  1. Dave, were do you come with all this ideas from nice one mate and see you domani
  2. I turned it off So would not recommend it! Every corner was a drift session! With TC off it required to much of my attention to weight transfer, bracking point, ideal entry speeds etc all of which are tied to knowing every section of the track by heart 13miles is a long way with other traffic and a variable grip levels I and my car will be better prepared to give it a go but i doubt it will make me faster
  3. As some of you may know i was at the Nordschiefe last week and i had the time of my life Believe the hype, it is as good as the legend have it! its notting like doing a trachday at silverstone etc and if you get it wrong it will be costly to you and your car and more:scare: It is a must experience for any self-respecting petrolhead and i think i am hooked already as i will be back in July I have many photos and even a short video kindly taken by a fellow brit when i overtook him in his Mondeo ST220. (Gary you are a top bloke! ). The town of nurburg within the Ring. the GP circuit beyond The main straights in the middle of the picture. i was topping 150mph here but the Porches GT2&3 and other exotica were close to 200mph The view down tiergarten Coming in to cool off Chasing down a porker! My other half died getting this shot hihhihihihii cooling off after 3-4 lap stints which i found optimal for brakes and tyres. note the admirer Going in for some more. I had a helmet but got rid of it as i became comfortable and moreso its not compulsory. Queing to go in car pack Rev limit set accordingly to avoid cut out my best time(bridge to gantry). I know it is naughty but you can't resist seeing how you progress My first ever lap was an 11:15(cautious!) but was consistently within mid 9-low 10 when i got going. but my best lap can when i had stopped drifting the corners and drove smooth i guess but i think it was really to do with an ever increasing knowledge of the track. Put on the sticker on my last day ..after my final lap! woke up on friday to fine this 900bhp RUF monstrousity by my hotel window and many a GT2 and 3 and RS variant! And i was thinking it was raining in my sleep Zed mobbed by porkers! could not resist!. ugly as f--k but capable!! the guy on the left(Robin) is a legend! he took me in a standard BMW 116i hatchback and lapped 8:45 i owe him so much and learnt alot. Fabrizio owns the famous pistenklause restaurant within the Tiergarten hotel(part owned by sabine schmit...Top gear)and serves the rumpsteak on a hot stone(bits of the track) yummmmmmy! The place is full of memorabilia of the who is who of racing! you need this to get past the barriers. Got two you also use the cards to eat or drink at the green hell diner in the background. techart, fezza, porkers R35 ...... the gates to the green hell. note the flat bed in the shot. it was required at least once every day! Back to blighty I can't wait for the proper professional pics of my track action to be sent to me and i would post the video shortly. Sumary/tips: - Its under 4 hours to get to the ring from calais via Belgium - Fuel was only 10-20 cheaper per litre if you go for the RON 100 stuff - I Filled up thrice in total. about 1 tankful each way and three 25L fill up per track day to avoid carrying to much weight!! - Hotel cost me 104 euro a night plus breakfast at the Tiergarten which is walking distance to the track entance but you can get similar quality within a 6 mile radius eg Adenau or Wimbach for 30-40 euro! - Food and booze is cheap!! - you don't need special tyres provided you use them well and put in heat in them nicely they will amaze you. My Avons ZZ3 became sticky to touch after three or four lap stint - standard brakes: same as above! on the 4 lap the pedal got longer but you still could brake hard and true! - stardard suspension is ok especially as you hit curbs and the bumpy carousel corrner but i think a stiffer ARB will be brilliant! i was told my some chap who runs anr tune nismo zed that the only thing you want to change in the geometry is the front toe which needs openning by 3degs for better cornering and same for negative camber. - cost 22 euro per lap but cheaper to buy in multiples eg 8 for 145 euro. -weekdays a less busy than weekends but check in advance before you leave so ou don't get disappointed when you get there and is closed for an event. see the official site for the calender: http://www.nuerburgring..de -GT4 on PS3 will help you with knowing the track but forget it! its nothing like the real thing...13mile 73 corners all trying to kill or flatter you - the Zed can hold its own and it is very forgiving as i found. surprisingly the TC was never interupting except for a few times when i overcooked some corners as i was becoming braver . nothing went wrong with the car and if anything its seems to runs smoother 4 days on! - for good measure i got a P2 with complimenttary valet, tea and biscuits type service on my last day by Nissan in Adenau and it cost 120 euro! my service book was stamped and logged on nissan database They offered to supply and fit Michelin PS cup tyres on their own 19" race rims and track specific geometry for 800euros if i call and book in next trip! - Finally its good to go with others. i met a few brits there and even spotted a GM choptop but did not see him again by the time i got back into the pitstop thanks for looking and reading. - Starting a list for mid-end july: 1- GT4 Zed

