  1. Driving my zed today and noticed I seemed to lack power when accelerating. Was getting a tad concerned so I Booted it in second and only reached 60 MPH at 6000 revs which does'nt seem quite right. Don't think it's the clutch as it'll pull at low speeds in sixth without the rev meter spinning around. Not overly familiar with the car yet as I've only had it two months and for the majority of that couldn't drive it due to an op on my right arm but it just doesn't seem right. Any ideas?

  2. When I was 21 my car was a 100A Datsun Cherry! A 260z was out of the question. Life has certainly got better for everyone me thinks :band:

I had a Datsun Sunny mate, 1.2 ltr if remember correctly but I may be wrong as it was 25 years ago  Always had Datsun/Nissan as my mother worked in the local dealership and have stayed with them ever since as the vehicles are so reliable and the sports models, in my opinion, give the best car for money value in the market

  3. Purchased my zed nearly two months ago with what I thought was a full service history. All the service boxes where stamped somewhere near the recommended milage intervals by a Nissan dealer. The last service was on 36000 miles so I thought I'd ring the dealership to check that it was a P3 that was carried out. To my annoyance I was told that it was just a basic service carried out on the instruction of the previous owner. The car has now just passed 40k so obviously I need to get this service done pronto. Will this need to be done by Nissan or will a pal who's a competent time served mechanic be able to do it? Don't really want to be shelling out lots of cash if it's not absolutely neccessary

  4. Feel for you mate, totally ruptured my right bicep ligament a few weeks ago requiring a big op and several weeks without driving (wrist to shoulder plaster cast), thankfully back behind the wheel now, just!! but still two months away from any sort of resistance training with the damaged arm. Still training on my left side which is thankfully keeping my upper body in surprisingly relatively good shape but going to get massive muscle wastage on my right arm. You'll soon be fit mate, time will fly trust me

  5. After several weeks absence due to extensive surgery to my right arm the big man is back behind the wheel and loving ever minute of it :yahoo: downside is i've spent a fortune in fuel over the last two days but the exhilaration of driving again has been worth every penny. Love the car and even a trip to the shops ends up being a several mile detour as I cant resist the urge to give her a blast, not even the skipping bose can spoil the ride at the moment

  6. Generally I find most people have the ability to degenerate into an instant prat once they get behind the wheel no matter what vehicle they're driving. I think its to do with fact that they believe they're untouchable sitting in their own little safety capsule, hence all the abusive gestures etc. Find it amusing that people feel the confidence to abuse me from the safety of their car when they wouldn't have the bottle to front me on the pavement.

  7. I have one :) been driving it for the last two years with no problems whatsoever infact its the most reliable car I have owned its a 92 jdm twin turbo auto with 64,000 miles. Buy a good one look after it and you wont go wrong

    Lovely looking motor mate

  8. my mates had 3 and they have all been nothing but trouble, kinda funny watching him sometimes as he thinks its so super quick... its not, think it all depends on how much you want to spend and try and get one that has completly overhauled engine, and best bet it to find an owners club, my mate has had to change both his turbos twice now from poor oil flow and its an engine out job each time... not fun...

That was the main reason why I never got one. Looked into it and found them very expensive to maintain and would cost £££££ if anything significant went wrong. Lovely looking car but I wasn't brave enough to take the gamble I'm afraid

  9. Fancied one for years but never got round to getting one. Still some nice examples out there and was contemplating one as an option when i bought my zed along with possibly a supra, 3000GT or at a push an NSX. Went for the zed though as it was a much newer car and a safer option in my opinion.

  10. ok everyone ive basically gone from a toyota celica 1.8vvtli to the 350z and i was advised to leave the traction control on as i have habit of heavy revving ....i nearly always go round corner and get the slip light flash and my car slow down automatically while the lights on then turns off once i got grip.....i take it this is normal and whats difference with trc off will it stop the slip function from happening?

should i drive with it off as i know some of you have tried both and know whats best?

Would be reluctant to switch mine off judging by the amount of times I had my 200SX going sideways. Could be good fun though until something untoward occured and then you'd sincerely wish you'd left it switched on. In a nutshell I'm not brave or affluent enough to chance it

  11. Sorry to hear about that. Hope you get it sorted. At least you remembered to take pictures..that's the bit i always forget to do.

Me too mate, my first reaction is to bang the perpetrator on the jaw which obviously isn't the best solution!! nothing worse than someone busting up your pride and joy

  12. In Shropshire

Black 04 plate GT4 parked up in Shrewsbury

Silver 58 plate coupe at Hortonwood, Telford

Orange 05 or 55 plate coupe at Hortonwood, Telford

I'm from Shrewsbury, any other members from Shropshire?

  13. Very lucky mate. Sometimes you just get a feel for these things, your instincts scream out that somethings just not quite right. Was giving my old 200SX a bit of a blast a few years back and a car was constantly in my rear view just far enough behind to remain what they thought was inconspicuous. I was well spooked and dropped to within the speed limit hoping that if the vehicle was an unmarked car it was too far away to have obtained any video evidence. On this the other car slowed up pulled in and hovered behind for a mile or so obviously hoping I'd blast off again. My suspicion was confirmed when eventually the other vehicle lost interest and passed me with the police officer in the passenger seat glancing across giving me that 'you were lucky' look.

  14. I have a factory fitted bose sound system which is prone to intermittent passenger side speaker failure which can be remedied by a sharp whack to the passengers knee pad located on the centre console. Has anyone else experienced this, it's obviously caused by a loose connection but is it easily accessible or something hidden within the unit that will require professional assistance? Naturally I'm keen to find a permanent solution so any info would be greatly appreciated. Want to eliminate any niggles ready for when I'm fit to drive her again

  15. My line of work is a warehouse manager for the NHS so subsequently receive many deliveries on a daily basis. In my experience all carriers are pretty much alike, negligent to say the least! It doesn't matter which company you use they all adopt the same procedures which involve the parcel being thrown on and off vans and chucked around distribution centres. I only return items that are damaged to the degree that they're unusable, if I sent back all the goods that turn up with cosmetic damage I'd have no stock in the warehouse. My personal record was an item of specialist equipment that was delivered damaged and unusable four times before I finally received an intact version. Don't know what the answer is but every supplier I deal with has the same problem with carriers destroying their products

  16. Given how much the police are cracking down (rightfully so in my opinion) at the moment on dodgy plates, I can't see any reason for running anything other than normal legal plates. It's really not worth the hassle.

these were legal, they just were poor quality!!

  17. Decided to get a set of snazzy number plates for my zed (despite the fact that I can't drive it for at least six weeks!!) Ordered a set off the net from No 1 Showplates and was very disappointed, not at all sharp and generally poor quality, infact so bad that I'll stick with my original plates supplied from the dealer when I bought the car. Any suggestions please?

  18. Gutted for you mate, it's bad enough having an enforced break from driving mine but at least I'll be back behind the wheel in a few weeks, can't imagine never getting in it again, must have been heartbreaking!! Good luck with your next car mate

  19. Just purchased a 2004 zed and found that the bose CD system jumps when the car is cold. After about 10 minutes and the cars up to temperature its fine with no further problems for the entirety of the journey. Any suggestions as it's driving me daft
