Not an office but the same old thing **** me off... 1. People who assume that I am there souly to sign their work permits and gas test for them, when Im actually trying my hardest to keep the lights on. 2. People who use the operations channel on the radio to have a casual chat about who is going for first lunch or some such, ITS AN EMERGENCY CHANNEL GET OFF IT!! 3. When i've just come down from the very top of the platform to the very bottom and as I get to the bottom I get a shout to go back up again, its only about 300 stairs no problem. 4. When one week you get sausage rolls and cakes for break times and the next week a lazy arse chef is on and you get a pack of rich teas. WHATS THAT ABOUT!! 5. FOG!

Thankfully since I've stopped being a student and started offshore I have never touched my overdraft and never will again, so im currently not giving my bank an extra penny. R
-
Yeah but they wont pay back the 'unauthorised charges' from when it was around £25-30 becasue it apparently was 'representative of the cost incurred'...em so why have you suddenly dropped it to a quid?! Banks will try and screw you out of every penny they can because lets face it they have to recoup all those billions of pounds they splashed out of their own pockets to help stop them from crumbling in the recession......no hang on! Hey, I have new wheels coming next weekish and depending on how aggressive the stance is i will be getting rid of my spacers. They have done about 2,000 miles. A great mod. Looking for about £150 delivered? R

No jelousy here, the point is, if you currently have a 350z worth around £14-15K then in my eyes its not a big enough jump or difference to warrent the extra cash. However if I were in the market for a brand new car and had a budget of £30K to either buy a late 350z or a new 370z then I would definatly go for the 370. However im not in that position but when it comes for me to upgrade it will be a GTR and not a 370z i go for. R

What HP does your M3 put out? 370z is known to run very very rich and adding a few breathing bolt ons (intake and exhuast) has seen an increase of 20+HP in the States, putting it near 350HP As for 350z vs 370z, I'll let you know around March time hopefully Yep beavis is right, 343bhp. When BMW brought out the new M3 they jumped straight up from 343 to 400+, an increase of nearly 60 bhp is going to be very noticeable and makes it very attractive to E46 owners etc. I just feel that going from 313 to 329 to not exactly gonna have hordes of 350z owners dying to get into one. I appreciate its a more modern car and things like the rev matching gubbins and it being lighter and smaller will probably make more of an effect on performance but as they say, BHP sells cars......i think that the 370 is probably more attractive to non 350z owners as I can't get my head round why anyone would pay £15-£20k plus their zed for a 370z??? For once I agree with Sarnie There is no way in hell the 370 is worth a PX on the 350 plus £15Kish, If I were buying new then it would be the 370 but no for an upgrade, the only vaible 'upgrade' in my eyes s the GTR. Possible MR2 convert...advice needed, Pg3!
srobrien replied to terribleone's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Welcome matey, my dad is a member of MR2OC and he is planning the woodsport v6 conversion this year, always had a softspot for the MK2, driven his a few times, the twin cams are nice but I missed the grunt and buckets of torque. R -
I would really recommend trying to get a telecoms job in the oil industry, there are tonnes of jobs especially abroad, most places abroad are on a month and month rota and your probably talking over £60K p/a, plus really good benifits. Oilcareers.com is a good website, also try the usual suspects, shell, total, bp, chevron, amec, talisman, apache etc etc R

Jeez mate, how old ARE you? R
-
Probably best to get some fresh gaskets and bolts and PLENTY of copper slip incase you need to take them off again. R

Thanks, yeah I will probably just go over the top of it. Flocking is on hold just now until i do a few more external bits. R

I've recently seen a product called FilterMag (clicky) being used quite a lot by the 370z boys in the States. Does a similar thing to a magnetic sump plug, but a lot stronger and covers a bigger area. My guess is it does a hell of a lot of a better job than the sump plug as it covers a larger surface area and is exposed to more oil flow. Someone give it a try and see if it works (http://www.filtermag.co.uk/ seem to sell them, but I cant vouch for them as a retailler) Yeah the guy at the garage offered to order one for £30 but I had already bought the plug by then. May get one next service. R

Jeez, that took some time. I give the NHS the finger a while ago in place of Private care and it was one of the best things ive ever done. I feel sorry for the doctors and nurses who work in it though as they want to help but get tied up in waiting lists, red tape and budgets. Wish I could ask for a refund on NI though R

How do these compare to the brembo's? R

Most people just don't have the same passion for detailing and car cleaning as us, its alien to them. I found my dads cat sleeping on top of his mr2 today and he said "aw he always does it", I almost booted his arse half way across the back garden (and the cats) . R

I never swapped over the rubber or plastic bits on mine. R
-
No, its simply a replacement for the drain plug in the bottom of the oil sump, it has a magnetic tip which catches any metal filings or debris floating around, it protects the engine internals and gives a good indication of any engine damage when changing the oil. Its not required but i prefer to be safe. R

Hey I was having a think on how best to assess the performance of the traders on here and I come up with this: As the professional traders now have their own sections, why not have a sticky thread at the top of these individual sections called "seller feedback" or something like that. In this thread customers copy a predetermined format where they score the seller a mark out of 5 'Z''s, 1- Being rubbish and 5- Being excellent, there will also be space at the end to write a quick comment. For example. Feedback for "A Seller" Customer Service - Z Z Z Z Value For Money - Z Z Z Z Speed of Delivery - Z Z Z Z Z Product Quality - Z Z Comments: " I recently bought so and so from so and so, and have to say the service I recieved was second to none, the product wasn't too great so they offered a full refund with no issues at all". The only problem I can see with this is moderation, it would have to be kept souly for feedback, no comments, if there are any problems between sellers and buyers these should be dealt with in private, or if required a seperate thread. Whats everyones opinion of this? It would make it simple for new members to assess where best to spend their cash. R

Yeah, depending on the milage you can also miss out the spark plugs (£50) I think you only need to change them every 50K or something like that, plus you dont really need a magnetic sump plug, its just good for piece of mind. R

That looks the nuts Lamby, well done R
