  1. Inspired by his love for Manta Rays! https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=manta+ray+photos&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari#biv=i|0;d|_eo8-fBTyIH4wM:
  2. What a mess, must be the worst looking car I've saw in years. Owner must have spent a fortune! http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/vauxhall/astra-vxr/-stunning-one-off-astra-vxr-showcar/986307
  3. I really like the 18inch rays. I had a 2008 Astra VXR with 18's then a 2009 vxr with 19's. My last car was a bmw with 18's and my current bmw has 19's. I really think the 19's wasted the driving experience on both cars. 19's do look great though!
  4. Hope someone has frapped him or I'm joining the nissan micra convertible forum!
  5. I'm sure someone will be along to answer your questions regarding performance and weight. If possible i would avoid waiting until June to buy your zed, especially if you decide on a roadster as prices peak from may until August. If possible i would buy ASAP and spend the winter months getting it ready for summer and you will save £££££!
  6. If you press and hold the open button on the key fob the windows will go down allowing easier entry and exit. Then hold the lock bottom and the widows will go back up and the car will lock. Hope it helps.

    BMW M3

I sold my zed last year and I'm now driving a new E92 320i m sport plus. Ok it's nothing like an m3 performance wise but looks really similar. I could have probably bought a m3 and another zed for what I paid for my new car but I wanted looks and to keep running cost down. If I could turn the clock back I would have kept my Zed as it wouldn't have depreciated anymore and it was faultless. I will by another zed as i feel that it's an out right sports car and it hasn't been designed to be numerous different models. Also I would never buy a E92 M3 over a really nice E92 335i m sport!
  8. No probs mate, he's actually in the middle of nowhere! It's probably around 60 mile round trip for me.
  9. When I click on the link it takes me straight onto the face book page and the last first 2 cars on the time line is my cars. Are you on his web page or facebook page? Oh yea ... got it now ... that's my Bentley GT further down I thought that, he said some of the stains on your seats were murder to remove! Lol.
  10. Sorry dude never thought. If its a problem I'm more than happy for my thread to be deleted. TBH I don't think he needs much advertising as he's really busy!

  12. This is a link to the detailer's Facebook page who detailed both my car and my wife's car. My car is the white BMW Coupe and my wife's is the red mini. What does everyone think? http://www.facebook.com/pages/Clyde-Valley-Detailing/136903276371092?ref=ts&fref=ts
  13. Thanks mate, I'm really happy with the results!

  15. I've had both my bmw and wife's mini detailed in the last 2 weeks. I got a full print out of every stage of the details from the detailer today. The sealer used on both cars was Carlak 68 (or carlack 68?) and the wax used was autosmart wax. The detailer did an awesome job. Has anyone used these products and if so what did they think of them?

    Gutted

Sorry to hear that mate, hope it all gets sorted out asap!
  17. Really like the look of the Saab, I remember asking my brother in law, who has had most cars and who is a lot older than me, what the fastest car he owned. He said Saab turbo. This was about 23 year ago, and he had wend g reg bmw 325i, lotus esprit, etc etc. So must have been a good car back in the day!
  18. I've been thinking about buying a project car to work on. I don't want any VX or fords etc. I looked at old 911's etc but nothing caught my eye. Anyway, I took my wife's car to get detailed today and when I went into the detailers garage there was a pristine 1992 Saab 900. I know it wasn't a turbo but it was pristine. The guy paid 200 quid for it and reckons it now worth about £1000- £1500. I think I want one but probably a turbo. Any advice welcome!
  19. A good part of the saving is my fuel costs, I am saving about £250 a month on fuel alone which isnt to be sniffed at. I looked at depreciation figures over 3 years. Looking on Autotrader, based upon me doing about 20k a year for 3 years my 123d would loose maybe 2500->3000 a year. Insurance is 1/2 the price of the zed, the road tax is 110 compared to 460. Tyres are more expensive, servicing is about the same. No MOT costs as the cars not even a year old atm, plus I still have dealers 3 year new car warranty to cover any defects which arise. Actually, ive just roughly recalculated and its about £600 a month its costing me atm. Of course, figures vary all the time, so when i come to sell things may turn out different. Good for you mate, also you may not have a zed but to have a really nice new car. I liked my 123d but would have preferred the coupe, also I was only doing around 3k miles a year so couldn't justify a diesel. TBH I only bought it because it was the fastest 1 series that I could buy new in nov 2009 as they had stopped making the 130i and the 135i wasn't out yet. I've just bought a new 320i sports plus edition coupe and I'm loving it. Took my wife's mini to get detailed at Crawford, its a 56 mile round trip, mixed driving and I was getting 42mpg. I'm happy with that as its only just turned 800 miles so engine will still be tight.
  20. I agree. Its a totally different type of driving experience. My 123d is only about 0.5 seconds slower on 0-60 than my zed was and has more torque. Even now when i boot it to over take the acceleration really does surprise me, it just pulls, pulls & pulls. EVO magazine comparing the old 123d hatch (mines a newer coupe) against a Mazda RX8 123D RX-8 R3 0-30 2.3 2.5 0-60 6.5 6.5 0-80 11 10.5 0-100-0 22.5 21.6 1/4 mile 15.0 @ 94.0 14.9 @ 95.8 20-40 2nd 2.1 3.1 30-50 3rd 2.9 4.1 50-70 3rd 3.8 4 50-70 4th 4.3 5.6 70-90 4th 5.2 5.6 70-90 5th 5.9 7.4 Results surprised me anyway, I assumed the RX8 would have been a bit better. Anyway, results aside, the driving experience is nothing like a high revving petrol like my 313 zed was... when you`d floor it in 2nd, the engine would rev quickly round to 7500rpm and you`d get that sensation of a quick car. The 123d isnt as bad as some diesels as its got 2 turbos, and so there totally no lag at all. At any speed in any gear, you floor it and instant power / pull and you end up constantly hitting the redline in each gear and having to change up. The way the engine delivers power though is more suited for lazy commuting, so you can leave it in 5th or 6th and know if you want to over take you have more than enough power to do the job. Roundabouts you can leave it in 4th if you want as long as you are above 30mph. As for running costs.... my running cost spreadsheet tells me my zed cost me about £1400 a month. The 123d currently will cost around £800 using the same factors - although i`ll have a more accurate figure after 12 months of ownership. I think when your talking of performance cars, the line between diesel & petrol gets smaller as the diesels start to loose their economy advantage. Although for me it works well as im saving quite a lot each month on fuel costs, whilst can still have fun when I want. That's a good saving and defo worth having the 123D. What mileage is that based on?
  21. Agree, it's away back to them now anyway, got the wife's Mini Cooper back, so she's happy!
