Going to have the car up on the lift in a few days. Wanted to do some protection while im under there. Its reasonably clean for its age and mostly just surface rust. But i want to take some steps to keep it that way.
I am planning to clean away any surface rust and use Bilt Hamber SC-50 for cavities. And for exposed metal surfaces (such as W brace) i will use BH Dynax-UC or maybe BH Electrox, not sure which is more appropriate.
Just wondering if others who have done this have any tips for areas to look out for, or must do's while im under there? Or any advice on products etc

Thought i would give it a few days and see what happens.
Still playing up. Sometimes they spring into life after driving a while. The exact same symptoms people describe resolving with a air con controller replacement.

thanks guys. checked every fuse and rechecked the ac controller. No success yet. @marzman ribbons on both the old and new are fine.
Going to replace my passenger hub tomorrow. After i will have a look at earths and take out the cluster and have a look.

From a bit of searching, think its fuse 6 maybe
Listed as battery 10amp electrical parts.
As you said though, 2 units in the aircon that can cause this too. For the bad earth/electrical issue start with the obvious, test the battery and the connections are good.
Thanks for finding out i appreciate the help, ive checked all fuses. No problems there.
what other air con unit can be a problem?

As mentioned its intermittent, so i doubted its down to a fuse. But i checked em anyway. No luck
34 minutes ago, marzman said:Agreed - i had this once when i'd popped a footwell fuse - but given this is intermittent i'd say the fuse is unlikely, and more likely a dodgy earth on that circuit, which could be a bit of a nightmare to find.
Do you remember which fuse it was?
It could be that the second air con controller is also faulty. unlikely though.
If its an earth, im not sure where to start

Possibly a bad earth maybe ?
Any other symptoms or just a whacko cluster ?
just the crazy cluster

The dials on my main cluster are all reading at extremes. Sometimes after turning the ignition on and off multiple times they start to read correctly.
Believe it or not. Im not out of fuel while at 9000rpm doing 250mph with 200 C temps. Im actually sat on my driveway. (Also i haven't done 600,000 miles)
Tried replacing the air con control unit:
Didnt help.
Anyone experience anything similar? Any suggestions or advice appreciated.

Initially i wasn't sure about the 400Z, i felt it was trying too hard to be retro.
But after some time and mainly seeing it in some other than that revolting yellow in the press release:
I really like it!
Although you need to see a car like this in the flesh ofc

I have mixed feelings too, I like the grey colour of the second ones, but not sure about that pattern. Both look good when lit up.

Their really that bad eh? A Covid mod i will regret?

I might be interested in the bumper for the right price.

Got the same badge on my N1 bumper and skirts. My spats are replicas iirc.
Are you removing the kit to sell? @bigearmuffs

Fitted the braided clutch line and uprated slave cylinder (from Torqen). Clutch feels a little less spongy and more consistent feel/biting point going through the gears? Pedal feels a little heavier, but im not sure about that last one.
Also changed oil and filter, engine immediately sounds a quieter.
Also diagnosed a knocking noise, new passenger wheel bearing needed it seems.

I would be willing to make the trip down (from NE London)

@davey_83 Thats a good question. The short answer afaik is; The dual mass heavier flywheel is better at 'absorbing' the transmission rattle caused by engine torque at low rpms.
So far i must say im happy with it. The pick up and responsiveness feels great, Car feels more urgent and lighter somehow. No real downside apart from chatter at low revs in high gears.

Thought it would be worth a shot to ask if anyone has one for sale (350z Gun metal passenger side front wing)
Needs to be in good condition.
Thanks
