Cheers for the pics Dave, me like! Ta for the prices rik, do these clear the Brembos or is a spacer needed?

Has anyone got any pics of a sunset Z wearing Dotz hanzos? i love these wheels but i'm not sure they would suit an orange car. Also are these wheels viable for all year round driving? I had some TSWs put on an old Saab i used to have and they were flaking and corroding like mad within a year

Hey Guys Im Simma and a Newbie to the Club!!
Simon+Kat replied to simma01's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
welcome buddy, i've just got my Z a couple of weeks back. I've learnt loads from the forum and its good entertainment also -
Well it's got both our names 'SI' and 'KAT'. I wear the trousers all week, then at the weekend we swap.....joking!!
-
I think I'll do the same .......KNO8 .....looks good doncha think? hard joke to pull off when theres a picture of your car in your sig with the number plate on FAIL On a serious note my cousin just bought TO07ELL FOR £4100.00 at DVLA auction Dec 09 ............... and my wife's plate is T200TYS and my mate's got R100TYS ....... and we've got a pub quiz team called rooty-tootys Good price Si and you've got it for life Or at least until the missus gets fed up with me and kicks me out!
-
How much ? Where from ? £250 inc transfer from DVLA website, seems reasonable to me.
-
Maybe this wont mean anything to you guys, but we're quite chuffed. Just purchased new personalised reg...... My car is a GT; my name is Simon; my wifes name is Kat. The plate we got is GT51 KAT. Well we think its good anyway!!
-
Yeah my mum had one of those! (her name is Sylvia, i think thats why she got it!) i drove it a few times, quite quick. The turbo whine always made me check the mirror as it sounded like a police siren! Just remembered i managed to wreck the gearbox, i had an XJ6 automatic back then (i'm a classy chap), my Dad asked me to move the Sylvia off the drive for him. I got in started it and chucked it in reverse........didn't bother with clutch!!!! OUCH!!! They wern't happy bunnies, i felt soooo bad.
-
Hmmmmmm, true... i think it was just imaginary!
-
I should add that when i'm driving, as we go from 70 to 71mph she starts bracing her legs in the footwell and her hands against the roof, dash etc, sweating and muttering and swearing under her breath! and if i dont come to a complete halt before negotiating a bend, the violence begins!!!
-
i am interested in this thread as im considering the same mods. Will it pass an MOT or do i have to swap back every year?

The missus just got home from work in the Z, comes through the door beaming, says 'oooh i feel all excited now, just been doing about * large number!* mph on the way home, didn't realise until a car in the fast lane was suddenly RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!'.......bless her.
-
Hi giuys and welcome. We got ours about 2 weeks ago, still wetting myself with excitment everytime i look at it on the drive, let alone drive it! On the subject of MPG....i seem to be averaging between 25 and 29 normal driving to work and shops etc, inc ragging it when appropriate. But, i set the cruise control at 70mph, reset the computer, and i was getting 43.8 mpg !!! Then i set the c.c. at 90 mph and i was getting 35mpg. I was impressed! obviously what kills mpg is hard acceleration and revs, but these are hard to avoid in a Z. Good luck, you wont regret it.

like i say mate, if you like black, and arn't bothered about non GT and being a Jap import then i would go for it. It's a car you would feel good in, no doubt. By the way, it came up clean when i HPI'd it. Ignore the slightly snotty comments from the odd person on here , ive been on this forum for months and months and feel like im only just scratching the surface of what there is to know about these fantastic cars. Sorry i didn't find out the exhaust brand, im still new to modified cars, being a life long biker. I,ve come to fast cars quite late! Let me know how you get on if you decide to have a look. Good luck mate. Simon.

I actually went and had a look at this car a few weeks back! The guy couldn't be there to show me round it but his girlfriend (hotty) did the honours. She knew zero about cars, bless her, but she was very helpfull! i asked her what exhaust it had fitted, she said 'i don't know, but its got two!' ...But it isn't a standard pipe and the diameter of the outlet looked rather large! It's actually pretty clean and straight as far as i could see. The new leather looks and feels plush, but the yellow piping may not be to everyones taste, and the 'Z' logos ain't the proper nissan shape or style, looks ok though. One of the brake calipers has a small chip in the paint. The carbon b pillar covers are a bit warped. The fold out head unit thingy seemed a bit worse for wear and worked on and off, but the guy said he only paid a few quid for it off 'fleabay'. I didn't get to pilot it, but it sounded good on the drive I was very tempted, i only hesitated 'cos i was hoping for a UK car, a GT, and in sunset (black was my 2nd choice). Which is what iv'e just bought But for the asking price its definately worth a look i'd say.

They must turn up with a boot full of jerry cans!
-
Single figures.....respect and awe!!
-
Sounds like a challenge!! we'd have to say a minimum time span over which to measure it eg 20 mins driving... and no using 1st gear only! proper normal (mental) driving down a route of your choice. Obviously honesty is needed here.
-
Sorry, bit off subject there! I've been getting about 23-25 mpg pootling around the shops etc but when i put cruise control on at 85mph and reset the trip computer i was getting 35!
-
Hi Stu, yep this is the fastest car ive ever driven but still feels weak compared to a litre bike. Even my old ZX10 which was nearly 20 years old and worth about a grand would smoke the car. love it when you nail the R1 away from the lights and when you get it just right you get wheelie and wheelspin at the same time.....instant wood!!!
-
hi Stu, i just got my Z and im a fellow R1 rider! I did the trip down to Monza WSB a few years back on the bike, we went through Paris and took some pics of the bikes literally under the Eiffel tower then down past Dijon and we stopped for the night at Geneva, then next day had fun blasting across the Alps nailing it through the numerous tunnels and stopping for snowball fights, then down to our hotel at Lake Lauserne. A brilliant and very intense long weekend. Hope your trip is just as fun.
-
Thanks Nixy, hopefully we'll get a K2 shortly so wont need to get the metal polish out as it comes pre blinged!!
-
well good luck ,hope u get your balls soon lol!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers Rog, dont give up, it feels sometimes like all the good ones are gone or that prices are going up and up, but then suddenly theres a rash of good ones at the right kinda price. where abouts roughly are you?

i couldn't help washing and polishing it before shooting down to where the missus works so she could show off in front of her work mates. After all it is 'hers' or so she likes to think, but thats just paperwork!
