Jblonde002 Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Hi all, picked up my new 350z Roadster, 05 UK build with GT spec but... The steering wheel has got cruise control on the right but no audio controls on the left. Has anyone heard of this before? The reason I ask is because I was curious if anyone has changed a steering wheel before and if the wiring is likely to be there for the audio controls? I am already changing the head unit and possibly the speakers/sub in time and the chaps at John Kleis audio said they had never come across a wheel with that setup before in a 350z. Have you? 1 Quote
GIXXERUK Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 google image shows lots of wheels with no audio controls 1 Quote
ZeppoJeff Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I think it's a roadster thing. I noticed a fair few roadsters never had audio controls when I was looking for my zed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
Jblonde002 Posted May 12, 2015 Author Posted May 12, 2015 It does, but my impression was that UK zeds either had audio and cruise, or neither? The GT spec (I thought) had both... but mine doesn't. Quote

Ridz Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I may be wrong on this, but I thought that the face lift upgrade of the Zed, around 2006, included audio controls on the steering wheel. Like you, I have a pre face lift roadster which only has the cruise control on the steering wheel. Quote
galgazza Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I Have a JDM roadster 04 and no cruise control but audio controls on the steering wheel ? Quote

Jblonde002 Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 Is the wiring still there (for the audio) if the wheel was replaced? Quote
Mike_89 Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Is the wiring still there (for the audio) if the wheel was replaced? If your car was lucky enough to have the full controls fitted and somebody has fitted a different spec of wheel then yes. Chances are if you don't have them now then the wiring harness for audio controls won't be there. Quote
