  1. Had the P3 done at a dealer last week (£214.62 which was quite reasonable). I noticed on the service sheet that, amongst a few 'inspect' items that weren't ticked, that Spark Plugs and Cabin Air Filter had not been ticked as 'Replaced' when it clearly states they should be at a P3. Also manual transmission oil wasnt even ticked as 'inspected', just left blank. Before i phone them does anyone know if this is common place?? I would have thought the plugs would have been replaced on a major service and cabin filter done as its been on there 4yrs now. Cheers..

    Mot time

I got mine MOT at a Nationwide Autocentre in January as they do it for half price (welcome deal!) if you get the voucher off the net. Google Nationwide autocentres and autotrader to find it i think. Was a good sevice and very professional - no gain in getting it done at a nissan garage.. Prob did my brake test on a rolling road though but didnt advise them any different???
  3. Yeah they didnt have them when i dropped zed off just now, just some fat hairy arsed bloke in a boiler suit
  4. Hi there. Not certain about independents in S.Wilts but if you are prepared to travel a bit further east Martins Renault Winchester (same building as Nissan and use same parts/facilities I think) are doing my P3 this morning for £50 off the Nissan price of £265.. which was the cheapest dealer price i'd found in the south until then. So £215 for a P3 which is very good for a dealer..
  5. **Still - tell them you are from here, get an L3 and it will all be sorted hopefully. Tell them you want the GTR mech to work on it too ** Er, whats a GTR mech?? Or am i missing something blindingly obvious!! Mines in for a P3 at Martins Winchester this morning..
  6. Yeah mine had all its earlier services done at WLMG and i noticed on the sheets they were a bit expensive. Prob did a good job though..
  7. If the Public Bodies Bill is passed through the house of Lords (they are currently running into some opposition) it will clear the way for the sell of of the entire English public forest estste. I cant say any more.
  8. Currently 348,107 - http://www.38degrees.org.uk/page/s/save-our-forests This Wednesday there is a crunch vote in Parliament. MPs will vote on a motion demanding a rethink of plans to sell our national forests. The fact this vote is happening shows that MPs have noticed the campaign. But we're not done yet. On Wednesday morning, MPs will open the newspapers to see full-page adverts showing the number of people who’ve taken a stand by signing the Save Our Forests petition. The more of us that sign the petition the more pressure MPs will be under. So many of us have joined this campaign because we all understand something the government doesn’t seem to get yet: that our woodlands and forests are priceless, their ours and once they’re gone they’re gone forever. Please sign and send the link to as many people you know before wednesday. Many thanks all.
  9. Depends on cash and asthetics I guess. Is the coupe a 300 or 313bhp?? Is there much of a price difference?? My 2007 GT coupe (300) with Nismo exhaust is just about perfect. Interior is of much higher quality and has xenons and led rear lights. Roadster looks like an egg with the roof up imo, but i guess its just personal choice
  10. 271,583 sigs so far, +50k in 2 days - sorry '3 house inc expenses' tories, people care..
  11. Some success is coming from this today. It seems the governemt is considering backing down on the sale of the forest of dean and the new forest due to increasing public anger (maybe its all down to the Zed forum ). These may still be placed in the hands of charitable trusts but that will only lead to huge undermanagement and the loss of any timber industry we have. Still the bulk of our public woodlands to save. Keep signing..
  12. ..and i can assure you the information is not 'all out there'. Anyway over.. for now
  13. Just to clarify the situation as it stands at this exact point in time. At the beginning of December 2010 it was announced that the Forestry Commission had been told by DEFRA to sell 40,000ha (circa 15% of the forests it manages in England) to raise £100 million over the four year period 2011–12 to 2014–15. Under the public forest estate disposals program FY 2010-2011 this land is currently being prepared for sale, take it from me i know this for a fact, and if the change in law that is going through the house of lords this week is passed it will clear the way for a total public forest estate sell off. The new public consultation (not the one from 09 that Labour did with a open and honest tag that showed that the public wanted the forest estate to actually grow - or the July to Dec 2010 version) is penciled to be launched this thursday 27th January and is very much built to get the out come required by the coalition. The jist of the consultation will be very much 'how should the public forest estate be privitsed' not 'do you think the public forest estate should be privitised' and not giving the opportunity to actually record objections. Underhand is the way here. Thanks for everyones inputs so far..
