  1. ok bare with me on this one... I just px'd my zed after 2 yrs of ownership for a Saab 9-3 Areo 2.8 v6 Turbo rag top (just one car Ive always liked to try) and tbh quite honest im gutted. I really miss the torque of the zed coz thats what gives you (me) the ultimate buzz. The Saab has enough ummffh to keep up with my old zed, but its the power delivery i miss...ive now had this saab for appox 2 weeks and already looking to get rid of it. Im now looking to get myself Merc slk350 or 55 AMG to try something differant........maybe I just get bored of cars easily lol." ( approx 24 cars in 24 yrs of driving) So I guess the moral of the story is.........you never really get bored of the zeds power ...
  2. Tried that m8, but they all came back with a really silly price, and nowhere close to the breakers price... Also got to the bottom of the problem, looks like some little scrote had tried to persuade the window down with a screw driver as there is a gouge in the plastic trim above the door so im gona have to get that repaired as well
  3. Happy days got myself a window from breakers £65 deliverd.....beats the stealers quote somewhat
  4. I aslo think it was wierd for this to happen. I had my drivers door not drop in the past and it still opened (with a bit of rubbing on the top plastic) with no problem Im not sure maybe someone had tryed to get in and mybe knocked the window??? Also im glad I have the fron slightly tinted as this held most of the glass in place.
  5. cheers m8 that would be great . . . lol and she did offer to pay for it, but suppose I cant insist on it...but sure there are other ways to repay I think my ins is windscreen only
  6. Morning all.... Well I had a bit of a issue this morning, my partner decided she wanted a lift to work today and me being a nice chappy I said no problem. So as she then went to open the passenger door, the window just exoloded into tiny bits of glass Now all I can think is that the window did not drop that few mm to allow it to open. So my next problem is to find a window, as been quoted £390 +vat so far .So just wondering if any of you nice guys know a good place to get replacement glass. Im going to try a few breakers before I turn to my insurance coampany and pay the excess
  7. Hi all, Just wanted to post this to make others aware. I ordered a set of 20mm Eibach spacers from CS last week. When they turned up I couldn't wait to get these fitted to my zed . So I went about fitting these on Saturday. I first fitted o/s front looking , so then and went and fitted the o/s rear looking even better . So now to my problem..... I had fitted and torqued up the front n/s, and started to put on the wheels nuts, and my m8 who had his foot on the break for me, started to take the pi$$ as i was taking ages to fit it. I said to him I just cant get the last nut on. So I take off the wheel and inspected the spacer and I couldn't believe it, there was one lonely stud sat there totally the wrong thread size, I cant tell you how gutted I was. Any way I decided to fit the last rear one, and take off the front o/s one, so I could send back to CS. Zed looking a tad odd now though lol. There has been a few pm's between myself and CS about this damm spacer, and they have been really helpful in sorting the issue out, and to there credit have sent a replacement within a few days. It was also said to me that this is the first that they have heard off in 5yrs (just my luck eh) So just a heads up and don't make my mistake check the studs before you fit. On a side note would just like to say a big thanks to CS for resolving this problem, and great communication guys
  8. This fix is really easy, did mine last month and been woking a treat ever since. Its a bit when warming up the mobo but worth the effort. Hope you get it going
  9. omg, guy didnt stand a chance, surprised how low the wall is in that area, and unprotected RSJ's...wtf
  10. I have had 3 big off's in my time on bikes and I thought after the first one that would have put me off, but did it???..... no, so I guess im just TBH its like the old age argument of marmite, either you like bikes or you hate them, but then again I like marmite and I like bikes (in the words of harry hill ......FIGHT!!!).
  11. Just noticed this, but I believe your NCD wont make any difference to a quote for a motorbike.
  12. Being a biker for the last 20 yrs as you can guess my insurance is fairly cheap now. Another good company to look at would be MCD http://www.motorcycledirect.co.uk/ I sold my gixxer 1000 last year to by myself a more comfortable ride, so went and bought a 08 Kawasaki Z1000 so 2 zed's in the family now ...Also having had a ZX9 big bro to the ZX6, I would say that they are a great allround kinda bike, A freind of mine did her test last year and this was direct access and all in all cost her 1 – Theory £35 2 – CBT £125 3 – 3 day direct access £550 4 – Test fees for Mod 1 and 2 £90
  13. Just a question.... do you really need rear speakers? I had a set up in my old celica where I just had focal speakers, mid range and tweeters in the door and just a rear sub, powered by a 4 channel amp. And the sound was really good. I will be going along the same route when I get time to have ago at my system in my zed. Before I went about installing the system I spoke to a guy in a car audio shop, and he suggested this set up as its what they do in high end installs. have look at this, and some of the comments support what this guy had told me, especially the post from arcam boy. http://www.avforums.com/forums/car-ente ... akers.html Just my 2p worth
  14. Bit long winded, but cant believe this guy went to so much trouble http://iphonetheif.blogspot.com/2010/01 ... -bust.html
  15. saw that earlier also, thought omfg they guy just froze while waiting for the impact
  16. not sure how these take pis because never been caught by one , but dont they just take a photo of the reg?? and maybe it was just a quick easy way of topping up there profits
  17. now how the hell could this happen while there are white line markers painted in the road????? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstop ... ckets.html oh and not me btw
  18. after attacking the ps3 with a heat gun got it finally working....one happy chappy, and chuffed I didn't manage to melt any components
  19. do you use a usb hub,as its a pain with only 2 usb's, dongle needed for keyboard, dongle needed for bluray remote, usb needed to charge controller
  20. Took my hd out but still wouldnt boot,so need to try this fix, but now you have mentioned the hd you have think ill look into changing mine, more storage is always a plus Where did you find your 120gb? ps. hope you realise now you said yours never missed a beat........its going to happen Well, it needs the HDD to boot and set itself up again. Once you add the new HDD, it will install the PS3 OS onto it. Be aware tho that you don't get a HDD too large in capacity, because depenting on the number of platters use, the thickness will vary. Too big and it won't fit the caddy properly. I took my current 120GB drive from a portable HDD for my PC, but you should be able to use any 2.5" laptop drive, just make sure it's a SATA interface You could start looking here and see if you might fancy one http://www.scan.co.uk/Shop/Computer-Har ... ATA-SATAII well defo something to think about

  22. I think its a overheat problem and Sony use a crappy heat sink compound, but saying that mine is the 1st gen (40gb). Its been ok for nearly 3yrs now so hasnt done to bad in comparison to what I have read about. I think the new slim ones are supposed to be a lot better cooling, But maybe still a bit to early to tell. Its just down to poor heat sink and dry joints on the motherboard.
