  1. Cheers glrnet, i imagined it should improve the sound on its own, but wondered if anyone knew this model in particular. This i.c.e. stuff confuses the s**t out of me! the more i read the less i understand
  2. Well Dave, i did think the '51' bit would be Si as a lot of people call me that, but most people just think ites a '51 reg. Bit of a fail, that . It's good having her name on the reg though 'cos then she's under the illusion that it's her car , so when i spend x amount on new goodies for the Z, it's a 'present' for her Good thinking mate!!! I hope she doesn't read this thread though The wrapping work really is 1st class. I did the bumper tuck a while back also. Like it a lot. Small tip someone gave me, Clean it with baby oil, shines up like a shiny thing with ease. My Mum caught me 'cleaning' it with baby oil when i was 14 ...........oohhhhhh, you mean my exhaust!
  3. Hi guys, anybody had experience with one of these? is it suitable for connecting to the exsisting 'Bose' speakers and sub? would i be able to hook it up to the steering wheel controls? Is music sound quality good, and would i need to boost it because of low volume? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PIONEER-AVIC-F910 ... 4cf182d824 Cheers buddies, Simon.

  5. Thanks for the kind comments guys Mr rtbiscuit....yep, thats my next mission i think, should eliminate the stupid 'ghost' image in the rear screen. I did originally intend to have a go at wrapping the centre console, but i think it would be wrinkle city (no....not Bognor Regis )!
  6. I know its not much to most of you guys, but i've dipped my toe into modifying for the first time! My Dad fitted the Scorpion (he owns an MOT station and garage... ), it needed a handful of washers/spacers to make it sit right as the first fitting resulted in it rubbing the paint of inside the cutout where the exit sits. The bumper tuck compiments it well and was easy to do. The carbon wrap i did myself. I practiced by doing the exhaust heatshields on my R1 motorbike, it took a long time to work the wrap round the curves without any wrinkles, but wasn't too difficult technically. I then moved on to the car, didn't want to do to much, just keep it subtle, so i decided on the b pillars and the mirror mounts. the pillars were a piece of cake, 5 mins, but the mirror mounts took a little more time because of the odd shape. Anyway, i'm pretty pleased with results. And finally...i just cleaned and waxed it, so.......
  7. Cheers Paul thats exactly it! I've just put that website in my favourites too...in case i find a suitcase full of money!
  8. O...M...G!!! that cheered me right up!
  9. I remember these being talked about a while back but i've searched around and cant find them now, anybody know where to get them? Its the Z badge that sits just above the side repeater lights and the light shines out from around the rim. Cheers.
  10. Has anybody used one of these? if so are they any good for the nav and for sound quality? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JVC-KW-NX7000-CAR ... GPSSystems Also, i an a numpty with i.c.e. can i just buy a steering controls adapter, plug it all in and thats it, or is there more to it? will it work with the Bose speakers and sub? sorry if its been asked before but i cant find much with the search button that is specific enough. Cheers.
  11. Welcome mate, love your part of the country. On a side note it still amazes me how many young lads, i.e. late teens early 20s can get their hands on a car like the Z! i was driving sh*t boxes like ancient Cavaliers with leaky sunroofs and rust effect rust on every panel at your age. Wow i sound like a right old git! But, i'm honestly chuffed that you can get one mate
  12. Sorry! didn't mean to cause a kerfuffle. I'd better think before i click Back to the driving course.....i got her to take me for a short drive and i could see i big difference in her style now. Much more positive, putting the car where it needs to be, getting the correct gear at the right time, and more flowing. She deffo recomends it.
  13. yes! but there are now pics......have i done something wrong?
  14. from my earlier thread... viewtopic.php?f=9&t=40137
  15. well she's back safe and sound.......the missus is ok too smothered in brake dust but all straight. she loved it and learnt loads and improved greatly. Did 'doughnuts and everything! heres some piccys, no action ones unfortunately. Blimey, what happened to the 2 second rule!!
  16. Looking good! looks kind of raspberry colour in that light. I'm in Fareham near Portsmouth so not to far. Oh, and welcome mate.
  17. Hopefully she will be a bit more appreciative of my 'enthusiastic' driving! well, if i can wrestle the keys of her now.
  18. Well lm just waiting for Kat my mlssus to return from her performance driving day with RIdedrive.......in our Z!!!!! Hopefully she did ok and everything is still where it should be. Just put new rear rubber on so that should properly scrubbed in by now!
  19. I was also thinking of getting the intergrated satnav/head unit, but ive just got a new mobile (Samsung Galaxy S) which has google maps and it seems to be quite a good little satnav. So i might stick that in the cubby or get a mount for it, and spend less on the head unit but maybe get better sound quality for my money. Just wondering if its worth spending on an amp and speakers/sub, or if a better H/U will improve the sound quality anyway.
  20. If your car is worth £15,000 then sell it! My Z cost £10,000 and my '05 Yamaha R1 is worth about £4,500 - £5,000 and it is immaculate and insanely fast........you CAN have both if you have £15,000 to play with.
  21. Yeah my son in law just got a tidy gsxr600 for £1500.
  22. Maybe a little negative Paul! i've been thrashing the absolute tits of my bikes for 26 years and the worse i've had is bruises and grazes. It was fuggin' cold last winter mind, thats why its so great to have both.
  23. This reminds me of many years ago when my Dad asked me to move his Nissan Sylvia turbo of the drive, i'd been driving my automatic XJ6 for ages, i started it up and promptly shoved the gear stick into reverse..........didn't bother with the clutch though.........i'd forgotten about them! what a twonk!! Had to help him rebuild the gearbox, painfull.
  24. how about fake stone cladding and lead light the glass.....cosy cottage style!
