  1. yea was going to do that but was worried about being so confined with an angle grinder. Last time I did an exhaust on my Megane 225 I used a grinder and the disc exploded quite close to my face. Only got small jacks so I said to myself I wouldnt do that again being so confined, lol. Would need the car up in the air or something. Well I may just take it to a garage or something then? How many hours labour do you think they'd charge for that? 1 or 2? It's cat back.
  2. How on earth does anybody manage to replace their exhaust system without taking to a garage? Tried to fit my new stainless system on Xmas eve but had to give up. The nuts were completely seized and soo rusty. Any tips? I lagged them in WD40 for ages as well. Its a 54plate. I was fuming. So looking forward to getting the system on.
  3. Does the volume fade up under acceleration? Lol, iv never noticed that before. I've been trying the silica packs. Hasnt made any difference. Only seems to work when I get the cabin temperature upto 32 with the climate control. But by then I've passed out. I'd love to know of a fix for it aswel. Any other decent cd players you can use as direct replacement?
  4. Spotted an 04reg 350z in Grey.Put his hand up to me on the police station roundabout, followed me up Morlaix Avenue. Are you on here?
  5. Oh I see. So are you saying that you doubt whether anybody would bother putting the old vin number stickers onto a new panel if it was replaced?
  6. Yea if you have Xenon headlamps you need the washers for MOT. There are some pics of the kit on my garage link. Pretty confident its genuine now though after what you lot have shown me and said.
  7. Or at least won't go any further above average anyway
  8. Very true. Mine will only be a weekend toy as I use the van during the week so hopefully the mileage will start coming closer to average again.
  9. Yea it's doing very well. Lol, are they not supposed to go onto high mileage or something? All the jap cars I've had in the past have handled high mileage easily way beyond 105000. I didnt even think anything of it to be honest, guessed it would be fine. Not bad, seems that it is a genuine full Nismo kit then. Managed to do a clean swap for this car for my 2001 X reg Audi s3 with 119,000 miles on the clock. Had the 350z fully serviced and checked out inside and out. Sorted all the niggley faults and seems that it's a decent example. Over the moon with it, had on around a month now.
  10. Hmm, interesting. Yea just had a look and compared it to the one in the photo and it does actually look genuine. And like you say it's 7 years old and now covered 105,000 miles so yea fair play I guess. The tips of the spoiler seem to be pretty much touching the bodywork of the car but with little black pads in-between. Does this also sound right?
  11. OMG, are they actually fibreglass? Do they chip and crack very easily because my front bumpers a bit buggered. Just looks abit crap and cheap but maybe it is genuine? Thanks, il have a look at those links now.
  12. Hi everybody. Does anybody know how you can tell whether a 350z Nismo bodykit is genuine or fake? Should it have a part number or nismo or anything like that stamped on it anywhere? Just a little suspicious as to whether this one is real. The seller of the car tried to tell me that it was factory fitted but I'm not convinced. Any info would be great. Thanks Steve
  13. Ah ha, so thats why I can't find a code for it Thanks
  14. Asked a friend to check my paint depth with a gauge around the car the otherday and found that one side and the bonnet was alot thicker. Wondering whether it had just been resprayed on one side or whether maybe it had been in a accident and had panels replaced aswel. I did notice that both door windows have the same numbers on them and all of the chassis vin number stickers are in place on each panel but was wondering whether there is anything stopping somebody from just taking them off the old panels and putting them on new ones? Doesnt seem like a very secure method of apply chassic numbers to panels, most manufacturers engrave them or something. Does anybody know whether it is just that simple to do this or should they rip or something? One of them does look slightly rippled. Am I worrying about nothing? Thanks Steve
  15. Hi everyone. Just out of interest, is it 100% necessary to disconnect the battery to reset your ECU on the Zed after fitting a Pop-charger, new exhaust system or Plenum spacer etc? Or will the ECU relearn everything after 200miles or so anyway? I haven't bothered disconnecting the battery as I don't seem to have a head-unit code, so hoping it would have sorted itself out, or will it definitely be beneficial to do this? Any info would be helpful. Thanks Steve
  16. 16/12/11 3.45pm. Was in some queuing traffic yesterday heading away from Matford business park towards the A30 for Cornwall and spotted a nice looking blue zed a couple cars back. I was the Grey Nismo one up ahead.
  17. Hmm. I had no option. Has been totally fine since though. Do.you think.it could have been a temporarily blocked injector maybe then? Havent had any warning lights and sounds normal now. Also it was very wet when it happened? Don't suppose that could effect anything? Thanks for the responses
  18. Pedal dance? Ok il have a look. Yes the spark plugs were changed. But I've driven it since and it's been fine. Misfire you reckon?
  19. Hi there. This evening I was driving and the engine management light started flashing, at low engine speeds more so. I first noticed that it sounded like it was running really rough, then noticed the light flashing. It then went away for a good 5-10 minutes and then briefly did it again for another minute or so. Then went again for 10minutes. Havent been in the car again since but I have a 200mile drive to do tomorrow so wondering whether it will be ok? Does anybody have any sort of diagnoses for this? Cat converters? They seem to look and sound fine. Just had a full service last week aswell. Sounds really rough only when the light starts flashing, almost like a subaru boxer engine or something. Think it losses power aswell but was totally fine and sounding fine after the light went away. Anyway im rambling. Somebody please help. Cheers Steve
  20. Are there any member on here from Cornwall or am I the only 350z owner, lol. I haven't seen a single other 350z on the road since getting it. Typical!
  21. Lovely, thanks alot for that advice, yea it's a UK model luckily. I've just sent him an email.
  22. Ideal cheers chaps. Thanks for the info!
  23. Ideal, cheers for the responses. I've checked and it is just the heat shields luckily. I had ordered high flow cats aswel after looking under the car in the dark. Now got a refund before they had sent them luckily. And yes the exhaust is standard, im sure of it. There are pictures in my profile I believe. Thanks
