dannybz Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 (edited) I have noticed a fumey smell in the cabin and it's giving my a headache after about 20 mins of driving! Does anybody have any clue what this might be? I've just had it back from getting a a clutch and flywheel change. Edited May 8, 2015 by dannybz Quote
RobPhoboS Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 When the car is idling get a torch and some paper towel, pop the bonnet and check the fuel rail isn't leaking. At least visually check it first. (obviously there are other areas it could be) 1 Quote
GreenLandy Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Manifold/exhaust joints, fuel lines If you've just had cluch done they will have taken part of the exhaust off so my guess is that Quote
BIG-COL Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I had that horrible smell in my last Z, Nissan replaced the clutch, my car only had 4500 on the clock. I have had a similar smell in my new Z i could only put that down to riding the clutch on a hill start. Quote
RobPhoboS Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Good point about the exhaust guys (especially as it's only just happened). It's worth having gasket sealant on the y-pipe connections. Also whilst it's idling you can get your hand near the connections to feel air/gas if it's leaking there. On my one you could see it dripping prior to having some sealant on it Quote
