The UK's cheapest SUV, the Dacia Duster, has been named as the 2012 Scottish Car of the Year, defeating 14 other opponents including the Porsche Boxster and Toyota GT86 to the prestigious award. The budget 4x4 also won SUV of the Year and Budget Car of the Year in the Scottish awards. The £9000 off-roader will be the cheapest 4x4 available in the UK when it goes on sale next January. Judges awarded the three motoring titles to the budget car thanks to it's "huge appeal". John Murdoch, President of the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers, said "the private buyer wants real value for money and the Duster certainly delivers on that score.
