  1. just! you would have managed without me im sure well the thread was originally titled "how to clean **** off your driver seat"
  2. tonight drove for 2 hours on flooded motorways, couldnt see a thing and every few minutes i would lift away from the ground and float off like a sailing boat worst one being next to a lorry wet grip first class, water clearing first class, flood crossing fail i was nearly a few times. almost wished i was in the shed, ALMOST. just remember when you aqua plane for the love of god dont brake so many people do this! unreal! don't be one of them and get yourself killed.
  3. I Was worried, now I have them on its fine, have since got an 8mpg run in and they were fine so I think your safe
  4. me and biscuit did mine, did half of them in the dark even. really simple, all you need is a rubber mallet and some garden secateurs <---(love google chrome spelling correction)
  5. ive driven on them for one weekend dood, the car sits still all week. and the 2/3rds of a tank i used was on country roads getting her more grubby
  6. it seems very common these days of used zeds appearing with ill fitting alloys. It seems the reason for this is the alloy wheel distributors having very little clue of what actually fits the zed. That combined with places like kwikshit not understanding the tyre sizing. the root cause of it all though is cheap skate owners with no idea what they are doing. gives someone like you something to sort out and make your own though
  7. I think I may be best off starting all this again when I know the info But, on a separate yet related note, the fact that I have to have the spacers, and are STILL not sticking out from the arches, kind of suggests the wheels are not wide enough for the car......? its the offset that dictates how much they stick out combined with width, an offset of 40 with a width of 8" is shart Exactly... so if I have a spacer (to compensate for the offset) AND they STILL don't fill the arches... Then they are a VERY "thin" wheel, in comparison to the original ones... yeah? and the offset is ass, yes.
  8. when i kerbed mine in a tiny way i cried for hours like a baby. got those alloygators on now, look ok actually and i feel far less stressed!!!

  10. yes Not sure Bud.... Other than asking the previous owner, how can I find out? (No info in the bumpf I got with the car) take the wheel off, it will be stamped on the inside
  11. my honest opinion... I'd bin them on ebay and get something that fits without having skinny tyres and massive spacers
  12. It's always been 99 up here, I've been using it for 2 years. +1
  13. i assume this is the spec of the offending rims
  14. ealrier "struts" were mentioned by josh, this should be studs. otherwise it doesnt make any sense the whole spacer/no spacer argument is on a different thread and is probably best to continue on the same thread to keep continuity of the topic. viewtopic.php?f=61&t=40232&hilit=spacers+view You would normally want 275/35R19 tyres for the back, however your rims are pretty skinny so probably wouldn't fit with that size. Here's a thought, seeing as you have 225 on the front why not go for 245 on the back with a 40 profile? Its like trying to make a wedding cake from dog @*!# with these rims. no offence.
  15. where did you think i was going with that... Oh yes, i am that good check here bud http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html although your fronts you can get away with the backs are not great. Still, the fronts are skinny.
  16. trim removal tools should cost pennies, can pick them up from machine mart or something if i recall
  17. down the side of the car is best for seeing offset
  18. Dont bother starting a new thread, hit the search button there are plenty of threads to reaed already out there. Yes the zed has a staggered wheel size front to back. the stock size is 225/45r18 & 245/45r18 work from that rolling radius in a tyre calculator and figure out wwhat you need. most likely it will be 245 front and 275 back unless the rims you have are exceptionally skinny. have you got a picture so we can have a look at the offset?
  19. 100% easy to go camping in the zed! do it! you wont regret it. climbing out the tent in the morning, am i the only one who stood there in shorts and unlaced walking boots squinting in the morning sun at how pretty she is
  20. that could very well be your problem. put vred's on the back to match and job done check the tread wear at the same time EDIT: i only glanced and didnt notice the sizes what is going on there someone shove them in a tyre calc.
  21. So if the TCS doesnt kick in with a good tyre set up why turn it Off? for those moments you might hit some diesel or wet patches on the road? P.S i often floor my Z half way around a corner and no signs of the back wanting to come out atall? im in agreement, since i put the "monsters" on my TC barely ever comes on, infact its dam hard work to get the back tyres to shift in any situation, including the wet. i used to hit the button when i had my nankangs on because it would let go at such a low speed it felt pretty safe, now i have to be going such a stupid speed that if it goes wrong im officially over. Huge tyres all the way
