  1. youll need to ask someone who knows more, but the standard flywheel for the Z is over 1000 from nissan and clutch is .......? ive been quoted 280 fitting for the eXedy clutch kit and dual mass flywheel by a very well reputated company so for the Clutch, Fly and the fitting = around £910 so in IMO thats too cheap :S be careful with Clutch type stuff, search the threads ect.. im sure someone will set you on the correct path soon.. Will

  3. ive been the same since the start of last week... ordered from Alex and................................ in for fitting tomorrow!! feel lost without her
  4. theres also another way to test (mine never done it first time but after that on the return test it did) get the car up to 4k revs and shift to 6th, press the accelerator all the way down and watch what happens.. if the car slowly climbs speed to meet the revs if the car jumps (like has been happening) up to high revs then drops to rise i was lucky enough (if you call it that) that when i was taking her to ZMANALEX to let him check it, there became no doubt on what it was on the way there (never thought id make it) good luck Will
  5. may be a silly question, but have you tried clutch slipping tests? i had a similar problem last week.. going in tomorrow for a new clutch and flywheel.. Will

  17. More likely in the cubby between the seats, under your elbow. But that's probably what you meant to say . The cradle should be wired in through the bottom of the cubby, whether you have the adapter or not. If you havn't come accross that in ten months maybe it's not there or been removed for some reason. sure is what i meant.. been a long day thanks, looking 4 a cubby behind the steering wheel would have been a mission
  18. would look like this aswell http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gen-Nissan-350z-B ... _500wt_949
  19. if you have a bluetooth adaptor, it would be in the cubby box behind the steering wheel, if not they are around £85 on ebay or a main nissan dealer
  20. well, after a very slow and twitchy drive from West to East to see ZMANALEX i now know for sure im in need of a new Clutch and by the sounds of it Flywheel, and with the best advice i could wish for and a rather enjoyable chit chat and excellent service from Alex i will be the proud owner of said parts and 2morrow i will be on the hunt for a fitting centre advice on this in the Glasgow area would be appreciated but now im going to have to put off other mods that ive been planning for months thanks 4 the input and to Alex.. Will
  21. Well, took her out for some more testing and heres what i think ive found... its not just 6th that when you plant the accelerator that is throwing the revs up with no movement, seems 4th and 5th are doing the same, but are catching again at higher revs and dropping back down Im in Glasgow just now, so if anyone in the areas had similar problems, would they be willing to have a go?? was supposed to be going back down to Chorley tomorrow but i think thats going 2 be a no-no? best dog out my AA policy number... has been sent aswell Thanks again, Will
  22. Hey every1, as im not the best with diagnosis im still unsure, but i think my clutch may be on its way... ive tried a few simple tests and its made me more unsure.. i tried pulling away in first 4 gears and there wasn't an issue, i then tried putting it in 6th whilst going 40 and checking the revs/ pull.. with this, the first few times she was fine, just built up from low revs.. but on the way home i tried again and the revs flicked up really high with no pull.. ( there was a burning clutch small at this point..) i have noticed in the recently with this though that when ive been on the motorway ect and miss some gears and go straight to 6th, there's sometimes been a gear grind... (gear selector problem?) She's a 2004 plate with 54,000 miles on and out of the 24,000 since getting her, around 18,000 have been on the motorway on long journeys... any help, comments, ideas would be greatly appreciated as this may get expensive.. Thanks, Will
