I really wouldn't hold out too much hope on this. I have previously leased a number of cars and there are always mistruths in the adverts. The prices always seem to increase and the car often looks nothing like the advert (ie: picture shown of a higher spec model, bigger wheels, side skirts etc) My wife leases an Astra VXR as the moment and the picture on the site where she got it was so cartoonish, it almost looked like a concept car. I recently spotted one lease company offering a 'new' 350z!!

I've noticed quite a few of the adverts for later 370z stating '328' model. I have one of the original brochures for the car quoting the HP figure at 331 PS (in old money approx 326bhp) I looked at my log book and checked the KW figure and converted this back and this confirms the HP on my model as 331 PS Have they reduced the HP on the latest models coming off the production line to 328 PS? Autotrader were also stating a slight reduction of 2lbs/ft of torque for these models as well. Sorry if this question has been raised before!

Mine is without graphics, which I definately prefer (sorry guys that have them) I think they look ok on the old 911's, but I'm not sure about them on a 370z. Still love the colour though and it's a lot brighter than my old twiglet grey 350!!

That makes three of us! I wasn't sure about the colour before I got it, but I really like it in the flesh. The neighbours call it Bumblebee!

There are some good additional comments there that I fully agree with. I only noticed the tyre scrub the other day when I pulled out of a parking space at work! I'm also aware of the tramlinning and heavier feel of the steering in general. I'm a bit of a wheel and tyre sado and I usually check these out on other cars that are tested in EVO magazine and there are not that many performance cars on the market with front tyres much bigger than 235, so these do seem a bit of an overkill. Still overall I honestly can't see a better package for the money, especially if you still want some warranty.

The 370z was an ex demo in ultimate yellow, so it's the GT spec, plus it has sat nav and was registered In April 2010, so it was 6 months old at the time of purchase, with low mileage. He also gave me a free first service, which it's booked in for next week now it 9k on the clock. I had to negotiate hard with the dealer, but we agreed on 23k for the 370z and he gave me 16k for my 350z (registered in Dec 2008) I checked Parkers and they had the 370 at 27k and the 350z part ex at 15.3k I think I got a good deal! I wasn't sure about the colour at first as the 350 was grey, but I glad I got it now.

I'm always surprised how much more you find out about a car once you physically own it, regardless of how much time you spend in showrooms or looking at pictures or even on test drives. You need to drive, clean it and even walk back towards it from different angles in a car park etc to fully appreciate the finer or less finer details. After chopping in my 350z (313GT) for a 370z back in November, I feel that I'm able to form a proper opinion about the new car, although everyone has their own take on these sort of things. Looks: Like the 350, I think the worst view is front on, especially with the fangs. All the other angles are improved upon and it looks great from the back and sides. (my wife followed me to work last week and said is looks a bit TVR T350 ish from the back). Looking down the car from the front, the chunky rear arches look great with the wider 19'' alloys. Performance: Noticable but not huge gains over the 313bhp model, although the power band feels more even. It's certainly less dramatic than the 350z, which with a mashed right pedal from 4000 revs felt and sounded a bit like the Millenium Falcon trying to make the jump to hyper space (sorry, Star Wars reference). The handling initially feels improved and if it stops snowing or raining for long enough, I may actually find out! Interior: Certainly its visually a big improvement over the 350z, although I never had a problem with the interior on the 350z, at least not in the last generation 313bhp version and there are actually a couple of controls in the 370z that in my opinion are worse than in the 350z. The seats also seem less comfortable than in the 350z, although I've read that they are the same design. Dislikes: Not many in truth. I had the tonneau cover in my old 350z and I think this helped a bit with noise from the rear wheels, which appears louder in the 370z. The engine/exhaust is also a bit dull sounding and at times doesn't even sound like a V6. A tuned exhaust that changes the sound charactistics at around 4000 revs would help. No space saver......I'm not convinced that the tyre glue and compressor is going to get me of of the s**t on a cold January night in the middle of Northamptonshire! The visibility also seems a bit worse in the 370z, espcially when you are trying to back out of a space and need to see towards the side/rear of the car. Probably best to use 'the force' instead! (sorry, another Star Wars reference) Overall: Very good really. It gets a lot of attention (especially in yellow!), which is partly down to the fact that there are not too many around yet. People in the know were aware of how good the 350z was, but the 370z seems to attact people's attention purely on the way it looks, which can't be bad! I'm not sure how well it will do in the current climate, with petrol prices so high and the economy still struggling, but I think that in terms of a sports car, the 370z has moved up another from the 350z. It's not a Cayman S beater (at least not on the track) but it's probalby around 15k less that a similarly specced Porche. 8/10 for Nissan. Make it sound a bit more exciting and I may stretch to a 9

