  1. how about a japspeed k2?

i had one and thought it was great. Looks standard, quiet on idle/normal driving, but give it some beans and it makes a lovely noise thats not too in your face.

a lot of people slate them for their build quality. But i didnt have a problem with either of my k1s or my k2.

  2. I'm sure the zed shed could provide assistance?!

Either break for parts and make your money back.

Sell as it is and lose a fair amount.

Or make it a project car and put in a new engine or put a lsx/2jz/something wild in.

  3. Hello!

    Back in my 3rd zed!

    After selling my last zed just over a year ago I've had;

    1989 MK2 VW Jetta with a G60 conversion

    MK1 Focus ST170

    WRX bugeye Wagon

    WRX bugeye saloon

    WRX Hawkeye Saloon

    BMW E46 330ci

Now back in a Zed again!

Ive done the BGW and bright coloured wheels on my last 2 - and I'm past all that now.

So this one is going to be OEM+ But still doing sub 8m30s 'Ring laps and the odd trackday whilst being a daily driver.

    Plans are for the moment;

Front and rear DS2500 brake pads

Front and rear DBA T2 brake discs

    Braided lines

Currently on Eagle F1 tyres, will have Toyo R888 for track.

Velocity stack air box intake mod

    Plenum spacer

    Berk HFC

    Stillen Y Pipe

Currently has Powerflow exhaust, may change for miltek.

    Remap

Lowered - still doing research in this area for performance vs cost.

Rear half Custom cages roll cage with removable front bars for track days.

Spacers - not a performance mod, just because the wheels are buried in the arches!

That should see me doing sub 8m30s BTG nurburgring times.

  5. Hi,

I'm after some rays to fit on my Hawkeye WRX.

Not to bothered on colour as I'll be respraying them.

Not to bothered if they are curbed or come with tyres etc.

As long as they aren't buckled/damaged.

    Cheers.

  6. i can get the wheels redone for £150 (refurb and respray) but a different set of wheels will be £200+tyres minimum. So was just trying to explore the cheaper option first, as if they looked okay ild deal with them.

My inital plan was to put 350z rays on. but ill have to buy wheel adaptors, the alloys + tyres and maybe some arch work...

  7. Hi guys!

Right, so i got a new toy. But my god the wheels are awful i know. They are so awful i have no idea what they are. All i know is the centre cap says "ACE", but browsing the net i have failed to find any wheels that look similar on their website or in general.

I have a hatred for 5 spoke wheel. and shitty dish wheels. so these are not top of my list.

Anyways, its either get them resprayed and change them.

Ill explore the cheaper option first.

So would some kind soul like to photoshop my wheels for me?

Im thinking of a gunmetal grey colour all over.

And would they also be able to lower the car slightly. - Not a huge amount, as i still enjoy my back currently!

    Cheers!

  8. You can get R33 Saloons, in fact they are much cheaper than the coupes ;) http://www.pistonhea...me-cond/2281976

    F**k ugly though.

OP - as the father of twins, I see where you are coming from about 4 doors.

But in all honesty, 3 doors isn't too much of a deal breaker. We managed quite easily when we had a 3 door focus as a courtesy car.

I was thinking that, but what convinced me I needed 4 doors was when I saw someone getting a kid in the back of a Clio 172.....

  9. Yes I still intend to go ring every year, and break the 9m barrier.

I was looking at getting a track car and then a family daily car, but the cost will just be too much, so need a car that can do both.

And yes, I've already told her I'm still going every year!!

I rarely drink or spend money on expensive clothes/watches etc. so it's my yearly treat to myself. 10+ laps of the ring with a few mates for the weekend is all I need! (Well, maybe a trip to spa on the way!)

And then 2/3 other trackdays throughout the year if time/funds allow.

I looked at the 330d, but I've had two e46s (320ci and a 325i) and disliked them both after a few weeks/months. So I imagine I'll grow to hate it aswell.

I don't see the need for the estate/wagon wrx? Surely the saloon is suffice?

Would love a big v8 but the fuel would just empty my wallet I think!

  10. That's FWD ;)

Save a bit and buy an STi, rather than a WRX and then chuck money at it. The STi is a much better base to start with.

I though of that, but I still have a lot of development in myself to make first before I start getting into silly power/start playing with a wrx.

Was only 12seconds slower than 'daveyboy11' 350z round ring this year in my st170...
