  2. Just checked mine - there is an initial slight resistance and then it just pops straight across - no up or down movement. Thanks Jim, Sounds like I have something come adrift, broken or lose in the shifter as it went straight into the manual mode and seemed to skip the D mode if I remember when it happened. I removed the surrond but could not remove the gear nob or the P,R,N,D plastic cover so could not see into the mechanism but I could see the metal bar which runs through the shifter moving up and down ok when the side button is pushed, not sure if it should be attached to something to push,pull,lift or lower anything as it is quite a long bar to be doing nothing. Does anyone know if that bar is attached to anything???

Hi Jim Nothing in the square display and the car is in neutral so it can't be driven What I mean is, have you tried starting it up and moving the shift forward to engage a gear even though there is no light in the display? Apologies if I am stating the obvious and you have already tried all this. Hi Jim, Thanks for the imput. If i push the stick towards the D as far as I can then the display lights the N, but as soon as I let the stick go, the screen goes blank and if I push the stick forward or back in the manual mode I can hear the soleniods clicking but no gears engaged. Any thoughts???
  4. Hi marzman, Thanks, as I wrote the autobox shift is stuck in the manual gate position and i cant get it to move across to the D position. Correct me if I am wrong but the link you posted was for the shift being stuck in the park position, and you can move it out of this position with the shift lock button, mine is stuck in the manual side of the box but with no gears engaged. Can someone tell me if when you move the shifter across from A to manual mode as it crosses the gate is their any movement felt from the shifter ie-you feel it slightly raise up or down etc???? Thanks

  6. HELP Driving my car today and went to park the car and while parking I moved the box from R to D and the gear shift went straight into the manual gate and it's STUCK! The gear shift is stuck in the manual side of the auto box BUT it is in neutral, the square display says nothing and if I try and move the gear shift to the D position if I hold it as far as it will go towards the D then the N in the display lights but as soon as I let go of the shift the display goes blank. The gearbox is in neutral ( the car rolls no problem). I cannot move the gearshift from the manual side of the box to the D side no matter what I try, the button, the shift lock push button. So now the car is parked up with the keys stuck in the ignition. Anyone got any ideas please??

  9. I am looking for the LCD display in the computer as mine gives outside temp in degrees F and I want degrees C. Mine is a left hooker so hence only wanting the LCD screen that plugs in. Sorry about the quality of the pics, hence 3 pics. This is the bit I ideally want Can anyone help in any way please? Thanks
  10. How will you be using you car, would you ever be going on track or would it just be day to day driving... Unlikely I will do any track driving, so I will say mostly normal road use with some possible heavy braking times.

  12. If the discs and pads are quite old/worn they won't be used to the hard braking style you were doing... As you said, once 'normal' braking was resumed all appears to be well. How worn are your discs, do you have a lip forming on the outer edge... The discs have no lip on them, I guess they could be the orginal discs as the car has only done 26K since new but the car is 2003 model so quite old. Comments please
  13. You are the person with the money so you hold the cards. You can offer as low as you like and can always come up. I bought my boss a Maybach 62 last July and ended up paying £ 50,000 less than the asking price and I got my Z for 6,300 euros less than the asking price. Remember if you don't ask you won't know and you can always go up in price but never down

Hi, It has began to warm up a little bit over here at last and today after some heavy braking down a long hill the peddle and car began to judder quite badly and dissapeared after a period of normal driving. I guess I will have to and replace the brakes. I have non brembo brakes (2003 US model). What discs and pads would you advise for me and where is the place to get them from. Thanks
  17. Hi guys While driving the car today suddenly noticed the oil pressure guage was reading a pressure off the scale of more than 120. When the ignition is switched on but engine not running the needle sits at just above 60 and then when started goes above 120, the needle still appears to be moving up and down, just off the dial and the movement is restricted I guess due to the needle movement restrictions. Has anyone any ideas please???
  18. Hi all. I used to run my Lexus GS 430 on Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic Oil without any problems. Before I switch my Z over just wondered if anyone had any problems with these oils? So, Who uses Semi or Fully Synthetic Oil? How long have you used either Semi or Fully Synthetic Oil in your engine? Have you had any problems using Semi or Fully Synthetic Oil? The feedback from this topic will help me deceide which one to use as someone told me they had a problem with wear on a timing chain in their car (not a Z). Thanks guys all your help with this decision
  19. Jesus Brown Brothers if you can find them mixed my Blade colour in 1 hour for me. I ordered 1/2 litre of colour, 1/2 litre of clearcoat and 1 litre of spray hardener, cost just under £60. You can just have it already in a spray can for you, not sure of cost
  20. I had no problems with Bose removal but my Z is US spec. Use the Alpine to Bose wiring adaptors they just plug straight in.

  22. Sorry forgot to mention if you have a Brown Brothers Motor parts supplies near you they will mix up the paint for you in either spray or for brush.
  23. Yep a nice part of the world to work in. The X 100 is the older unit, spec is very similar to the X 305. The X 100 you have to use the KCE-300BT bluetooth and I had been told there have been a few issues with the 300BT and the way it worked. The 400BT is much better and alot of shops do not have it yet (not available till end of March-ish) but I managed to get one and it works very well. Will post pics of mine working tomorrow.
  24. Hi Wayne, Are you talking about the IDA 301? If so the 305 has a full colour screen and 4x50 watt. The 301 has only got 1 PreOut and will not work with an I Phone and only 4x45 watt. I have just had the 305 fitted in my car with the new Parrot 400BT bluetooth. Just driven back to Monaco from the UK on Saturday and used the radio, i pod and the bluetooth phone coupled to my Blackberry Storm and very impressed, all is operated from the head unit and all displays are put up on the screen of the headunit Will post some pics shortly