I wouldn't be too concerned about the camp sites. My wife is a bit of a petrol head as well and we have been to Le Mans three times (2006, 2008, 2010) and stayed in Houx campsite each time. Being the wrong end of 40, although we like a few beers, we're not exactly interested in all night drinking and parties etc, but we have never had a problem. You always get a few muppets down there, but most of the Brits that we have met over the years have been really friendly and a good laugh. If you do want something a bit more up market, I noticed last year that EVO magazine were offering camping at a nearby Chateau, including a Saturday night BBQ, Breakfast, hot showers and transport to and from the circuit on the race day. They were also advertising a 'free' camping package in last months magazine as well, although the price seemed similar to what we paid last year including the campsite! Let me know if you need any other advice, although I'm sure there are lots of other people on the site who have been more times than me. Simon

I part exchanged my 58 plate 350z a few months back with Evans Halshaw in Middlesborough and I've been looking at their site on and off and it looks like it's only just sold. They had it advertised for just over 16k and it had 14000 miles on the clock and I was wondering if anyone on the forum had bought it?

I've just worked out that I've had 18 cars in 28 years of driving!! eighteen months per car on average!

I think you have to be realistic about the choice..... I honestly think that the best looking of the three is the 370. The best all round car would be the Cayman and the fastest would be the Audi. 30k gets you a new (in some cases) or almost new 370z from a main dealer with 3 years warranty. In terms of the Porsche, it would get you an out of warranty Cayman S with say 20k on the clock with about 80% of the kit that would come as standard on the Zed. I know that 0-60 times don't tell the whole story, but the 370 is quoted at 5.1 secs and the (295bhp) Cayman at 5.2 secs, so unless you took them on a track, there wouldn't be much in it. The Audi would obviously be and feel quicker, but in my opinion lacks character. I went through the same thought process myself not long ago and once I accepted that the 370z was a better looking car (let's face it, the Cayman is a bit of a munter from some angles) then it was actually a no brainer! Now a 911 would require a different thought process, although in some cases would be the same 'problem' as the Cayman, just older, with more mileage and would cost more. Go for the 370z......at least you would still be able to get great advice from this site and most importantly, people would let you pull out of side streets!!

I know there has been a lot of talk recently about GT5, but I was hoping to get a couple of answers regarding Forza 3. I'm not exactly a prolific gamer and I've had this for just over a year. Apart from spending a lot of time hot lapping the more interesting tracks like the Ring and Le Mans etc, in the 'career' mode I've just finish season 7. I assumed that once I got into the LMP1 cars I would only have a single season until the game was finished! Any ideas on how many seasons there would be to complete the game and do the world championship races get much longer (my last race of season 7 was 15 laps at Laguna Seca) Thanks

I know that there were a few postings last week about the episode where they pitched the 370 against the TTRS and Boxter, but really what was the point. There is no doubt that TTRS is a top car and I'm sure given the choice we would all swap our Z's for one, but I fail to see why they put this up against the 370 roadster (auto) and the Boxter. EVO magazine even set a quicker time around the Bedford Autodome in a TTRS that their Audi R8(V8) I would have liked to seen the 370 coupe (manual) against a base Cayman and a TTS. I would also liked to have seen Jason or Tiff in the Z to give it half a chance! I think the most important thing though that wasn't considered in any great detail was the respective pricing. I ran the 4 relevant cars through the manufacturers configurators (it's been a slow week!!) to match the specifications with the 370z coupe GT and these are the figures (all with solid paint): TTS: £36140 TTRS: £47535 Cayman: £43255 370z: £31645 If you run the Cayman S to the full 370 spec, it ends up over 50k! My two conclusions are that (we all know this) the 370z is excellent value for money and that Fifth Gear only ever had one intention......to make the TTRS look good! I like Fifth Gear, but lets leave the silly stuff to the other three on BBC.

Is anybody planning to make the trip down the Le Mans this year? It will be my third time and it's well worth the effort. It's a great road trip to start with and if you can put up with the crappy toilets and showers, the racing isn't bad either! I did the trip in a 182 Clio the first time and an RX8 last time. I'm looking forward to giving the Zed a blast down this time.

I do have a rear bumper that I was looking to sell. It had some slight cosmetic car park damage that I had repaired and although they made a good job, I decided to replace it with a new one. the car was only 12 months old at the time, so it's off a 313ps 58 plate - twiglet grey. I would like £50.00 for it if you wanted to collect and it's in Milton Keynes.
