  1. Haha, class! Thanks for all the responses chaps. Had no idea that there were two. I shall get under the bonnet and replace the duff one on the weekend.
  2. Hi chaps. I have searched this so please dont bollock me . All I managed to find were some post where people are discussing how pants the 350z horn is. Well mine is really bad, so quiet that any other car on the road wouldn't even hear it. Pretty sure it would fail it's next MOT on it. My previous 350z one was totally fine so I know that theres something up with this one. Does anybody have any ideas on what could be causing the issue? Or do I just buy a new horn and swap it? Havent looked to see what they cost but guessing they're cheap enough and easy enough to swap over? Cheers Steve
  3. Gently scratch the rest of that soft surface layer of rubber off. See what it looks like with just the black hard plastic underneath. Would probably look better than it does at the mo. My stereo volume knob was all scratched up like that on my facelift Zed. For some reason when I was sat in the car waiting for somebody to come out of the shop one day I started scratching the rubber off with my finger nail. Next thing I knew it was all gone and it's looks like new, lol.
  4. It's not just a case of pressing the reset button to sort it properly. You need to do the full sequence. I used this stupid youtube vid, followed the instructions fully about a month ago and it totally fixed mine straight away. Shouldn't be any need to strip it down or replace the motor or anything.
  5. On in the wet. Off in the dry. Much better driving experience with it off in the dry. The zed is easily controllable in the dry anyway, pretty predictable. Had an s2000 gt between owning my last zed and my current one . The s2000 was very sketchy and very unpredictable compared to the zed and had no traction control at all. Selling that and buying another zed made me realise that the Nissan is totally fine without the traction control in dry conditions. You seem to know what it's going to do anyway unlike the Honda. The s2000 gave too much confidence and no warning when it's had enough.lol. Amazing in the dry but lethal in the wet. Traction control is defo a good thing to have on a rwd.
  6. I had my previous zed when I was 23. It was a pre facelift however I was paying around £700 with Bell Insurance. They're ideal for young drivers with high insurance group cars. I'm not 25 with a facelift zed paying slightly less. I also recommend adding a second driver who is a sensible female driver with lots of years experience. Maybe your mum or something. Whether she drives it or not Let me know how it goes. Steve
  7. This could be a steal for somebody I reckon http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-NISSAN-350-Z-BLACK-/281014904560?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item416dcb26f0
  8. Yo, Do you still have the springs? Guessing they're S Tech? How much do they lower the car by?
  9. No it's a true dual. Two exhaust systems all the way back to the tailpipes from each cat. i'll get some more pics over the weekend.
  10. I'll be sure to get a video sorted ASAP. It's Eurosport stuff. The place had a very good reputation for exhausts, the two guys are really experienced etc so thought I'd give it a go and I've never been more pleased with a custom system. I've used powerflow in the past but really didn't like them, always way too loud. Longlife are a little better but the place I used for a longlife system on my s3 did I really poor job so didn't want to go back there. I didn't get hf cats no. May add some to it in the future though. I think he said he could fit them for £100 each which is very cheap I think. Maybe I should have done it.
  11. I can't imagine a 350z engine having head gasket failure at 49k especially with full Nissan service history as the chances are its been looked after properly. But then again you never know what may have happened to it really. If the coolant looks good etc its probably ok I guess. Maybe somebody has just done an oil top up during heavy rain or something. Could be froth from rain water getting in? Maybe you could check it out again in a week and if miles have been put on it in that time you should know if its ok? Does the seller have any explanation for it. I bet it's fine.
  12. Had this built a couple days ago. Sounds pretty nice. A little more grunt than the standard system but no drone what so ever at cruising speed. Just what I asked for. Showed the guy a picture of the HKS before I started to give him an idea and it's turned out pretty similar really, just with ordinary boxes. Fitted at Powells garage, Redruth, Cornwall. Let me know what you think.
  13. Sorry to interupt but would the whining happy more from cold then disappear when warm? Because mine makes some odd noises sometimes from cold
  14. Very nice. I definitely recognise that car. Was the previous owner on this forum or something? Sure I've seen pictures of it and recognise the Nismo plate.
  15. Hmm, ok well I think thats helped confirm to me that it's not worth the money. Thanks chaps
  16. Thanks for that response. Very true about the remap. So I would need to cough up another £300 or more to see gains anyway. I just can't see how it could give more gains than any other free flowing system. Exhaust gases can only be pumped from the engine so fast surely? Although he did say that Formula Ford are using them as well as various rally drivers.
  17. Hi chaps. My 350z is currently in having a true dual custom exhaust built. Spoke to the exhaust specialist in there today and he was talking to me about these vortex race flow and ecoflow boxes that they can supply and fit. Are there any exhaust specialists on here that can explain why having a spiral in an exhaust system would cause suction through the system and eliminate any back pressure? He claims that he has tried and tested them and they vastly improve torque, horsepower and MPG way more than any exhaust system and even more than a cat bypass. Easily noticeable gains. Do I go for it and give it a try or is it going to be a waste of money. He's also offering me two sports cats for £200 more. Should I do that instead or is that likely to sound horrible and loud and cause warning lights to come on? Hoping somebody can talk from experience on the Vortex exhausts. All opinions welcome please. Here's the Vortex website http://www.vortex-performance-exhausts.co.uk Steve
  18. So who followed me from Exeter to Cornwall on Friday night then?
  19. I may be interested. How much is the postage? What size are the tailpipes? You got pictures of it on the car? Steve
  20. Still got this exhaust? Get in touch and we'll have a chat about it. I may be interested. What size are the tailpipes?
  21. I like the colour. Buy it! Will be fine and it must be motorway miles anyway.
