So have been looking into a bit more security since the last attempted break in happened. Came across this video and with the other thread about car hacking thought I would share it, basically there are 2 padlocks worth getting around £90 each so its that or I get some shutters

I did go and buy these the other day to make the buggers at least pause for a second and think twice

Thank god my padlocks saved me, but they done a good job on door and padlock latches, guessing its targeted and someone knows the car is in there or has seen me working on it as no other garages were touched but you never know could of been chancers.

Had to move the zed to a secret Batman layer and empty all my tools and parts today from the garage which has put everything on hold for now

Cant risk leaving car in there with door like that so thought it best i move it. (Started and drove well though )

Think I might give up my garage spot now and hopefully my mate will let me rent his double garage on his new property, bit further away but I can do what I want in it and with it and its on his land so it will be in his view at all times.

I watched every episode on Discovery channel my mrs thought I was a right geek he is annoyingly precise with everything and has a table saw to cut everything though but a legend

He goes proper overboard but learnt loads watching show but if anything may give you some ideas/techniques of how to do things

I've done this on my front bumper, just got some alluminum sheeting, drew template off bumper, traced onto sheet cut out with tin snips, neatened edges, rivoted to underside, job done and not even bothered when I hear a scrape now as it always scrapes on the metal,I've got the marks to prove it haha

Im in Surrey, so when the ignition is at acc there is power to the wing mirror and to the switches, so how come neither gave power to the gauge?

Ive been looking at the washer jet wires today so may try them,

Ive got a new dash to go on so may have to be patient like Bennett suggests strip dash out and poke everything with my multimeter

Getting fed up with anything to do with oil

So removed all door cards wired oil temp gauge up to wing mirrors turned key and nothing, removed door card again spliced into window controls this time turned key...nothing

At this point I thought the gauge had blown so decided to hook gauge straight to battery....gauge comes on

Where can I take power from easily in the engine bay near the brake resevoir area or anywhere to be honest that will power up my gauge?

I wired it directly to the battery and got out and realised its now permanently on, time to rewire again

Motordyne shockwave tdx2 gets my vote for sound and quality, I think Ian / mouthwash would agree! My set up is similar to yours and I'm making good power, around 412 bhp @ hubs = 447 bhp @ fly

If yours is similar to mine and got those numbers I would be happy with that yeah the motordyne one gets loads of praise but my pockets are too burned already for that

Its a K&N RX4?? that goes out to behind front bumper, stock internals, no dyno run yet everything's fitted just seeing if its worth swapping exhaust while im at it if it will make a difference before tuning.

Was looking at single exits but then renders my custom rear bumper almost pointless

Not chasing numbers really as still on stock internals so just seeing if I would lose out over what I have if I did swap.

when you say other mods are there any more other than the below I have to see an advantage?

Vortech V2 S/C 3.12 pulley with CAI, FRS, Plenum Spacer, 600cc Inj, GT maf and usual stuff that goes with all that

I have been toying with the idea of getting a true dual exhaust before I go for a dyno.

I currently have a Fujitsubo exhaust (Centre section and Back box) a HR y Pipe and APS decats.

Question is would it be better from a forced induction point of view to have a dual setup or stick with my normal setup?

Would I gain anymore from having one setup over the other?

No worries buddy any advice you give I always take it as it needs to be done as your spot on with all this stuff!

For now no leaks and oil cooler is solid but will take a picture of lines etc and send to you anyway.

Im only going with it like this for now as everything is solid and leak free for the sake of getting it tuned, once tuned im going to drop the oil and make all those changes then either straight away or next oil change so no major drama really

I might go for the wing mirror wires as there is a clear red and black in the loom and a bit more accessible than the window switches.

I cant be bothered with the light one either at the moment as long as the bloody thing works

One of the window switch wires has got to be an illuminated wire when the headlights go on so another job for another day
