  1. I bought my Zed from these guys. It was a mixed experience. The first guy I dealt with (Sean I think) was pretty helpful and was pretty accomodating on tidying up a few bits and pieces on the car which was done.

I did take the risk and put down the deposit without test driving on the promise of a full one on pick day and a full refund if anything wasn't right. I ws a bit hsitant about this, but in fariness the car was completely blocked in and would have taken ages to get out and they were very busy that day.

When I went to pick up I dealt with Steve. Didn't like him one bit. He tried to wriggle out of letting me test drive it, but I insisted so he relented in the end. When I got back and said it was fine he was pretty much 'I told you so'. He was pretty discourteous through the whole process, treating me like an annoyance rather than a valued customer. Also, after I had paid, he told me that there is no manual with the car, because he'd given it to someone else who'd picked up their 350 that week. At that point I was too excited about driving home to kick up a fuss but in hindsight I wish I had.

Overall I'm glad I bought the car, it hasn't missed a beat and I think I got a good price. I'm not sure I would deal with these guys again though, purely from my experience when picking the car up. To be honest if I was the owner and reading this thread I would sack Steve on the spot, he seems to be the main problem.

  2. Onto the motorways and into Italy towards Como. Sat nav again takes us on the scenic route which makes the Zed feel VERY wide, as we head through many small Italian lakeside towns on narrow windy roads with tunnels carved through mountains common. A few close calls – and its hilarious how bad the driving quality has become just by crossing a border, the Italians tailgate like I have never seen before, not to mention smoke, talk on their mobiles and overtake on blind corners at the same time – they are truly mental.

With you all the way on this. Just got back from a week in Italy and driving ther is a truly terrifying experience. Luckily I was in a hire car, I would have gone nuts with people driving that close to my Zed!

  3. Arnold Shark = twunts

Wee story for you - my first car an Astra..........driving up to Pitlochry .....BIG bang everything dead- (pretty scary when you were burling along quite happily)

Belt had snapped .....result= engine shafted.

Towed to Arnolds - turns out belt wasn't replaced at the previous servvice when it should have been. Three weeks of wrangling with them and Vauxhaull - end result a new engine at their expense  Service manager thanked me for business and sincerely hoped he would never see me again...........he hasn't and I've had two vauxhalls and a nissan since not from them and never ever serviced by them.

That's outrageous. They should get shut down for that kind of behaviour

  4. Out of my own personal curiosity does anyone know how this scam works? She is offering to send you money, is not requesting any personal detials other than name and address, and is not expecting the vehicle to be released until you have cleared funds in your bank account.

If the cheque/bankers draft is fake it won't clear. I know this is a scam, I just can't figure out how the scammer will make money out of this.

Perhaps I am being naiive, someone please enlighten me!

  5. I've just spoken to a Nissan agency in Swansea and they told me that i would have to take the Zed in for them to look at the adaptor. Sometimes they can do a software update, but i think it depends on the model of adaptor. If not, it'll mean a new adaptor at muchos expense (£100ish). The joys of technology!!!

    What a ball ache.

I have managed to get mine working now, fingers crossed yours gets sorted ASAP.

    was it operator error?

Yes, haven't really used the hands free option much before as my car came without the manual

  7. Yeah I have bluetooth on and set to shown to all, but it just won't connect. When i do a search on my phone it says "no active devices". My Dad had the same problem in his BMW 5 series and was told that the car is too old for the phone!!!!

I'm having the same problem with my Nokia 5800, did you speak to Nissan?

  8. On Saturday I am flying to Costa Rica for 2 weeks, which is going to be pretty damn awesome to say the least.

I'm flying out with frinds, but when I fly home I will have approximately 7.5 hours to kill on my own at Newark Airport so I am thinking about leaving the airport and going into New York for a few hours to do a little shopping/sightseeing. However I have never been to New York before and am wondering if anyone has done anything similar, how long (and how much it cost) to get into New York by cab and what you did to pass the time.

    Any comments/suggestions gratefully received!
