Advice needed after service

Been told at service that n/s front and o/s front bush's are deteriorated, they couldn't find bushes separately and the full arms are £250 each from Nissan. Any chance u can get aftermarket bushes? I've just paid for insurance, new shocks and a P2 service. I could do without this additional cost

You can get new bushes for certain parts, but I'm sure that there are some on the banana arms that need a new arm if they have gone? PM ZMANALEX or Clark Motorsport as they will be able to tell for definite (And will have stock of the bushes arms).

No worries thanks. I trust the garage, have used them for years. It was just on the off chance that forum knowledge might save me a few quid.

According to the service report its the "lower arm rear bushes" on nearside and offside front. Are these included?

Genuine Nissan bushings are available separately. Ignore what Nissan say.

Next question: do the banana arms tend to go faulty? Don't want to replace the bushes then need to buy the arms anyway

Yes, you have two wear and tear items on the compression rod.

 

The bushing can be replaced, however the ball joint can not as it is part of the compression rod.

I've just opted for the arm as opposed to replacing the bushes for that reason. Car has done 69K so may as well just do a proper job first time

Thanks. New compression rods it is. in addition to the p2 service, MOT, new front shocks and insurance that I've bought this week... Any1 know where I could sell a kidney? 😢

Just buy the bushes, the ball joint is a much rarer fail item.
