    Nissan Cherry

Automatic Three door 1985 Nissan cherry for sale. Only two owners (both family members) with just over 50000 miles on the clock Runs well but a bit battered and bruised as you'd expect for it's age Chassis looks okay, bodywork has had a bit of welding on sills and arches. MOT expired in feb Maybe of interest for a cherry turbo project Looking for £500 ono
  3. Shrewsbury mate, the flexi part of the pipe on the off side is broke and blowing. Getting a mate to sort it out, he says the middle silencer, back box and pipes thankfully look in good nick, flanges look a bit corroded but he reckons he can repair them, so just need the Y piece
  4. Anyone got a y piece for a 2004 GT knocking about please?
  5. problem solved, secured it under the main assembly screw, it does the job but its definitely not the way it was located previously as the cord had a retaining plug on it
  6. Thanks for the prompt replies guys. Thankfully the cord is fully intact but strangely there's no locating hole as in the photo just one hole to locate the screw for the main assembly, plus there's no sign that anything's been sheared off, confused now
  7. Recently had a rust job done on the offside rear wing which involved respraying the full panel, just been to fuel the car and found they haven't reconnected the plastic cord that attaches the fuel cap. Looks an easy job to clip it in but can't see anywhere obvious where it locates. Advice would be appreciated, have already tried the search feature but to no avail
  8. Haven't got a clue how I managed to underline that post, must be something to do with my IT ignorance
  9. We are all guilty of breaking the speed limit at some point of the journey everytime we set out in a car, I'd be very surprised if someone can honestly say that they never stray marginally over the speed limit, we all do it. I regularly see marked police vehicles and even safety partnership vans travelling at slighty, and in some cases significantly, over the designated speed limit. Not in any way trying to condone speeding but there is a big difference between marginally exceeding the speed limit, for example doing 45 mph in a 40, than driving at over 60 mph on the same stretch of road. But unfortunately, whatever the circumstance, if you do get a ticket for exceeding the speed limit you have to take it on the chin
  10. My gut instinct when I met the dad was that he was a decent genuine bloke, if I had any doubts about him, even in the slightest, I'd have taken the insurance route. Again fair play to the bloke he did exactly what he promised with no corners cut or expense spared. Will give him a call in the morning to say thanks
  11. Got the car back today, been away in Ireland earlier in the month and didn't want the job done until I got back just in case there was any contention to sort out. Very happy with the outcome, genuine door from Nissan and sprayed/fitted by a reputable dealership body shop. Fair play to the lads dad, he stuck to his word and sorted things out properly with no half measures. Lovely to have the car looking pretty again, pained me to see her looking busted up and sorry for herself
  12. Got an old polo GT as a runaround so don't need a hire car. Just pleased it's being actioned quickly and via a reputable source, plus if I'm not happy even with the finest detail of the job it'll be staying where it is until I'm satisfied
  13. The dad came to look at the car yesterday evening and is ordering a door from Nissan which will be put on by the local Vauxhall dealership. Might sound strange but the fella used to work for Vauxhall and knows they'll do a top job which I can verify as the bodyshop manager once sorted a spray job on my old 200SX and it was spot on. I know he priced a door up yesterday as I spoke to the Nissan parts manager who happens to be a friend of mine plus, without sounding cynical, I'll check later to day to make sure it's been ordered. Also the job is going through the books at Vauxhall (not a cash favour) so I'll get a full guarantee and it won't be accepted if I'm not fully satisfied with the repair. So all in all happy with the arrangement so far
  14. Thanks for the advice chaps, I'll see what his dad can offer and if I go down that route I've got a little bit of rust appearing on the offside rear arch so will negotiate that to be chucked in as a goodwill gesture for the inconvenience caused. Really pi**ed off with it already and can do without the grief, plus it pains me every time I look at my car
  15. Sitting in a supermarket car park waiting for my woman to pick up a few bits and pieces when a fiat punto rolls out of its space colliding straight into my drivers door. Door severely creased and dented and will definitely need a new skin and more than likely a frame. Taking it to a mate who's in the trade this morning so he can assess if anything else is damaged such as hinges etc. The idiot responsible was a nineteen year old lad who'd parked and not applied the handbrake. He was very remorseful and compliant with details etc but wants the repair done via his dad who runs a car restoration business and not through insurance for obvious reasons. Not really sure what to do, don't really want to see the lad clobbered by his insurance company which are without doubt already stinging him royally, but on the other hand could be leaving myself vulnerable to allsorts by going through his dad. His dad's coming round tomorrow evening to have a chat so I'll see what he can offer. Head says insurance, what do you think?
