  1. Zed is in Westway Nissan in Kidlington tomorrow for P3 service, MOT and new pads/disks fitted all round (EBC ultimax + redstuff - thanks CS!) So, I have the bedding in procedure printed off.....what's best? 1.) Take car home from garage, bed them in myself overnight on an empty road, I know they are done properly. 2.) Be lazy, let garage bed them in (included in price of fitting?), take car home, have a few bevvy's to celebrate my 21st birthday and have more sleep. I also have comeback if it's not done correctly. Which option would you go for?
  2. Ah, local to Bicester? I see you on the A34 in the morning, I think I tried to catch up with you in my black zed the other day, but a van prevented me Saying that, it might have been another member.. Welcome to the forum matey
  3. Fingers crossed GT4 (05plate) will be covered for mapping etc
  4. I can confirm that the Official Nismo kit doesn't have cut outs, but looks awesome fitted CS's kit has the holes for the washers, which I believe are on all facelift cars? (somebody confirm).
  5. Research is best form of attack! I obviously didn't do enough and resulted in two orders for bits and lots of rewiring! Will check bluetooth out at some point and let you know
  6. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=22782 That thread shows my troubles with the Alpine HU install.......however, it really was worth it after getting it all working. My car isn't an import, I believe you need different looms, but try this thread for more info: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=16403&hilit=audio+upgrade Hopefully this helps a little bit? I think my Alpine has bluetooth built into it, lots of functionality and doesn't look worth anything, so don't expect anyone to break into my car for it. Saying that, they would have a right mission getting any of our stereo's out!!
  7. what set-up did you go for? i've been thinking about new amps and speakers but to be honest with the struggle I had getting the bloody headunit back in I NEVER want to take the thing out again It almost went through the windscreen. R Finished product: Thread's here if you want to have a chuckle at my attempts! Putting the b y thing back in was a nightmare! I think I will change the rear speakers and front speakers at some point, but need to stay away from ICE for a little while so I don't go insane! viewtopic.php?f=27&t=22782 Alpine HU, whilst retaining the steering wheel controls.
  8. I finished my Alpine install today, after many failed attempts! It's actually perfect, but I haven't driven with it set up yet....so fingers crossed
  9. I am cheating and having mine detailed the day before! I will be taking the credit for it on the day
  10. DONE IT. Phew..... the cables needed splicing, which was frustrating. Then it took 4 attempts to refit with all the lengths of Ipod cable and steering wheel control cables etc... Cubby Shame about the wee gap at the bottom, but it doesn't bother me at the moment...it sounds too good for me to care and I can control via steering wheel ..really chuffed
  11. All hooked up, steering wheel controls work fine etc. Didn't need to splice and the volume is ok. However, my rear speakers aren't working at all......any ideas? I have a black and a yellow RCA cables left over coming from the adapter cables and another two little cables....which could solve my problems but I don't see anywhere to put them! The back of the headunit doesn't have any more inputs! So where do the yellow and black RCA cables go??? HELP
  12. Does anybody know where he is based and which events he is going to next? I have a company local that might sort me out, but I have the EXACT same size dinks in my door panel which need removing before Silverstone (31st!).
  13. Let me know, I might be interested too.
  14. I sold my GT4 wheels for £750 with tires, but one was kerbed. Hope this helps! P.s. Let me know if you get a GT4 and want to sell the wheels... I know somebody interested in a set (not me, even though I miss them! )
  15. Any guides on here? any special tools required?
  16. Come on richard These are very diy! save your self the doshers and do it your self Believe me, with my lack of skills....could end up driving around with no brakes I will stick to changing wheels and attempting to fit a stereo
  17. Bought EBC Ultimax and redstuff pads front and rear from CS for a great price, delivery was unexpectedly quick! A++++ would buy again Nissan have quoted me £146 to get these fitted, so will be asking them to fit them next Friday and bedding them in on a quiet road during the morning of Saturday. Report + pics will follow
  18. Thanks, really can't put up with the skipping CD's and lack of Ipod coming from a pioneer setup in my Golf. Will report back once I get all the bits (hopefully before the weekend).
  19. Perfect, just ordered that Matt and the Facia......just hoping Sextons can get it out and delivered for Friday!
  20. Aha! I believe I was correct and the steering wheel connector is that circled silver thing. I will confirm tomorrow how I get along, BIG THANK YOU for all the advice
  21. Thanks for the info Richie, will have another stab tomorrow evening. As you can see on this image: There is nowhere other than the circled input by the white and red speaker cables.... which I believe is for grounding? So I am confused to where I put the steering wheel control cable now! Unless it goes in the Aux in (on the front ) The stereo also didn't come with an adapter , what adapter do I need from Male 350z Ariel to that Alpine Ariel female? I haven't spliced the cables, will do it tomorrow...but the dimming is surely meant to happen for night driving, so when you turn lights on ..it dims?
  22. So I had a stab at it... I bought the following bits from Sextons as per the guides: 1.) http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine- ... l26fehjaj4 2.) 350z ICT Bose cable 3.) Alpine Head unit lead (29-001) Steering wheel cable Taken dash off fine and screwed in the new HU. Struggling to figure out which cable goes to what, especially as I want to retain the steering wheel controls. I successfully got power to the HU and it dimmed when I turned the lights on and off (so that's something correct), but have these cables spare which concerns me.....the cables didn't seem to match up to anything...where am I going wrong? My alpine supplied facia surround doesn't fit either I am really shocking with this kind of stuff, so any help is appreciated, even pointing out the obvious! (like the antenna cable )
  23. I am starting to fit my HU tonight - wish me luck!!
