  1. And I thought this thread would be a CLEAN bit for me to put all my "mods" in ... Nope... all UK spec, I just like a square front plate... OK?
  2. Thought I would start a thread, especially for ME Putting down all the alterations and findings I have on and about my 350Z. Never know, someone might read it someday and learn something from it! So, when I first saw the car, it was on Autotrader. Looking like this.... 350Z, GT, Gun Metal Grey, 66k, CAI (Pop Charger), 19" alloy wheels. Note the Exhaust (Which was a K1) and the lovely allow wheels. When I went to see the car, I didn't notice the exhaust was back to standard. But driving it so far (and hearing out other K1's) I am happy he put it back to normal! Managed to get this baby for £8300 (08/2010) More info to come...
  3. http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/370z ... 2010-09-08 Enjoy! Think it was the 370Z's fault?
  4. Just realised this is a weekend AFTER I thought it was. So I am more likely to be able to attend, seeing as it is only an hour away for me. As I don't need food/accommodation, do I need to commit to anything? Or can I just turn up if I can?
  5. Drifting... what a good idea... never thought of that... honest
  6. Would be good to sell them Josh... but I don;t have the cash to buy new/seconds hand ones at the moment AND put good rubber on. I am sure that if I put £400's worth of tires on the back wheels they will be fine till next year when I will be able to afford something. Plus, I will then I will be able to keep these ones as well and use them for winter and/or track days
  7. Better than nothing I suppose. But still pretty that the car has pants alloys on it. You could argue they look good... (Not exactly my taste, the colour looks good, but they are a little "bling" for me) But they are too damn thin!
  8. Yeah... Great thing for me to "sort" ... by spending a load of money Don't have the cash for new alloys at the mo. But I presume the best/cheapest/safest thing to do in the sort term is to stick some vredestein ultrac sessanta that FIT on the back wheels. That was I can save up and buy some wheels and tyres that FIT soon. but still be safe(ish) ... yeah?
  9. There should be RULES on Muppets buying alloys that DON'T FIT cars. I mean yeah, these wheels do "fit" .... but not really! gggrrr....
  10. I think I may be best off starting all this again when I know the info But, on a separate yet related note, the fact that I have to have the spacers, and are STILL not sticking out from the arches, kind of suggests the wheels are not wide enough for the car......? its the offset that dictates how much they stick out combined with width, an offset of 40 with a width of 8" is shart Exactly... so if I have a spacer (to compensate for the offset) AND they STILL don't fill the arches... Then they are a VERY "thin" wheel, in comparison to the original ones... yeah?
  11. I think I may be best off starting all this again when I know the info But, on a separate yet related note, the fact that I have to have the spacers, and are STILL not sticking out from the arches, kind of suggests the wheels are not wide enough for the car......?
  12. Not sure Bud.... Other than asking the previous owner, how can I find out? (No info in the bumpf I got with the car)
  13. No offense taken bud. I didn't buy/put on the wheels, so I can't be held responsible for them. But I appreciate the analogy
  14. Yes, that makes sense.... BUT you have to think abotu the difference of weight of the alloys i.e. a 2-pound weight on teh end of a 1-foot stick will be as easy to lift as a 10-pound weight... but, I DO see your point.... and I also see my argument is floored as new alloys are not 80% lighter than the originals!
  15. I totally agree with regards to the offset... People get it wrong and either it looks awful... or it fails an MOT... Or both! Don't quiet agree on the bolt argument though, if you replace the bots as well, for the right length, then you can use spacers all day long. Or am I wrong there too?
  16. Cheers Josh! I think the rear is 255/35/19 (rather than 40) at the moment. I will have a look at the "standard" sizes on my door, then use the matcher as you suggested Im not fussed about spacers either, they were on when I bought it. Presumably because without them the offset would have make the wheels WELL under the arch! To me, they look like they could actually do with coming out MORE, so THICKER spacers. Haven't decided if I am changing the allows yet or not, but I don't have the cash to do anything with them yet anyway! Do the spacers to nothing at all then? I would have thought they would have given the car a (albeit only a small mount) wider foot print for better stability?
  17. I am getting REALLY confused now Gonna break it down for myself, see if I have everything right. 99% sure I have spacers on all ready. Do I need thicker ones? 95% sure I can leave my front tires as they are. 90% sure I should change my rear tires to Vredestein ULTRAC SESSANTA'S, to match the fronts. But what SIZE do I need for the back? NOT the same as the front.... ? I am new to this... someone break it down into proper dumb-ass terms for me?
  18. Yup.... that is the advice I want! What do I buy?
  19. Are these the kind of thing I want? http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?d ... htweiter=1 £170?
  20. HA HA ... Good point Front.... Rear....
  21. DO'H! (Sorry, ref to getting stuck in the mud!)
  22. Im getting that just driving about in my motor over here! Only seen three on the road since buying this one... (Usually, when you have a new car, the roads seem to be flooded with them!) And we always get stared at! Which is NOT for my exuberant driving style, as the last week or so I have been on a mission to get 30mpg on my display (only on 28.7 at the mo) Feel like a super star! Or it could be due to me looking 21 and driving a nice motor.... Which is 10(ish) years less that I am!
  23. hmmm... Let me think ... what would I prefer to go camping in? The Zed... or a Civic?
  24. I can take as many piccys as you need What should I take a photo of?
