabiliser in the fuel when storing, if so were there any problems? ~ what did you use? ~ any comment? Thanks
  21. Hi, a bit late response. I got a second key cut and programmed to the car for £70. Timpsons in Haywards Heath, they have places all over the country. http://www.timpson.co.uk/services/70/remote-car-keys
