  1. +1 Good point by Ekona aswell, although I wouldnt class decent tyres as a performance upgrade, more of a necessity
  2. Make sure you check the inside pad on the rear. On mine the outside pad didnt look too bad but the inside pad was worn right through, they wear a lot quicker on the inside, I think thats due to less cooling. When they say 1k remaining they may just be looking at the outside pad
  3. not difficult to have them cut off and weld on your own style True, don't know if I would want to chop up something I have spent that kind of money on though, might have to go for the Tanabe instead
  4. Tarmac how would you say your Tanabe compares to the invidia and scorpion noise wise? Similar, or is it night and day
  5. Do Milltek offer different tips for the Zed system? I would have one if it had oem tips on it!
  6. I always thought the R390 had a twin turbo v8 with 500+ bhp
  7. The rev-up has slightly hotter cams, variable valve timing on the exhaust cam as well as the inlet cam (non rev-up only has it on the inlet). Performance wise there is bugger all in it really, the rev-up has a slightly flatter torque curve but the peak isnt as high. If you want a rev-up you will need to pay the 400 odd for tax sadly. Interior is a nice improvement over the older models. What is your budget?
  8. I didn't use a syringe for either the diff or gearbox oil, for the diff you just squeeze it out of the bottle , worked fine. For the gearbox run a 10mm hose through the engine bay down into the gearbox filler and fill from the engine bay. Job Done
  9. How long have you had the car?? I think I may have gone past you on the A12 Chelmsford bound a couple of Sundays ago (6th maybe).
  10. Slightly O.T maybe but what is that sat-nav unit the autotrader zed has in the original post? Not like my O.E unit in my 06. Also I paid about the same price for mine in the same colour / spec (with the proper sat-nav) 2 months ago, albeit with 8k more on the clock
  11. Ah that's ok then. I'm thinking of going for y-pipe then hfc's. Back section to come last at a later date! Mrev2 and a 5/16 spacer on the way now though to keep me occupied
  12. So just to confirm going from the 3" collector to the 2.5"(?) standard system wont cause any nasty rasping sounds?? Iv read in a couple of places that this can happen
  13. I thought I read somewhere the spacer has no gains with a revup lower plenum anyway only with the non-revup one (or Mrev2). That could be why you didn't see any gains....or maybe I just dreamt that as I cant find the topic now
  14. Hello! Im thinking of buying an aftermarket y-pipe for my 06 350z which will be used with the standard rear system. I notice all the y-pipes seem to have a 3" outlet size whereas the OEM system has a smaller sized pipe IIRC, does this cause any issues with sound/performance or does it make no difference? Thanks Stuart
  15. I got my 2006 Kuro black 350z with 48,000 miles for £9350 private so that sounds about right to me from a trader.
  16. Yeah it is a bit of a squeeze under the hood, handles the power pretty well though, fully coilovered with group A mk1 escort front end and an LSD on capri 2.8 running gear at the back. Gets a lot of comments such as 'my dad had one of those in the 60's'....I don't think it made the windows in your house rattle when he started it up like this one though!
  17. Hey, im new to the forum and have recently brought myself a 2006 350z GT so thought id show off a few pictures. So far ive fitted a cosworth panel filter and replaced the gearbox, diff and engine oils with genuine stuff for peace of mine as the diff and gearbox oils were only 'checked' at the P3 service. Brought it with full Nissan service history, 48000 miles, full GT pack with sat nav. Anyway, few pics (couple of them include my dads 1958 V8 Ford 100E and a friends 1934 Blown V8 Ford Model B Rep) Thanks for looking!
  18. Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Its very unlikely ill be buying the first one I look at as im very fussy! Im hoping to look at a totally standard black 06 GT 294 with 50k on it , its up for £10,000, does that sound about right price wise?
  19. Hi guys Thought I would introduce myself as iv have just joined the forum and will be after a 350Z in the near future! I currently drive a Seat Leon Cupra R but im after some 6 cylinder refinement. Will have around 10k to spend so hopefully will be looking at a reasonably low mileage example (<50K) on an 06 plate or newer. Is there any meets around the north essex / suffolk area? Thanks Stuart
