when i looked at it it was high priced and they gave me the same reason some guy never used it and traded it in for a newer model. the sales rep i was dealing with was a somali bloke who didnt have a clue about the car i was telling him about the car and he was just saying im not sure ill have to find out. so it didnt fill me with confidence so i left it. Also he said he would ring me in a couple of days time, 3 weeks down the line he rang. Not very good service.
I'm fairly sure that was the guy I spoke to, he was not clued up at all. I'll expect a call in about 3 weeks then!

i was looking at this car a good 3-4 months ago i think it was oct time, so i would definetly knock them down on the price as they obviously cant shift it
I got my car from there last May and i am 99% sure that was there then but for loads more money. I was told that the chap that owned it was away and not bothered if it sold hence the high price tag but i ended up with mine which is the same model year and colour !! but cheaper.
Just to mention that when i got my car from them on picking it up they had lost ALL the service book and history so they had to phone around and print all the stuff off again and give me a new book, i was not a happy man.
As for the car, best thing i have ever done
That interesting to know, I wonder why they can't sell it? It looked in good nick and the mileage is very low. They've not phoned me yet, mind you until this snow clears a bit I'm putting a test driving on hold.

Maybe the keys thing is to make sure you just dont want a joy ride and are really interested in the sale - mind you if thats the case then the sales bod should have sussed you out by now and be open to a test drive! Preserve us from muppets!
It wasn't that, they'd shuffled the cars around the forecourt the day before and misplaced the keys. I could see him hunting around like a mad man trying to find them!

I've been flirting wit hte idea of geting a Z for a while and yesterday decided it was high time I took one for a spin. So I headed down to my local Nissan dealer to go for a ride in this:
http://www.wessexgarages.com/index.cfm? ... il&id=2385
So when I get down there I go and talk to the rep, who first of all didn't seen to have clue about Zs, insisting there had only ever been two variants of the engine, 276 and 309 bhp - there never was a 296 version according to him!
Anyway to cut a long stort short I asked if we could go for a drive, at which point he said we could, but they've lost the keys. So they're going to see if they can find them and perhaps give me a call this week.
Not holding my breath though as they really seemed like a bunch of numpties, a bit annoying as there aren't many Zs for sale around Bristol.
What dos everyone think abouyt the price by the way? I reckon its at least a couple of grand overpriced.

You can get red brembo's of a Leon Cupra R if you can find one at the breakers yard.
-
Congratulations mate, got yourself a good deal there.
I've still not taken the plunge yet, but prices are still falling so I'm hesitant about buying because however good deals are now they will be so much better in a couple more months. Mind you I've seen a few 06s kicking around for the £13-14k mark which is mighty tempting....
-
Nah... Dealer offered 7k, so if I start bidding at £7100 with no reserve then if i get any bids at all then im financially better off...
Just so you are warned have heard several stories of people selling on eBay only for their buyer to use the agreed eBay price as a starting point for negotiations. Just so you know...

My dilemma is I've got the money to buy but with the prices dropping all the time I don't want to buy then see the prices fall further.
Every time I go onto Pistonheads or Autotrader I see the same cars for sale and the prices seem to be falling all the time. I was looking at an 05 or 06 but with the way the prices are going I'm now looking at 07's.
The price range is compressing with the early UK's and imports at the bottom and the late UK's at the top but the upper price band is falling all the time and the bottom staying fairly static or only falling slightly.
Probably won't have a trade in either so I'm hoping I can get a good deal.
Exactly the dilemma I am also facing. I am on holiday quite a bit over the next couple of months so I am going to try and sell my car (Leon Cupra R) privately and if it doesn't sell look at the part ex route later.
But I do agree that the factors that have pushed down the price of that Z are the same factors that have pushed down the price of your RX8. Overall it seems like a good deal so if you have the funds go for it.

That's the colour/age I am after. Do you mind me asking how much you paid and is it a GT pack?
-
Cool, thanks for the replies. Looks like I'll be getting a standard one then.
But you have got me thinking now about whether a GT pack is worth the premium. I am not too fussed on the leather seats, and if I get a non-GT I could use the cash saved to get a kick ass stereo fitted. Hmmm....decisions, decisions!!

OK, I'm not a Z owner yet, I have a couple of big holidays this summer (including a fly drive round Califirnia ). Going to assess my finances upon my return and set myself a budget for a Z.
Anyway I have a couple of questions which I'm amost embarrassed to ask, but here goes:
1) Vertical orange bits in front bumper. Some cars seem to have them, some don't. What are they? I quite like them.
2) Do the CD players (standard and Bose) play .mp3 CDs? Seeing as you can fit 120+ songs on one it would reduce the requirement for a 6 CD changer for me.
Thanks, and sorry for being a dumb@ss.

Get yourself a Leon Cupra R mate. A tidy one on an 03/04 can be picked up for £8/9k. Can get mid 30s fuel consumption if you cruise at 70 and they look the nuts. They can can also be remapped from 225bhp to around 265bhp for about £500, if you need more POWER!
-
I have come from a Leon Cupra R, then the Lexus IS (new shape) and my other car is a Porsche 928 S4 (5L V8 in case you wondered).
I currently drive a Cupra R and plan to chop in for a Z very soon (just waiting for my bonus to hit my bank account ). As much fun as a turbo is I need some N/A power in my life!

Hi all,
Great forum, tons of useful info on here.
A little about me, I currently drive an 04 Leon Cupra R which I love to bits, but am seriously toying with the idea of chopping it in for a Z. Has anyone on here made a similar move to this?
As much fun as the thump from the turbo is I am really after a great sounding engine with smooth power delivery. I think an aftermarket exhaust will definately be an option for me. A good mate of mine has just picked up a Tuscan and I want it to sound like that!
My plan is to hang on for a couple of months. I really believe the price of fuel and impending recession is going to start to hammer the second hand values of performance cars so I hope to pick up a bargain.
Having not driven a Z yet would really be interested in a comparison from someone who has moved over from a hot hatch.

Do you not think when the 370 comes out you will see a lot of 350s traded in against them, resulting in more on the second hand market pushing down prices further? I've still not taken the plunge yet, that's what's stopping me.
