I think at the end of the day, yes it's going to be worth it but the car is 20 years old, has had some good maintenance carried out on engine but it is 20 years old has been tuned upto 500bhp (then de-tuned to 385) any car that's been put under that sort of strain is going to have potential issues and there's no way to guarantee it wont go pop without spending gazillions. I'll get test done anyway and just accept it will need a lot of money throwing at it in the future anyway.

I havent bought it yet Alex, I just wondered what everyone thought. And as for performance issues, dont tell everyone!! lol.

Someone once told me they're pretty pointless, who's opinion I would say is normally rock solid. Just wondered what the general consensus is?

Although I would say that someone has told me that a compression test is pretty worthless, they didnt explain themselves fully but I do give their opinion a lot of worth.

Ok so I'm about to pyut a deposit down on a car, fly over Friday, collect and ferry back. Never done anything like this! I don't think there's any VAT/Duty (yes I'm an accountant but it's not something I've encountered before), DVLA I think is fairly straight forward. It's a second hand car btw. Anything I need to consider? I'll update with what it is as soon as it's on.