    My rear end

And they come in carbon fibre as well... I so want one of those now if they do fit straight when mounted properly. It fits staight when mounted properly I just wedged it between the panel and the exhaust to see what it looked like and take pics for the forum More so my right exhaust is sitting low as the bracket on that side needs adjusting.....i will sort that out when i put decats and a y-pipe to save me double work
  5. cheers mate i have got a sticker for you new zed

    My rear end

Got this from here: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/350z01/50-1880 took under two weeks and £36 tax duty to get it But should have been about 6 days if not for the delays from the manufacturer I don't know if this JP aero or a copy but i am very happy with the fitment and quality

Thanks to CS and i got this fujitsubo exhaust (y-pipe back) for a decent price and fitted same time. Sounds gorgeous after +3K and in 3rd gear pulls in tunnels and this looks rather tasty with my latest acquisition I wish i had fitted this before my trip to the Ring. It could have shaved off a few second i reckon (note just test fitted)
  8. Eh Steve so much for first dibs how is your search going? seen anything yet? I am good and just recovery from my ring trip. will post some stuff today I would treat myself to the nismo rads and oil caps if its not gone yet and maybe the grounding kit. i have one but its visible(Bronze.......we could P/X if you want )in the engine bay unlike Spill's....black & stealth as i like! catch up with you soon. bennett
  9. Hey CS, very good pics nice one! We had fun poking and prodding with Rob's(Nissan) approval and understanding. would have been nice to see more zeds turn up It was nice to see you again and thanks so much for sorting out the purchase and fitting of the Fujitsubo zorst in record time. you are not to mention the brake lines and pads. The 370 looks better in flesh than the pics/videos, but there are a few things that i am not impressed with and would not consider one now unless it would have a zele kit and other mods to bring out its true potential which means waiting about 2 yrs for prices to drop to justify modding However the good points: - superb interior build quality and layout - better paint quality and more options - bigger tyres, wider track and bigger brakes - nice alloy design - bigger displacement engine and better engine bay planning and accesibility - bigger boot space - pigeon hole in passenger side - Nice a--e(rear view) - though i have not tried it, i think the synchro rev will be a blast For the bad points IMHO: - don't like the gapping cat fish mouth(front bumper) - Fussy lights styling. what is it with the Micra hump on the headlights - never been a fan of the standard door handle. should be coloured coded - The bat wing mirrors with an drag coeff of 1000! ( we were told by Rob this is the new EU law!) - battery and brakes fluid covers look low rent - car seats higher - but the most depressing thing was the lack of voice on start up and iddle and even when you prodded the loud pedal all you got was some raspiness from the front and nothing from the zorst it was shockingling dissapointing - Nissan could have gotten 350+ bhp from that lump without trying talk of taking the fight to the germans! Overall this i think as an engineering excercise the 370z is and improvement but aesthetically the have tried to appeal to a wider range of buys and just confused the issue and as such the car has no clear identity. from the front arch backwards its very butch but i can't live with that front end. Once its lowered, slightly spaced out and with the right body kit it will be perfect. Either in pearlescent white or zele orange with black bits of body kit and wheels would be my preference. can't see enough of this: http://www.zeleperformance.com/media/02 ... 70z-01.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_OCnl7C8YM_I/S ... 10. Hey steve, Sorry to hear about the write off though we expected this i am happy you are holding on to the mods until you know what you are doing ultimately! you know i think you should get back in a Zed As for the exhaust it was a real shame but see what you can do with negotiating(you can ask to swap to the standard item which will set you back for near to nothing. if not you can always buy a K1 you should push for money and as i told you start by looking on the web for a at least ten cars with similar age, colour, condition and mileage from trade as a reference to what you should be settled. Anyway good luck and wish me luck for my trip to the Ring. I'll bring you a sticker for your new Zed .
