  1. The suspension and track of the Nismo is completely different to the GT.  That said, it’s not mindblowingly different to the GT.

I test drove the auto before buying my manual GT, it was alright but will be down on fuel consumption a bit I’d imagine, not that anyone can afford petrol atm ha!  Can’t remember but is the tank @72 litres?, I know it’s bigger than most normal cars.  I never ran out of fuel on any of my 370’s.

They still look great cars, again not a traffic light bruiser, most hot hatches are quicker off the mark, it’s a GT but the road noise is terrible on a long journey, lack of insulation and deadening probs the main factor.

    I wish I’d kept my 2013 Nismo

Thanks for the info on the FRPP, I heard the ride was a bit worse with them. Do you have Magnaride? I was also looking at the Steeda Sport springs as the reviews say the ride is similar, but they are 1"in drop vs 0.76" for the FPR's

No mate, no magnaride, my Muzzer is from a long, long time ago and a galaxy far, far away :teeth:  I’m not a fan of Steeda, well Steeda UK, they’re overpriced and overrated, with a lot of fitment issues IMO, but may work with Magnaride

The Ford Kit, fits first time, made by Ford for a Ford

Contact Benny @ Levittown Ford for a great price ;)

Thanks all for the comments, she is coming together for sure.

I will keep that one in mind 😀, I am prob going to get the ford performance ones that come with the handling pack and some uprated sway bars. The springs will be a 20mm drop, so should look perfect 😎

I’ve had the FRPP Track Handling Pack on my old Muzzer since almost brand new, remarkable difference for a road set up.  The kit comes with uprated sway bars and produced a totally flat cornering ability.

The ride is slightly compromised though, especially on the ‘dirt track’ system of roads in the uk, a bit harsher.  My only bit of suspension failure so far, 6 years in was a control arm replacement two years ago.

Because it comes in FR Blue, I’m often asked by service techs if the car was a special US order , of course I say it was!

Sailed through its MOT, emission checks etc even with a 3” engine back with ‘sports’ cats, active exhaust and headers all good.

fantastic looking Mustang,  £65k in the uk!

  4. While aimlessly looking on auto trader, I put in 2013 Nissan 370Z Nismo white, two came up, and lo and behold my old Nismo was one of them!

I contacted the dealer this morning and there’s a deposit been put on it, hopefully the new owner didn’t pay the full asking price (£22k).  It’s only had two owners since me so I’m assuming that it’s been well looked after.

Ach well, the new owner might pop up here and I might have the chance to buy it off them in a few years :teeth:

Bon chance to the new owner

  6. PI’m no expert by any manner of means, I run MPS4S on my present Mustang, I’ve used MPSS on both my 370’s, GT and Nismo, as well as the Mustang.

i Don’t think you can get them any more but I ran Ultrac Sessanta (Vredstein) on the GT as well.  The Nismo came with Bridgestones IIRC but in any case I only ever used Bridgestones on my RX8, they were superb (REO55), many haters off them on here tho, but my experience on track, multiple alpine passes, Euro roadtrips was a good one.  Still an expensive tyre.

Bear in mind, no matter the tyre, if you don’t drive to the conditions, even Lewis Hamilton will end up backwards in a hedge, I think that’s the key with any choice

As to pro’s/cons to a wider set up, playing about with ratio or width won’t do much harm if it’s minor, example, going from a 275 to a 28 or 95 width, I’ve run spacers on 370’s and Mustang, purely for stance aesthetics and with my limited ability, I’ve experienced no negative side effects

  7. I ran MPSS for the last two years before replacing them with MPS4S @ October last year.  The MPSS replaced P Zeros, which on or in a warm climate were a fantastic tyre, get close to their minimum temp range and I mean within above 7 or 8 deg and they were a danger to life!

The MPSS performed superbly, again in dry/warmer temps and were only marginally better than the P Zeros but there was a significant improvement over the P Zeros in colder, damper weather.

The MPS4S are no doubt a great summer tyre (not ran them in the summer yet), but over the winter that’s just past they’ve only just very slightly been better over what I felt with the P Zeros, not a great improvement at all.

i know they’re all primarily summer tyres but when the question is “ wallet friendly” who can afford two sets of wheels with summer and winter tyres?   I think there’s probably better, cheaper all rounders out there that don’t suffer the catastrophic fall off of P Zeros and or the MPS4S.

unfortunately when you’re talking 19” with the type of width and profile that the 350/370 requires, none of them are that ‘wallet friendly’ for this category.

Just my most recent experience, I’m no tyre guru.....

  8. It’s the only way to go :teeth:

very nice car Doogy.  As I’m well aware, not the fastest toy out the box but a lovely place to be and I can only imagine what nice roads this’ll see in the spring - autumn in Canada.

precisely what I’ve said all along re the Mustang with regards to ‘driving should be an event and an experience’, nearly six years in with mine and and it still is, even on a cold damp winters night after a long late shift.  There were many detractors back in 2016.

Mach1 is a big improvement by all accounts (I’ve not driven one), and I had a wee look at a cancelled order the other day, £57k, I’d imagine yours would be that but in dollars you lucky man!

Jealous of the Tremac, but my old Chinese gearbox is still happily trundling along

    Have fun :)

  9. Perez did a great job all season, great partnership, where both understand the principle of a ‘principle’ driver.

Hope it’s Russell giving Max some real competition next year.

The King is dead, long live the King, and to survive, F1 need to crack the US, combative racing is what’s going to do it not whiney sullen fans and drivers.

My first instinct is to tell you to drive one first, before committing. They are amazing, but not everyone enjoys the weight distribution (I know, some folks are weird!) and it took me a year to get used to it properly.

Outside of that, do you want 2WD or 4WD? My initial thoughts would be a 991.1 GTS, as you get the NA engine which is beautiful, plus as a GTS it’ll hold it’s value. The flip side would be the interior isn’t as modern as the current ones, which would certainly be in budget. At the mileage you’re looking at you can certainly  expect some depreciation, but it depends on how much mileage you’re intending to put on it.

The 991.2 and 992 are both fabulous turbo cars, and are ridiculously quick. Spec will be dependant on previous owner obviously, but I’d consider the 18 way adjustable seats an absolute must have. The other comfort stuff is down to individual taste, but do get the sports exhaust. The PDCC makes the car feel very nimble along with the rear wheel steering, however you do lose the traditional 911 feeling. I couldn’t decide whether I’d buy with or without tbh, and still can’t. Probably without and enjoy that fabulous chassis a bit better, and do the driving myself.

I’ve loads more info if you need, see if you can find some examples of cars on PH or wherever and post them up and I’ll see if I can give you any more hints.

Probably 4WD Dan,  and I would like a modern interior.  Would I have to raise my budget?  That’s not out the question, would also like it to be current, I’ll have a look at the numbers you suggest.

On the depreciation, I’m thinking on my side, as in what’s the drop off from new to nearly new, todays market is very unpredictable.

needs to be special, needs to be modern, would like it sub £100k.

I’ll take that on board Dan, re driving one, would ideally, on a near £100k car want an extended test drive, off to Braehead on Monday
