  1. Anyone know what's happened to Rubens? Nothing confirmed last time I checked. Glad about Di Resta, good decision by FI  he's had a good rookie season as said and I think he has a lot more to offer.

I reckon Rules is done in F1, Sutil has got the be the favourite for his Williams seat. Unless Sutil signs for Lotus (pretty unlikely), then he could just live to fight another day...

  2. It's perhaps a little early for this, but I for one have found the latest driver merry go round pretty interesting.

Quite surprised about Torro Rosso dropping both drivers for next year and bringing in new blood. I would have expected them to keep Alguersuari, he put in some good performances last season.

Really pleased that FI are keeping Di Resta. I think he had a good rookie season but he will really need to pull out the stops next season to show his worth. His performance in DTM show he's got what it takes to be one of the top drivers in F1, but then again there's been quite a few drivers who've been sucessful in other series who have struggled to shine in F1. We'll have to see.

All in all its shaping up to be promising season, especially with the return of Kimi. I suspect the performance of the top cars will all be a lot closer, which should make the WDC all the more interesting. I still think SV will win though.

Anyway that's enough of my ramblings for now. It's a shame only half the races will be shown live on the BBC, but I'll still be watching.

  3. Key question really is what are you other outgoings? If you live at home and then don't pay much in the way of rent, bills etc. I'd say you'll be fine. It's definatley a fair step up in running costs through, tyres are best part of £100 each, it will eat brakes if you drive hard/track it, plus its a thirsty beast who only likes to drink 98 RON.

  4. Agree with what's being said above. Sadly the price of Zeds has dropped ot the point where they are cheap to buy they will always be relativley expensive to run. My concern at looking at the cheap end of the spectrum is that corners will have been cut in keeping the car in top shape which could mean big bills further down the line. If you can find a good one for £5.5k then fair play, but go in with your eyes open.

  5. I would say don't do it unless you're feeling flush. It results in a marginal improvement, probably 5% more power at best. It will feel a bit sharper the first couple of drives but then you get used to it and it just feels the same as it always did. It's a nice feeling to know that your car is running the best it can, but is it worth £400? Debatable, as this thread is proving!

  6. Update on Thursday or friday - Georgia, Trinidad, texas and puntland - significant updates on all of our key projects

    From Peter Landu himself!

Talks of allsorts going on - flowrates, acquisition of Punty offshore etc etc. Rise of nearly 8% today - I got very tempted to sell and buy back in but didn't. Here's hoping it not a peak but an extremely sharp slope upwards!

I wouldn't get too excited mate, there's been many false dawns with this one. I'm still a holder but am not expecting any massive share price jump on the back of PL's update (but happy to be proved wrong!).

  7. Re the Vettell/Button incident, I think Seb should have got a penalty. If Button hadn't yielded (just carried on as he was) Vettell would have driven into him and more than likely both of their races would have been over. In that scenario Vetell would have been world champion. Sorry Seb, but that's not the way to win a world championship. Had there been a crash it would be talked about in the same breath as when Schumacher took out Hill to win the world title (1995 I think?). Lucky for you Jensen is a true gentleman racer who backed off, but just so happened to beat you on the day anyway.
