  1. Has anyone ever installed a battery on a 350Z? I know this sounds stupid but the manual gives 10 procedures for the "Accelerator pedal released position learning", a further 5 for the "throttle valve closed position learning, and a further 20 for the "idle air volume learning procedure"!! Just hope I never have to take the battery out. Jack
  2. Thanks to all you who have welcomed me. I have to say I enjoy reading the various posts and am sure I will learn a lot from them.
  3. Wasn't blipping as you call it used in the pre synchromesh days when you used to have to double declutch (pump the clutch once to go into neutral, then blip to increase the speed of the gears on the main shaft to those on the layshaft). If memory serves me right, it was used more on downshifting than on upshifting. Changing speed more slowly probably has the same effect as it allows the synchromesh rings to equalize the gear speeds especially if they are a little worn. Just some thoughts. Probably wrong.
  4. Near Pamplona, Spain fully loaded with 1 4 person tent, 1 table, 2 chairs and large suitcase. Looking forward to Greece in June, 11
  5. I must be dumb. I can't figure out how to post a photo. Do you need to join Photobucket to do it? If not, could I have chapter and verse please?
  6. Thanks for your welcome(s) everyone. I think I'm going to enjoy this forum quite a lot and hopefully will be able to attend some of the events. In reply to Stan, in particular, I would post a picture but can't figure out how to do it. It says my image size is too large. Jack
  7. I'll consider myself lucky. It appears that this is normal. Thanks
  8. I bought my new Zed in August and have been very happy with it but I do have one question regarding what the engine should rev to from a cold start. Mine seems to run to about 1800 rpm and I think I hear a little rattle - at least I feel I ought to. It very quickly dies down as the engine warms up though. Is this normal??
  9. I bought my 05 Zed in August and have been incredibly happy with it having driven nearly 3,400 to Portugal and back. So far, minimal expense but having read some of the technical pages, I could become very paranoid very quickly. I did a service on it and changed the auxillary belts before Portugal but other than that nothing.
