  1. Looking forward to seeing more maz, and actually seeing it soon, does sound and look your welcome to drop by and have a look mark. I am only down the road
  2. thread lock but this will change soon anyway as I managed to fine a single construct z-shaped bar. so half of the bolts will disappear. I am also looking into welding instead of bolts
  3. looks like an HKS replica. someone on here fitted a similar ebay exhaust with great hassle. think the garage had to modify it. you better be careful about the quality of non-branded kits

  6. thanks chaps for the feedback If you decided to start making them id definatley be interested I will be making these for the zed very soon if there is interest. also I need to have a closer look at a zed with the bigger oil sump to take that into consideration. there were a couple at the modified show but I couldnt take measurements without any tools and jacking a car up. so if any of you locals have the bigger sump and can spare me few minutes that would be great arkwright, I templated at least 5 undertrays till I got to this. its still a ONE PIECE design if you take the sides off. its almost impossible to create these bends in 2 mm thick intermediate grade aluminum. It could be achievable with 1 mm or less thickness, but your sacrificing rigidity and protection with that sort of thickness. I will take into consideration any suggestions to improve it though.

  12. its slightly heavier bud but could still carry it around in my arm pit while carrying other stuff. I could have gone for thinner aluminum to make it lighter but this is much stronger

  14. mods please feel free to move this to the correct section few weeks back my zed managed to undress it self while driving upto ipswich. few bolt were lost from the undertray, the pressure generated by air leaking above the undertray froced the left wheel arch line backwards. which brought it to contact with the left tyre which literaly melted part of the arch liner while driving. anyway, I got the arch liner from the stealer but was shocked on the prices the commanded. the wheel arch liner comes in 2 parts and I only needed the front half (that was £43 + VAT) I also needed an undertray (that was £130 + VAT). the prices were shocking but I didnt have many choices with the arch liner specially with the modified say @ brands hatch coming up so I coughed up the money. However, I decided to make my own undertray. I always like the aluminum based ARC ones but they were to expensive and a hassle to import. I had a go at templating/making my own aluminum undertray. I have to say it was a painful experience but once done it was immensly satisfying. just to keep the post as short as possible the aluminum I used is 2 mm thick intermediate grade (much thicker than ARC undertray). I been through 5 square meters till I got the perfect design and it fitted nicely this evening. those of you coming to brands hatch are more than welcome to have a closer look. one thing to mention is that it will have extra ventilation added in the next few day (waiting for the ready made vents to arrive) and it will have a cut to make acces to the oil filter and sump plug easy. all comments and suggestions are welcome

  20. finally got the zed the wheels she deserves keith dropped them off this morning and we fitted them together. had a nice banter and a couple of smirnoff ice and was good then we gave the car a good washout and polishing (keith being my mentor for this). also got the nismo gear nob as a bonus. the wheels as you boys and girls will see are 20" Ultralites he had on his zed prior to selling it. tyre are 245 front/285 rare falkens. before pictures pictures after fitting the wheel and cleaning session all came in good time for the modified show 2moro and I am very happy with the outcome and really top bloke keith is. shame his sold the zed. then we went for a spin in his new megane brilliant car. hope you all like the pictures and I am begining to think that the car needs lowering. also fitted the new wheel arch liner, £50 that is from the stealers there is more interesting work going on underneath and inside the car. hoping to finish it of by later this evening