  14. I think the Condems are privitising air next and fitting us all with a meter to tax it All that are interested please sign petition (currently 226,700 sigs) through the link above. Cheers..
  15. The ground as well as the woodland will be sold off. 25% in England now and then the ENTIRE estate if the law is passed this week. Once its gone its gone..
  16. So. Now the government have decided to sell off our national English forests. The ones that we, as members of the public, own and enjoy for fresh air, dog walking, cycling, running, you name it. Forests like the New Forest, Forest of Dean, Sherwood Forest and the rest of the public forest estate - all to be sold of by the coallition government as soon as they legally can to the highest bidder to do what ever they like with them. This almost unbelievable act is real and it is happening! It is currently illegal in England to sell of the forests as they belong to us the public and are a vital green space and historic monument. So... the government are trying to change the law this week very quietly to enable them to do this. They will then launch a public consultation this week that is worded and presented to only allow the outcome that they require. If you have any interest in the outdoors at all, or you believe that these areas should be kept open for our access and enjoyment, not sold off to industrial companies to chop down and build on, please register you support by writing to your local MP saying why you think this is wrong (we will all have forestry commission woodlands near us that we may use that will be sold off and closed up), by contacting your local newspapers and then signing the online petition here: http://www.38degrees.org.uk/page/s/save-our-forests - there are already nearly a quarter of a million signatures. We must do all we can to protect these national treasures. Dont believe that new owners will continue to allow public access - it will cost them a lot of money they wont want to spend to do this so will allow all paths and tracks to over grow and run in to dissrepair - they will then have succeeded for free in keeping us out. It costs just 30p per tax payer per year to keep our forests managed and open to the public. If you are interested spread the word to everyone you know who too enjoy these places. Thank you all..
  17. Ive done (99% of) the C to D (Cherbourg to Moliets) leg of your route 3 times rob. Last time was in 2004 in my MR2 T-Bar. My advice is to stay off the Autoroutes and stick to the N roads as far as Bordeaux. Then you have to do a long leg on the N10 down to the Spanish border which is a bit tiresome as its over a hundred miles virtually in a straight line with no hills or anything except for pine forest - im a forester and it even gets a bit boring for me after an hour! You get some good driving roads down through France and see the landscape change, not spectacular roads but that'll come in the Alps. Was a heat wave when i went down last, 43oC in a black MR2 T-Bar with black leather and no air-con. Did it in an 8.5hr sprint and pretty much passed out after we got there
  18. Yep I had this dillema when recently buying my first Zed. Def wanted the 300 engine but didnt really want to pay the extra tax... ...however, after test driving a 54 plate and not being overly impressed by the interior quality we went for a very good priced 2007 56 plate GT with the power upgrade and, as Neilp says, the LED tail lights, better front lights and better quality interior. The 435 quid tax does hurt a bit but thats remedied by a blast up the road anyway
  19. Not still in warranty and doesnt have to be a main dealer - but £215 for a P3 in the south is pretty good. Not many specialists down here so would prefer to have the stamp as long as price is reasonable. If i'd had gone for a T350 it would have cost a grand for the annual servie!!
  20. Okay.. Just rang Mike Brimson at Martins Renault Winchester (next door to Nissan) on reccomendation from Tim in the 'cost of P1 service' thread. Must say they have quoted a great price, £215 for a P3, which is 50 quid off what was already the best dealer price i'd got for a 3 in south central England. Will be booking it in through Dianna shortly. Cheers for that Tim..
  21. ..well thats ok as the nearest it'll prob ever get to a track is the karting car park at Thruxton this spring

    Service cost

Martins Nissan, Winchester, 01962 810100 - £265 for a P3. Prob a fair distance away from you though? Calling Martins Renault (next door) tomorrow on advice as apparently they can do a much better deal..
  23. Nope not EBC, just standard discs and pads on Brembo. She only gets used about once a week at this time of year though so prob just cack on the discs - although it was still there just as bad at the end of a 12 mile trip today.. Can this be a prob on EBC then as was thinking of upgrading at some point? Oh and Cragus, did you repaint your callipers red or are they just like that (upgrades)? That would look great on my Black GT once ive got rid of the orange side reflectors on the front bumper