  16. Driving behind a safety camera partnership vehicle doing 36 in a 30 earlier, probably further over the limit than a lot of the motorists incriminated by his evidence today. Tut tut, not the best advertisment for speed awareness, clearly not a case of practice what you preach
  17. Fortynine years old now and trained since my early twenties, have been at my genetic max for a number of years and don't see many gains these days. My diet has always been pretty good but I've never been tempted to go down the juice route, no disrespect to anyone who does as it's a personal choice, it just wasn't for me. Supplement wise I've done the usual protein and creatine thing but as a previous poster said it can get a very expensive business if you let it. Still enjoy the gym now as much as when I started many years ago, always a pleasure and never a chore. Hope you all get as much enjoyment out of your training as I do and get the results you want
  18. The way he's been playing lately he's more championship than champions league, absolute passenger against City, looks disinterested at the moment and needs to sort out his attitude sharpish
  19. I hit a cat on my way to work some time ago, he ran through traffic on the opposite side of the road and I had no chance of avoiding him. He was clearly badly injured so I wrapped him up in my coat and took him to the vets but unfortunately he died as i got there. It really upset me and I spent the next couple of hours knocking on doors trying to trace his owner but to no avail. I even rang the vets several times in the coming weeks to see if they had been contacted by the owner but again to no avail. Round about this time one of my friends was knocked off his bike while negotiating a roundabout by a car driver who didn't see him. He sustained a fractured scull and badly broken left arm which required plates, pins and wires to repair resulting in a weeks stay in hospital. If he wasn't such a strong man it could have been a lot worse, I'm sure if it'd been a child or a woman it would have probably killed them. The woman who caused the accident didn't even check to see if he was ok, not even a phone call to the hospital never mind a visit. I made more of an effort about the cat, how appalling is that!!
  20. So frustrating and annoying but I don't really know what the answer is, unfortunately most people have little or no respect for other peoples vehicles. My everyday run about is a twenty plus year old battered polo but I have respect and always take care opening the doors when in the proximity of another vehicle. I'm very particular where I park the zed and try to keep her safe but still end up with the usual scuffs and dinks. I've come to the conclusion that a lot of people just don't care
  21. Are you aware of just how little profit a garage makes from the petrol? It will generally cost more to fix a single pump than they'll lose in revenue over a month. The cost of repairing the pump will have to be met whether it takes a day or five weeks, surely it would be in the best interest of the garage to action it as quickly as possible to minimise lost revenue.
  22. It doesn't equate it was just a point. It should nave been fixed promptly surely that is obvious. As you say the private sector exists by making a profit, the petrol pump is there to do so and having it unusable loses money.
  23. If other outlets weren't so extortionate I wouldn't!
  24. I am sick to death with my local Tescos inability to provide a reliable supply of super unleaded petrol. Today I arrived at their filling station to again be met by all the momentum 99 pumps closed off. How difficult is it to organise a constant supply of fuel!!? I run a warehouse for the NHS with hundreds of product lines, many of which are dependant to facilitate hospital discharge, subsequently I can't afford to reach an out of stock situation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but to the uneducated eye, all the product lines Tesco filling stations have to concern themselves with is two lines of petrol and two lines of diesel. That's a grand total of four product lines, surely it's not too much to ask to keep on top of such a limited range. Not that long ago, June/ July if I remember correctly, they were without super unleaded fuel for over five weeks as there was a problem with the pumps. I have to organise a contactor to repair essential medical equipment on the same day it breaks down, which I do without fail. And they say the public sector couldn't cut it in the private world, I beg to differ.
