Welcome. I'm no expert but as far as I know replacement BCMs need to be reprogrammed as they store VIN number, immobiliser codes etc. Dealers can usually do it, or there are specialists who can clone them. I'd give a dealer and some cloners a call and seek their advice. Couple cloners below from a quick google. Body Control Module Cloning - Welcome To Pelicandiagnostics Browse Expert BCU and BCM Cloning Services UK | ECU Decode BCM Cloning - DB Vehicle Electrics ECU BSI BCM SAM Cloning | FastMaps Remapping - Custom ECU Tuning and Remapping in Pembrokeshire Hope you get it sorted, let us know how it goes.

Hi all, Not looking for anything crazy but toying with the idea of a front lip and side skirts or diffusers. 2005 convertible. Subtle and bolt on ideally. Any recommendations and pics appreciated Thanks A

Hi and welcome 😁

Spoke to the garage today and they have said to bring the car back in for inspection of steering rack. They're confident the pump was bled when fitted, but say they will inspect the steering rack for any tell tale signs it's causing the issue, just to be sure before I start looking for one. At this point I'm pretty sure it is the rack. A second P/S pump tried, and same exact result. Unless there's another possible culprit. I should know after they look at the car on Friday.

Hi all, I have a pre facelift 350z and need to swap the passenger headlight bracket/ side core support. Do I have to take off the front core support to get this off, or is there a way to get it off without needing to remove it?

Hello everyone, I am now the proud owner of a Nissan Fairlady z, my most expensive paperweight so far. I bought the car after an auto electrician stated all it needed was a 'master key'. Wow how simple could it be, roll on the car locksmith. He arrived to find that the transponder chip had not only left the building but also the key so it would have cranked forever without a spark of life. It turns out that he cannot program a transponder chip on a JDM car, different BCM apparently from US and UK markets. I know there is Horsham Developments who can 'remove' the immobiliser from the ECU however I would be struggling to insure the car if this is done. There are second hand BCM's on eBay and I'm wondering if replacing my Japanese one for a UK one would work or is it paired to the ECU. Last resort is Nissan UK as I don't really fancy taken out a second mortgage and I don't know how helpful they would be anyway. I would appreciate any advice regarding the BCM replacement option. Obviously a matching transponder chip with the BCM would be ideal. Regards Andy

Mine is a GT and it lined up exactly with the existing holes in the boot used for a GT wing. It was a very simple job - I reused the fasteners and added a strip of 3M tape around the edge. Not sure about a V2 to V1 Nismo change.
-
Did you have to drill any holes on the underside? I've always wanted a MK1 spoiler on my Nismo but it means a lot of work

Yes, they would have had to bleed the PAS hydraulic system after the NEW ? pump was fitted. However, some air may still be trapped in the system. Report back once you have done that for step 2 if required.
-
Cheers Alex, I will try that. Would they not have had to belled it when they put the new pump on though?
-
Yep pretty sure they changed the fluid. I did think that too about it not being used much. Sometimes the car does less than 900 miles between services

It's hard to diagnose a problem or location from a sound, but if its constant with speed not rpm its likely to be either wheel bearings / wheel side diff / brakes / wheels & tyres.
-
Hi, My 350z has just recently started making a quiet whining sound at 50mph and above. I don't believe its engine related as the whine doesn't change with rpm just speed and I don't think its gearbox related as it still makes the sound in neutral/with the clutch press in and in all gears. Does this sound like a wheel bearing or differential issue? The sound gets louder the faster I go and disappears below 50mph. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Firstly, try a proper bleed of the PAS

I’ll assume they changed the fluid when they changed the pump? Ultimately it’s a 20 year old car that’s not really been used, so sat around a lot of the time which isn’t a great thing. I’d expect a rack to last longer too, but only under normal use.
-
Blimey it's taken ages to be able to log back in here, had to create a new account too! So my GT4 power steering has become a bit weird. When you crank the wheel over it's not too keen to try and centre itself like it would if the steering was light, so the car has a tendency to drift left or right, and the steering is generally heavier than before. I had the garage fit another p/s pump but that hasn't changed the issue. The garage did say they didn't think there was anything wrong with the pump before hand, they think it's the rack. I tried the pump first just to be sure. Is there any other likely culprit or am I really looking at another rack? The car has done 32,000 miles. No idea how long a rack should last but probably longer than that. Is this a case for zmanalex then?

It's a fiddly job joining the upper and lower parts of the wing together, but other than that its a good fit to the boot panel. Nismo mk 1 probably my favourite wing. Now need some smoked rear lights...
