addisj Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Is this to be expected (bedding in) or is something wrong? Reversing judder is even worse. Quote
ZMANALEX Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Here we go again. Something wrong I am afraid. Where did you buy ? What are the part numbers ? Who fitted it ? What model and year is your car? Alex. Quote
JoKeR Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Mine Judders very very rarely. Like it's going to stall but it's not. I have a Competition Clutch stage 2 and CC ultra light flywheel. I thought this was normal and just my driving though. That's what she 'Zed' :-/ Quote
addisj Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 My garage got the clutch in and fitted it. They said it would judder until it's worn in. 2005 GT model. Quote
glrnet Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Take it back and tell them to sort, when they have tell them they're plonkers, when you've done that I suggest you don't go back. It's not rocket science changing clutches. 1 Quote
newkid Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 I have brand new exedy clutch just fitted by japex...guess what....no juddering at all 1 Quote
addisj Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Thanks for the advice guys, will take it back Monday Quote
ZMANALEX Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 There are quite a few dodgy non genuine Exedy clutch kits on the market which is well documented on this forum as quite a few forum members have been caught out. If you accurately answer the questions in my previous post, I will be able to advise with informed advice which you can then pass on to your garage if you wish. Alex. 1 Quote
ZMANALEX Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 They said it would judder until it's worn in. 2005 GT model. Total rubbish, that sort of comment is just a cop out. Also you should have replaced the fly at the same time. 1 Quote
Jetpilot Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 No just the clutch and braided lines That will be your problem imho. When I bought my car the guy had replaced the clutch and not the flywheel as he was selling and didnt want the expense. It didnt bother me too much as a few revs made it disappear, I got round to changing both clutch and fly recently and doesnt judder at all now. Quote
chrisday1990 Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 I have brand new exedy clutch just fitted by japex...guess what....no juddering at all Buying a good car is only half the story.... You then need to find a good garage to keep you afloat and this is forum helps with that massively. 1 Quote
addisj Posted May 25, 2015 Author Posted May 25, 2015 What flywheel would you recommend (in case that is the cause of the judder)? Quote
Dashurik Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 When I changed mine (clutch and flywheel) I was warned by forum guys not to buy it from eBay...Apparently they were/are fake...Bought from carparts4less..Sly fitted it ,have no problems from day one.As advised above better change flywheel at the same time with clutch. My flywheel was okish ,but I listened to advise from Sly and changed it as well. You need to go to reputable garage who knows zeds from inside out.Had bad experience myself when first bought zed. Quote
Jetpilot Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I would go for a lightweight one from the traders on here. Quote
