Actually I dont think it got to court, as there was not enough evidence to bring charges. Isnt the fact that its in the car with him enough evidence? Its just one example of how distorted our legal system has become, unfortunately its the system and not those who work within it. But in the case of the speeding policemen, they should be sacked with immediate effect. They are supposed to uphold the law, and doing 48 in a 40 would have seen any one of us with a fine and points, regardless of excuses.

What a total surprise. And the police wonder why more and more people have completely lost confidence in the police. If there is no fine at the end of a crime, then they arent bothered. Look at that police/car show on the beeb the other night. Lady uses a bus lane to overtake when there is zero traffic around, an she gets a £30 fine. Same time a copper finds a bloke with 2 kilo of weed under the drivers seat, and no charges are brought due to lack of evidence as to who it belonged to. If the crime you committ carries no fine, then its just not bothered with anymore. Im still waiting for a police officer to justify to me the use of forward facing cameras, which have no effect against motorcycles, yet motorcyclists are the single "most at risk of death" group on the roads. Wheres the "safety" in that?

Just noticed this today, and I think its wrong, but could somebody put mymind at rest either way.... In most cars if you have your headlights on, when you turn the ignition off, they go to sidelights. Well my Z doesn't. In fact I can take the keys out of the ignition and still have the headlights on, in fact I can turn on main beam and have the keys in my hand. Surely this isnt right.. is it??

As I am very curious of any physics type questions (the plane on a runway one keeps popping up every now and then).. I did some digging. It seems there is a whole world of debate out there about this very issue - even physics forums have had debates on the subject.. I swear when I read Giles said that the site believes in a certain ammount of free speech, I laughed so hard I almost wet myself. But thats probably a little off topic. On the racism front, its probably only likely to end in heated debateand a locked topic, but I was watching an american comedy this morning before I went to work. Its called Everyone Loves Raymond (8.00am on chanel 4 each morning). The main character is a white late thirties guy, and in this particular episode he helped out in a hospital, and in trying to pursuade an elderly black american woman take her tablets, he said if she wanted to get into the press box at an event she needs to get better, and if she wants to get better she needs to takeher tablets. She then agrees, and says "you are a tricky little white boy aren't you". This was just one example I have seen, but why is this tollerated, while a very similar coment made by Clarkson is subject to scrutinisation? We have only banned one member from this website, and it was for making racially motivated derogatory comments, and they were made against a "white" person. So we take it seriously no matter who the agressor or offended party.

Yep - Always best to check the DVLA first, as most of these reg sites dont carry masses of stock, they just mark up the DVLA price and work on the basis that their advertising and web site search results rank higher than the DVLA. Got both mine and the other halfs for £250 each from the DVLA.

I think it was the way in which it was posted which led people to the wrong conclusion. For instance if I were to post up on a traders thread and provide a link to what I thought was a cheaper alternative, it would imply that I thought the trader was ripping people off. Whereas the truth may be, that the trader is selling a quality product, and my link is to a product made hastily by the fingers of underpaid workers in some far off land that wont stand up to the first shopping bag I entrust it with.

I dont think Tim is ripping people off at all - quite the contrary, if people took the time to look at the picutures of the articles, you can see that the clips are different for a start, and Im willing to bet the material is of better quality too, but it cant be seen in the pic. Tim has contributed a great deal to this forum and having met him in person several times he is most certainly NOT the sort of chap who would rip people off on this site. I haven't got one of these items, but if they fit the roadster I may invest, and I'd certainly far rather pay £19 for one that has been tried and tested than pay a fiver for one that will probably be no use at all and just go in the bin.
