  1. the plan was to put it on my car and take it for a run and drive for a while, if anything is going to happen surely it will be in the early stages of it being put on, how else am i supposed to test it, ideas would be grateful, after all im a newbie to this as well, hence it being called a project
  2. there are non, as stated in the thread earlier, the 6 centre bolts are removed like the kinetix, if needed, there will be a stabiliser added underneath, like the kinetix
  3. just a case of polishing it up nice and then it coming round here
  4. Just received a teaser pic, uploading now
  5. Believe it or not I'm trying to get the price around the £250 mark, 5 sales are enough, i'm not really bothered how many sales I get, it was mainly my project, my unique product, as for the vacuum I've already discussed this with patrick, I havnt as yet got a support in the middle, as he told me it wouldn't need one, however if it does start to sag, one will be made! I've been reassured that the carbon won't shatter so I'm Hoping they are correct, if this doesn't work it doesn't work, simple as that, if it does, great but we we will keep working on it
  6. The company is a company that makes carbon and fibreglass products only for a number of large company here In the uk, and America, so I'll believe that they know what they are doing, this hasn't been made overnight so it has been reasearched, I've asked the melting point and I was told that it was in the thousands, I will ask again today all the questions you guys have to make sure, I've had the plastic kinetix plenum before, and it didn't get hot what so ever as it's not a conducter, and neither is carbon, there really should be not Melting issues

  9. How did you manage to polish all that front? I want i want, have you got a little guide somewhere?
  10. Is it his time of the month? Have you read any of this thread martin? Did you read where I have already asked these questions to my suppliers, where I've spent the extra even though I didn't need to, to make sure that melting wouldn't occur???? Did you read where I will be testing this on my own car for a while to make sure anything doesn't break???? Obviously not...
  11. Oh that's right if kinetix arnt able to do it with a plastic plenum must mean it's impossible, not bring funny but if you don't try things it will never happen, rich is right, carbon can be just as strong as the oem and BMW do use carbon plenum on aftermarket cars and touring cars, the company I'm using has made them, the bolt holes will be twice as thick due to the spacer resulting in a pretty hard surface to crack, I suppose it's possible to crack it but only if you over tighten but that's the rule with most things hopefully tommorrow will shed more light
  12. Proper bo**ox cant get it tonight, because the time patrick can get round is to late, it's the wife's birthday today and were going out tonight, I'm thinking I should cancel her birthday Not to worry, picking it up tommorrow morning sometime, least this way I can put it straight on my car without me staring at it all night on the coffee table The suspense will have to continue
  13. I should probably change the titile to don't watch top gear-5pm-dave
  14. Just rang patrick and we are still on course for having it tonight can't wait!!!

  19. i did this myself, taking the plenum off is a simple job, only takes 20 mins, as for the poilishing, i vowed never to do it again, its a real ball ache and takes ages, personally, and i know its not the advice you was after, but take it to a polishers, youll be much happier with the finish and they will get to all the points you cant
  20. Hi mate, I know I keep saying it but apparently he is bringing one round tonight, I spoke to him on the phone a few times this week asking where it was, I got told he had one made but brought it out of the mould to early and ruined it, so he laid another one up ready for tonight