  11. Had exactly the same problem and always prewarmed the car (5-10mins) before starting off in the morning which did the trick. However since changing the gear oil with motul gear 300 at P3, no more notchiness except on really really cold mornings when I resort to a prewarm and the overall change is very slick now
  12. I think he slept in the car with one eye open Honestly Ian, just invest in a top spec Clifford alarm system or similar +/- tracking device. I have a trackstar plus for sale cheap!
  13. Ok mate will do Hey Dave, do you still have this? I wanted a plain one but could paint it black . Hope you have kept the other stuff as agreed! See u fri or sat B
  14. Hey Steve, I'm glad you and your boy arrived back safely! I am so gutted for you to because you had a really nice ride and it had been such a wonderful day for you both. But the most important thing is that you were both safe. As for staying back, that was the least i could do and i was glad to be of service. This is what the spirit of the forum is about . I hope you don't make hasty decisions now about your next car. It would be nice to have you back in a Zed, so i would advice you keep hold of your mods until you are sure you would not get back into a zed before auctioning them off I have to say that you were just unlucky to loose the car there. i did a go back and check it out and i think the is a greasy patch on the exit I had a big ish moment exiting the BP station round about . i went round the corner about 30-40 ish and began to floor it on the exit and the back end went i had 2 bites at correcting the car before i got it back inline and under control As for the meet, i am reallly pi**ed off with myself for comming at the very end! i was looking forwards to meeting you all and see what people have done with their zeds for ideas on how to do mine and the was also the little matter of showcasing and getting firm orders for the custom satnav Nurrish and i have made Anyway i did the hope route and more and hand a lot of fun and there is always next year. Congratulations to the organisation, i have only heard positve things from everyone. good job! Finally, i think i am in with........the K1....what a sound! i will have to drive with Ians16 and Nurrish to make up my mind if it's liveable on a day to day basis as i commute long distances everyweek.
  15. You can get ultra bright bulbs or even led buylds and you should be fine Since i am going to smoke my tail lights too i am getting these from ebay. i will tell you if they are any good.
  16. Hi & welcome. Clean example and lovely wheels
  17. No feckin way I'd love to but I know my limits and don't have the gear to do it painfree!
  18. Hi martin, yes it is We have been recieving the odd PM of interest but decided very early on that Wales will be the showcase for the unit and thereby generate firm interest or orders. i have the working fitted unit on my car at present and we have even opted for a higher specs hardware than this with no envisaged increase in unit price If you do not come to wales, i expect you will get feedback from those who would see the device. Hope this helps. Feel free to post or pm any further querries. Bennett
  19. i'm getting these from Adam i can give you feedback once they arrive and fitted.
  20. Its amazing very original mate. will like to see it in flesh sometime!
  21. And one mod is coming all the way from NZ. Is it a sheep?
  22. I'm afraid just a wash and wax for the zed My indecision means my mods will not get here before Wales ....which is not a bad thing Atleast i will get it before my trip to the Ring Dave, first dibs on your cats when you reliase K1 and HFC/decats don't mix
  23. i changed both diff and gear oil and its all so slick now Used Motul from Opie. P3 £180 + price of oils and iridium sparkies
